I just discovered your videos last night as I was setting up my 7710 that I purchased in November. I was really intimated with setting it up and then the Christmas rush started so I waited until now to do my set up. I wish I had seen your set up video first before doing mine as I went ahead and used the factory ink as recommended in other videos. I was thrilled to see that I purchased the exact same ink and refillable cartridge as you had so I can follow along on your videos and see the quality of what my supplies can do! I bought a heat press back in Oct for HTV so I'm looking forward to watching your t-shirt sub video. Also glad to see a video from a fellow Ontarian!

Imformative! Thanks. We did sublimination printing years ago.....so expensive! Got screwed..first machine went out on us...they replaced it....good..except the replacement when it went...though a new machine they refused to cover it...out of business.

Can you use a front paper feed when printing sublimation transfers or does it have to be a rear feed?

Because I don't have a printer yet, I've been using the Cricut infusible ink, which is kind of a pain to weed if you're trying to make small print. It's a very thick paper. I'd much rather print something out on a printer and get it exactly the way I want it than to be limited by my Cricut colors. At any rate, I used the mug wrap and my old air fryer (!) to practice with a few really nice mugs that I picked up at Amazon, and they came out pretty decent. But I'd still rather have the printer. :) Thanks for all the info!
Hi jean!! That’s so creative to use your old air fryer! I’ve only used the Infusible ink once and I found the same thing! It’s tough to use for detailed things so this will definitely be a great option for you!

Great Video! I just have a question as I want to purchase a printer to have a go at sublimation. Why would you get the warranty on it? I thought once you put different ink in it, that would void the warranty?

Hi Chantal! I’m so glad you found my video helpful!! I would suggest an ecotank model, then you also don’t need to purchase cartridges which is nice! Keep your eye out for sales and scoop one up!

Hello, this is very helpful but WF-7720 is so pricey now since its discontinuing. I'm new to all this, and I was hoping to get an answer in regards to the Epson WF-7210. Does WF-7210 work well for sublimation? I found a sublimation cartridges thats compatible with it, but I'm hoping to get an advice on it. Thank you for your videos, they're very helpful as well.

It’s best 2 add some kind of protection plan just incase something happens 2 it.
So with the printer you can just put sublimation ink in it and save all that money or is there more to it?
The kit isn't in stock but you can buy them separately and they give them to you for same price as the kit of all 4 and usually in stock like that for cosmos ink

First time watching your videos and I love it, any place you can recommend where I can buy T shirts to sublimate? I bought some from All Day Shirts, they just have 100% polyester I'm looking for at least 80/20
I just watched another video where someone didn't buy any ink tanks, they just filled the printer tanks from new and it worked!! Just a thought for people wanting to do this.

I heard you say that you purchased the protection plan. Once you convert the printer aren’t you pretty much losing your warranty?

Word of advice if you use the printer for sublimation it voids the warranty so make sure you don't tell them👍
The heat resistant tape is called "Kapton" and was developed for the Apollo space program. Thanks NASA!!! LOL

What is the different between ink jet and sublimation ink I’m new at this.
sublimation ink evaporates into a gas so it can transfer and bond to the polyester material or anything coated in a polyester chemical like certain mugs canvases, etc. regular ink doesn't transfer it just dries on the paper and there is a lot to learn. there are other ways to do transfers though with regular ink like heat transfer vinyl paper.I'm no expert but that's just bout as much as I know.
I was going to get an Epson printer too but only thing is they really aren’t a sublimation printer and if you don’t print something every day then that’s when a problem arises but the saw grass is made for sublimation and if you print something one a month it’s ok cause they have maintenance free head and make sure the head are clean so when you are ready to print. But I’m sure you already know this but if not now you do.

I can’t find the empty cartridges ANYWHERE!! Do they still make them or am I just stupid? 😅
Another video says to use 120 a-sub paper for epson 125 is thicker so after awhile it could mess up the printer. Not my words so I’m not 100% how true it is. Just figured id through it out there.
I found the 2720ET at target for basically the same sale price. I didn't use any cartridges for the eco-tank...

Love the video! I was wondering why people choose Epson printers over Canon ink jet printers. I have one and with Canon's history of image quality want to use it for my printing. Do you recommend the switch?
I think one of the main reasons is the ease of finding compatible cartridges, supplies and support to convert to sublimation. The 7720 and 7710 from Epson are discontinued now though so most folks are going with an Ecotank model! If you already have a canon and plan to convert it, just make sure you do your research and know what is going to work with it. I also wouldn’t plan on using it for any type of printing other than sublimation once you convert it :)
@@TheFoiledPlan Some printers heat their ink up when it is being used and that will not work for sub ink, there is also different type of blending that has to happen to create the 3 colors for the epson printers plus black that is specific to Epson. My ex has a Canon and it has something like 10 cartridge colors, so it takes a completely different mix and that is why it is hard to find the sub ink, I don't think companies want to mess with all of those cartridges. So my default Epson has cornered the market so to speak.
