    So happy to have found these series of two of the greatest dames ever. Watched them from onset and now at 81, laughing with them over and over. Loved their cooking style, motorcycle, exposure to so many places and people. Love from Texas.

      Indeed, it’s great to find this series on TH-cam. My grandma also watched this show when it was on tv in the late 1990’s… I’m a great fan myself. I was only 10 years old when it was on tv, and now I’m 35. Great to watch them once again, especially at Christmas time.

      Yes, Two Fat Ladies used to be on late at nite on Food Network, as you can see why, they had no filter, these 2 were really some characters, I always loved watching them, some of the things they made, I would never eat but, then, there’s some things, I would. What also made this show unique was you would see them go to these country farms that specialized in a particular meat or, such as the cheese or even fruit or nuts, you can’t get any fresher than that.

      @@sonyafox3271 yes, don’t see these kinds of characters on tv anymore. Bit of a shame really. Would of loved to have seen the series continue if Jennifer sadly didn’t pass away. Although I think Clarissa also passed at the same age, 10 years later. Clarissa did another series after two fat ladies which was just as good. I absolutely adored these two women. My Saturday routine would start with them on the Food Network back in the 2000's. When the Food Network was actually a cooking channel and not grocery wars game shows, hosted by Guy Ferretti. 🤦🏽‍♀️

      I think what food Network really needs to consider doing is creating a second channel or something like that maybe food Network classic.

    • @rflett5797
      @rflett5797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      @@mikegallant811 They actually did that by creating Cooking Channel. It started out like the old Food Network with actual cooking shows, but quickly became a carbon copy of the current Food Network full of competition shows with hyper-emotional contestants. PBS seems to be the only place that still has real cooking shows and they even have past Food Network hosts Sarah Moulton and Ming Tsai doing new shows.

    • @washkoskat
      @washkoskat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      It all about Guy Ferrari. It certainly gets tiresome... all the competition shows and everything is timed. 20 minutes 40 minutes a 15 x courses in 19 seconds. I've cooked all my life and I have never been time and constrained by the clock and 3 judges making nasty comments in my kitchen all pretty silly

      The Catholic Clarissa appears not to have read the Bible more than the "fundamentalist protestants" she assumed were doing just that, but not celebrating Christmas. Actually, to each his own, in this matter, for it is written: ROMANS 14: 5 "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike . Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."

      I love her tunic outfits. I would have loved to have something like that when I was working & more out & about. What I like about these "Fat Ladies" is they didn't pretend they weren't built the way they were & didn't dress inappropriately as if they were skinny - which I can't STAND women doing now.

    Old school cooking! Because of these ladies, our family roasts are always the best! The knowledge and methods are amazing and the proof is in the pudding 💯 percent…so glad it popped up!
    Many happy memories of my hubby and I watching their show every week. I’m so happy right now and newly subbed as I’d love to make more of these meals, no waste!

    Miss Clarissa and Miss Jennifer (I don’t think I should even have to say anything more) but they were just a very beautiful pair to watch. I love watching them at work in kitchens they were working and it always always seem that they were always as if they were home in their own surroundings. Always at ease, love you both Clarissa & Jennifer (continue to bring joy to everyone around you always with your beautiful hearts darlings)

      Thinking along those lines, "mincemeat" (I use the vegetarian type) on or in ice cream is awesome. Or as a cheesecake topping. Or stirred into cranberry compote -- or plain yogurt. Or dolloped into croissants or over waffles. Or added to the filling for cinnamon rolls. I imagine it would be wonderful warmed up and spooned over sliced meat, like a spiced plum sauce. Aw, let's just face it ... I love mincemeat.

      @@mikegallant811 It''s a funny coincidence. On the way to work today I stopped at the nearest grocery store for a few items -- and noticed that the baking aisle is quite well-stocked with mincemeat options! I made a mental note that, when it's time to buy some, this is the place to look. Then I arrived at the office, fired up the computer, and found your post about ... MINCEMEAT!

    Love Jennifer and Clarissa. This Christmas Episode was wonderful. Love Jennifer trussing with a red and white string. You almost have to poke thru skin so much wonderful fat to cook things in. Love the egg moose the goose stuffed, swedish red cabbage and the Christmas pudding ice cream bomb. The carolers really loved it. Very talented. Love their expressions hearing their heavenly voices. Then they leave.
