The product placement is finally going back to what they did back in the 50's. Radio shows (tv too probably) would have stuff like "I think I'll light a camel" instead of saying "cigarette". They'd mention a coffee brand, etc. and it would be party of the show vs pausing or going to a commercial. I think it's smart to do it this way, given how big the arms race between advertisers and ad blockers is becoming.
