I honestly get why y’all were frustrated even I low-key was at this episode, but it also makes sense character wise why they act the way they did. I think it’s also a cultural difference, Asian dramas tend to be a slow burn but I think that’s their charm. They kinda let things develop before a couple sees themselves as in a relationship. Let the characters develop some chemistry
The most hilarious thing to me, watching this reaction is, i was confused why they confused 😂😂
it's easy conclusion/ easy interpretation of Pran characters. his action show just like previous episodes, he is over thinking, i mean he like Pat for 4-5 years at this point yet, he never try at all.
And it's took Pat literally 4 to 5 days to figure out his feelings and take and actions.

idk if its a cultural thing or introvert overthinker things or something but i could immediately tell what was going through his mind when he ran away in ep 5 after the Kiss. basically in asia our parents approval is veryyyy important to a relationship and in this case their parents literally hate each other like SO MUCH. and not to mention they cant be together on university either because of the long rivalry of architecture and engineering. tldr: their friends and family hate eo so they cant be together.
Btw to answer your question of wether it is their first play or not, well short to say it is not. For Ohm (actor that plays Pat), he's been in several BL series before (Make It Right Series and He's Comming to Me). For Nanon (Pran), it is his first BL series, but he has played on several straight series before. Fun fact: Nanon has been in front od camera since he was a small kid, playing in several thai commercial xD U can just see them on yt, he is really cute there hahaha

OMG, when you said Chiloe, oh no the condensation. I think I may have wet myself a little, you two are so funny. You don't need to ask yourself what you are missing, I think Asians have a different obligation to family then we do in the west where we put our own identify and relationships first. That is the real problem. The good part is that Pran and Pat talk things out by the end of each episode.
Aw you guys were so confused lol. But I think the disconnect here is that you underestimated the importance of the whole family history (which is made even worse by the whole faculty feud). The last time Pat and Pran became friends (when they were in that highschool band together) Pran had to suffer the consequences and got transferred to a boarding school away from his family and friends, so the lesson he's learned is that letting Pat in leads to disaster for him :'( and yet he can't stay away from him for too long either. Maybe i'm a sucker for punishment but I LOVE THIS ANGST.

It's really funny you didn't understand why Pran reacted the way he did. Perhaps it's due to cultural difference. If you remember last episode, where they kissed. After the kiss, Pat's reaction was happiness, because he finally understood his feelings towards Pran all these years: that he likes him. So his happiness was the happiness of clarification. But for Pran, he has been liking/loving Pat for years and he knows it. But once they kissed, he realized there's no way they could be together, given the hostility between their families and their friends. So he went away. Once he did that, Pat also realized they are in a tough position. So his smile faded into sadness.
I am from China, and I immediately understood when watching ep5. Perhaps it really is cultural difference. If you grow up in western societies, perhaps you can't immediately pick up what's implied in those scenes.
Also, Pat just told him he likes Ink the other day. So he wasn't sure how to interpret the kiss with Pat. But after Pat told him he doesn't like Ink that much, Pran immediately changed his behaviors.
I agree on this. I think most Western relationships, not generalizing here, jump into being together immediately like an impulse. On the other hand most Asian relationships portrayed in media & society have this build up process where they need to get to know each other on a deeper level, iron out any roadblocks before being in a relationship. Also, being family-centric, Asians consider or seek the approval of parents of their relationship. With how their parents are enemies, it's difficult to start something that they think is doomed from the start.

I don’t think it’s only cultural (Asians have a higher value of family and elders - without undermining westerns) but for me it’s more of his character and the way he acts and overthinks! He’s been hurt, moved away from friends, he thinks of many “what ifs” not the case with Pat he’s more relaxed, ongoing and acts on impulse. (That is shared by both the series and the novel).
I dunno I’m western but I totally understand why Pran was upset. Pat said he liked Ink a few nights before this and they were both under the influence when they kissed. Pran walking away made total sense and Pran not talking to Pat or about the kiss made sense because if Pat was going to say “sorry I just got caught up in the moment” he’d rather not deal with it at all.
I just wanna talk about how well Pat and Prans reactions were portrayed according to their personalities especially with Pat's reaction as an extrovert, I can relate a lot, he went immediately to Prans door after the kiss to talk it out with him. He didn't wait or linger to think about what will happen next because he knows what happens next is gonna be up to Pran as well ,but Prans reaction , the shock understandably so because he never thought he and Pat would ever be a thing especially with the emotional rollercoaster he's been on seeing him with Ink ,let alone kissing him. It makes sense, but the keeping everything to himself and ignoring Pat instead of talking to him fits so well with his introverted personality it showed such a sad but true dynamic between the two conflicting personalities, Pat going in head first to make sure he understands Pran and Pran pulling back because he was in shock.

