Here are the reasons why certain popular laptops aren't mentioned:
    1) IdeaPad 5 Pro - I like it alot, I felt the price was getting close to Slim 7 Pro, so chose that one over it
    2) Asus M16 - I wanted to review it but didn't get time
    3) Inspiron 16 Plus - Display is too dim for me to recommend
    4) ThinkPad X1 Carbon - Should have got a call out for very good battery life. Best i've tested on a windows laptop
    5) LG Gram - I tried to avoid laptops with Intel Ultrabook processors around the $1K mark and above... unless there was something truly special about them i.e. Framework laptop. In the case of super thin and light laptops, I decided to go with the ThinkPad X1 Nano over the Gram due its overall quality. The gram I do like and have used, I just didn't think it warranted this list

Great recommendations as always Josh! I have the M1 MBP, and am really pleased with it so far. The only downsides are the lack of Windows support (Bootcamp) and the lack of ports. Seriously, who thought having two Thunderbolt ports (both on the same side too) was enough, that too for a ‘pro’ laptop? Other than that, it’s insanely good.

Touched on all points and not just gaming. The Legion Slim 7 really seems like the perfect bang for my buck, fell a few hundred dollars short when I really needed a new laptop and settled for the Legion 5 personally, the screen is amazing the ryzen chip is perfect for my Software Dev needs and 3050Ti gets me some good performance in casual gaming, and the port selection handle my 3 screen setup (Laptop screen included) easily! With the gpu shortage and all the scalpers, it's actually worth considering getting a laptop instead of a desktop PC. $1500 for a laptop with a Ryzen 5800 and RTX 3060 is a reasonable price when a RTX 3060 graphics card alone is going for $900.

In my opinion, though, whenever you talk about MacBooks, it's crucial to mention that if, at any time, you'd need to fix your MacBook, you're probably going to have to spend tons of money - way more than should have been necessary - due to Apple's disgusting policies around repair. Also, I think it's important to emphasize that almost all components of a MacBook are (intentionally...) non-upgradable. That should also be mentioned, of course, for with some other laptops (like some of the Lenovo ones you've mentioned, which have their RAM soldered on), but with Apple, it's really their signature.

I disagree with the macbook pro 13 choice. It's difficult to code on 8gb of unified ram so upgrades are almost a given. But then, for just $200 more you get the 14in which is A WAY better package in my opinion. And The air is SO close to the 13 pro, with only a tiny performance boost in favor of the pro.
It really isn't worth it for most people.
Or, At $1500 for 16gb 13in macbook pro, there are better Windows computers to be had.
Something like the MSI Delta from Best Buy on Black Friday sale for $1200 is WAY better than the 13MBP. I get it, different strokes for different folks. But I also think it's REALLY easy to find better options than the 13MPB right now.
TLDR: The air is great for casual and semi-professional use. But the 13MBP is the worst upgrade path(buying choice) available, in my opinion.
Source: I own an Omen, 7i, MSI, GE and mine on each($300 from break even). Daily drive the 14in MBP but owned the Air for a year after returning the 13mbp.
Love the video! I just notice you did fewer laptop reviews this year and perhaps, I think, you missed out on a few great laptops more deserving of these slots.

I just bought an MBP 13” M1 512ssd 8gb ram for multiple reasons. 1) the hype, 2) the Mac OS and it’s user interface and user friendliness. 3) to be able to surface the web with a lot of tabs and switch between apps like discord and other things too. 4) another reason was because I just wanted to try Mac OS as I never have used it before. After watching this video I have a really big feeling I made a big mistake and should’ve bought a windows laptop with way better processing power and screen options. Would love your advice. BTW I’m not a software developer I will not be coding however I wanted a laptop that could facilitate my future endeavours of creating content and video editing aswell as web surfing and app switching with No hinderance at all as I can do nowhere near that with the current Acer I have. It's more about how annoying it is than about how uncomfortable it is for some people. Laptops in 2021 do not need to be warm to the touch, especially in the keyboard region, not unless one is gaming/ doing something super intensive.

In my mind, you should buy a macbook Air unless you need more power, then get the Pro 14/16. If you hate macOS or are not willing to live with it's downsides (understandable), then I would honestly pick the X1 Carbon for most tasks unless I needed much more power then I would pick a high end MSI gaming laptop.

Was ready to buy Asus Swift X until I saw your video mentioning the low contrast keys. I checked a Swift 3 in the store and I think this issue is even worse for developers and creators who use lots of hotkeys. Most people can type text mostly using muscle memory but if you need to use the other keys then productivity can slow way down if you have to look closely to find a key in say Blender.
Also the Swifts have really skinny right-angle (thus fragile) power plugs and I don't think it would survive even one accidental tug on the power cable.