And I can relate a lot to Pran since I do the whole "closing off to everybody especially the main person involved" shtick a shitton when I'm scared and/or confused about something. Which honestly might be why I got triggered hearing the interpretation that Pran is "playing hard to get" - no he just literally does not know what to do and is afraid of all the possible resolutions he can think of. The competition gave him direction without committing him to a specific outcome and without forcing him to immediately come to a decision about what to do

Exactly! Also it was the ink thing too. Pat literally confessed a few days ago that he liked ink and then out of the blue kissed pran. What was he supposed to think. Even in the drinking scene with friends he said my first love is dating again so he probably thinks that since pat likes ink so he will say to pran that the kiss means nothing to him and it was a mistake. So as soon as pat said he doesnt like ink like that, pran be like that means you like me then!!😂
What I got from this episode when I watched it the first time was that Pran gave up on ever having any kind of positive relationship with Pat because on their parents. The last time in school when they became close to friends he got transferred and he never expected Pat to like him back. Thats why at the end of the kiss he looks so heart broken because the possibility is there but he feels he cant take it coz it will end so badly. But after seeing how hard Pat is trying he ultimately gives in but turns it into a contest because thats the comfort zone for these two.
I dont think Pran was being difficult, just their personalities are so opposite and Pran is an overthinker that didnt want to get hurt again.
Exactly he prefer to avoid Pat and stop any kind of relationship but have still the possibility to sneak in Pat faculty to see him than risking to be found by his mother , be transfer again and not be able to see Pat again

Pran's mom doesn't like him playing guitar because of its association with Pat while they were in a band together. He hides the guitar away from his mom so she doesn't see it. It symbolizes a hidden desire (for Pat) that he can't fully and openly appreciate. Pran suffers consequences of equal stature if either the guitar or Pat are discovered. They are effectively the same. In a way, he is saving himself and his feelings because he knows how it felt in high school when he transferred out and didn't get to see Pat for years. To him, it's better to just hide it away and ignore it altogether.

Actually they're very professional actors. Bad buddy is Ohm's (Pat) fifth boys love project, he also already starred on many other series too before bad buddy. For Nanon (Pran), Bad Buddy is his first boys love project but he can be called a 'senior' cause he start doing acting since he was a child and already starred in many series before bad buddy. And same for the other side characters, they already starred in many series before except Jimmy (Wai), bad buddy is his first! And fyi, Ohm and Nanon are bestie irl, that's why their chemistry is just out of the roof, they act naturally even the director himself said that it's not 'acting', they're not acting as PatPran because that's just how they actually treat each other irl.

That’s moreso what I meant by we’ll never really know, but it is all still so sad to me. Again, I just really hope they can make up one day cuz it sucks to lose a friend like that. And the fact that the fight was so public probably made it worse. The whole situation just stinks, but oh well I guess. Stuff happens. 🤷🏼♀️
Pran was trying to distant himself from pat because he thought pat liked ink and he kissed Pran in the moment and just wanted to clear his feelings.
You’ll see in the end the moment pat says he confessed to ink and he doesn’t like her that way.. prans whole attitude changes and he goes all smiley and competitive to prove who likes who more.
Pran has been in love with pat for so long and he has a lot of things at stake and he didn’t want to screw up, that’s why he was all cautious
Typically for me, I have looked at information about the two actors playing Pran and Pat, and both of them have done quite a few series, although Nanon (Pran) had never done a BL series before this one, while Ohm (Pat) has done several. I know you already have watched further than this, so you know what’s coming, but now having watched 10 episodes, some things we see in these earlier episodes have meaning that they didn’t have when I saw them the first time. (Not so different from “Skam” in that regard.) I also say that as this series goes on I am more and more impressed with the performances that the two leads give us.

@@CoreySchultz Nanon is quite well known as a serious actor outside of BL. He initially didn't want to even do BL cause they aren't taken as seriously unfortunately but he said if he got the opportunity to work with Ohm(Pat), also Nanon's best friends in real life, he would. The director is genius. He basically told both of the other was interested to get them to sign on LOL.

@@CoreySchultz Nanon (Pran) is basically grew up in front of a camera, he is one of those children-actors. He usually plays main characters in his series. I actually would've advised to watch The Gifted with him, as it is an interesting show, but it's genre is a school mystery/ superpowers, so am not sure you would be interested. Ohm (Pat) also already quite experienced. It's nice to see how actors progress from their early works.
I hope you guys watch “Not me” after this one, literally everyone who watches it get obsessed with it, ITS SO GOOD.
The main couple “offgun” have been working together since 6 years and most people around them keeps telling us that they are actually real couple lol their chemistry is sooo good, on and off screen.
Ok, but it took 7 episodes for the main couple to get closer. They might not have the patience for that. I stuck around because I prefer the second couple.

You know, at first, I didn't get it either, but then I understood, Pran was distant because of the families, he didn't want to start something because he knew it would "end", he was scared. That's why he was so distant. They're both really different, Pran looks more to the future and Pat just lives the moment. You will later see how beautiful their relationship is and how they both try to get out of their own comfort zone to make each other happy.
I just wanna say that as a Latino and Mexican person, I understood Pran's reluctance and fear to get involved with Pat and jump into a relationship I know my family and friends won't approve. In Mexican culture family is everything, pretty similar to how works in Asian ones, so knowing that my boyfriend would be a source of conflict with my parents and friends would break my heart and I know it would be extremely difficult to have a future for said relationship, so I totally get Pran's thought process and actions in this and the previous episode.

When Pran talks to wai about his guitar, he's talking about Pat. His mom would never let him be with Pat. So why bother begin a story. Rewatch the scene and it will be clear.
I think there’s a lot of cultural disconnect with you guys watching this show haha they don’t bone 24/7 like western shows do. It’s not all about the sex, and kissing. PDA is frowned upon in Thailand. It really is more about the relationship that they build, especially if it’s by GMMTV you won’t get your gratuitous hot guy shots or make out sessions but you’ll get a beautiful love story.
Also it’s important to realize how important family is to POC and if your parents don’t approve, you don’t move forward at all. So it’s difficult to move forward.
You guys missed the key change in Pran’s behavior. He only switched to being into the chase with Pat once Pat made it clear about his feelings with Ink. Once he made that clear it was on from there!
Okay... I just wanna point out that It's not just the conflicts between their family and also their friends that is Pran worried about but also the fact that just a few days before Pat confessed that he likes Ink. Pran being an overthinker is having conflicted feelings about that too! Near the boat when Pran hears that Pat actually isn't in love with Ink, Pran starts to open up to the idea that they have a chance at this relationship.
And one more thing is, there was a translation problem here 22:03 , what Pran actually says is that his first love is already in a relationship so he is trying to move on from it but it's hard. Again implying to the fact that Pat likes Ink!!
Fun fact: Sweet basil,( the name on their tags during the paper folding game or whatever it is called ) originally had a meaning of hate which was later embraced as a symbol of love. You know the entire concept of the series is that!!

Oh, guys I love you but this time I'm quite disappointed in you lol. You dont' fully get the characters that's why you didn't understand this episode. This show is character-driven, you will not have quick reconciliation and kisses if it's not consistent with the characters. In this episode, Pran as an overthinker, is processing two matters:
1/ Pat told him he likes Ink but suddenly he kissed him after a drunken fight. Anyone would be confused about the situation right? At the end of the episode when Pat told him he doesn't like Ink, you can see Pran's attitude changing, he's smiling and joking again.
2/Because of their family feud, Pran was sent away just for playing in a band with Pat! From his pov, this relationship is doomed so there's no point in starting something, no point in discussing feelings.
Pran's behavior might be annoying but it's understandable and it's consistent with the character.
3/Of course, they're going to compete for who's going to confess. It's the only language they've known since kids. They don't know how to be together in a more healthy way. They'll learn, you'll see but right now this competition is really about helping Pran into accepting this relationship.

Ok so I am a Pran defender LOL. He is stressed. The last time he was just friends with Pat his mom sent him away for 2 yrs. He is terrified of getting what he wants only to take it away. The way I interpret this deal they make in the end is Pat knows he has to meet Pran where he is. So Pran's comfort zone is competition. Pat agrees to at least get him engaged instead of icing him out. Pran is a realist and thinks this will never work so he needs Pat. Pat is all instinct and emotions which can be a problem too. I get Pran's fear and he also doesn't want to cause trouble for Pat. Also it wasn't till the boat that Pat clearly stated he no longer like Ink. It's frustrating but I get Pran and I get why Pat would play along. They know they like each other or else the competition is pointless. It's more giving into a full fledge relationship which Pran clearly isn't ready for.

I understand why u guys were confused 1. Is a cultural thing 2. Is a teenager thing . For mature guys like both of you and myself included is obvious that as soon as we know what we want and go for it . Here you need to think about a teenager perspective , their own feelings accepting their sexuality and specially the dynamic pat and pran had their whole lives . They were always competing in everything and rivals (cause of their parents ) in addition how different they are , one is an extrovert (pat) and the other always overthinks (pran ) they will always have different perspective but are willing to compromise that’s what’s so beautiful about this series .Pat thinks about now and Pran thinks about the future . In addition you need to consider all the signs pat gave pran that he liked ink . Why would pran make himself approachable after pat confessed his feelings towards ink. Remember that only in the boat scene is when pat clarifies that issue 2. You guys need to understand how Asian culture works . The family dynamic and how important parents approval are in everything . Having an education (university and college ) and make parents proud are basically a duty every kid needs to fulfill . I didn’t understand at the beginning of my BL Asian journey but as more as I watch Thailand BL , Chinese BL , Japanese BL and Korean BL they all have something in common . Society and family’s approval is something that weights a lot at the end of the day . Unless they’re strong enough to cut ties . But imagine Pat and Pran are only 19 years old and all the drama that waits for them at school , at home is a lot of pressure . These all are stated in the first 4 episodes . There’s a reason why they gave clues and spend time building the characters so ep 5 and the rest will make more sense . Anyways I love your reaction I feel like I’m watching this all over again . As you can see this serie has a lot of depth and complexity as just a regular BL , interesting points of views from different parts of the world . Glad you guys are part of our 💚❤️ fandom .

as I'm European and I understand Pran perfectly fine without needing to factor in the culture of certain countries the fact that there's the Asian tradition of the child has to be as perfect as possible in terms of things like education and social skills it's important to be polite and proper as to not disgrace the family name than to raise your child to be a free thinker and form their own opinions and Pran's mum has told Pran that next doors kids don't like him so when PatPran were on the beach Pran asked Pat if he hated him and when Pat said he never hated Pran it was a bit of a surprise to Pran as that's not what his mum told him so

You guys are just hilarious with your comments 😂 I think many people explained already how Pran is feeling and why he's acting this way - so I hope it's a little more clear for you guys now. I think the family fraud is a bit more serious in their lives then you guys thought and that's what created the confusion 😅. You have to know that in asian households the family generally comes first - and if your family doesn't like your partner it's a BIG deal, nevertheless hate... Many asian fans say they wouldn't be able to keep a relationship their family dissaproves of. People just expect that you put your parents first...so if you disregard their opinion it's a general big no-no.
Plus you have to know that Pran was the one who already made a bad experience to be "outed" in a way. When his mother saw him and Pat playing in a band together she just transferred him 😅 So it kinda makes sense that Pat is more carefree about their relationship status changing than Pran.

I've watched a lot of BL so I'm already familiar with so many things about the culture and behaviour that are still new to you and it's hilarious to see your expressions when they do something that is weird from your perspective 😆
You should definitely react to Not me! Off and Gun's chemistry is on another level in the Thai BL universe and it's a high quality production with an actual message about the social hierarchy in Thailand. The series hasn't finished airing yet but 11 episodes are already out and the rest will be premiering on the following three Sundays.

I enjoyed watching you very confused on what’s is going on with Pran… 😄😄😄 You just missed one important conversation… Remember during the scene when Pran wants to leave the guitar to Wai… The whole conversation there is not just about the guitar and playing music.. For Pran the guitar represents Pat and music represents the feelings… There was a line there “We know it’s going to end, isn’t it better not to start at all?” … The very reason why he don’t want to talk to Pat is because of his fear of eventually getting hurt because of the situation they’re in with specially with their families, just like how he was hurt before when he was transferred to another school because of Pat…. 😁😁😁
Have y'all not been watching the show. the whole premise is that the family hate each other. they're not even allowed to be friends or talk to each other. of course Pran would be upset that he has something that can't "be"
The main actors, Pat (Ohm) and Pran (Na-non), are the top tier actors of their company and even comparing to other actors in the same generation, they are one of the best. That's why their acting is very natural and can deliver characters into lives. They have been in the industry already for 6-7 years approximately.
Everyone saying it's a cultural thing, i don't mean to un-validate your opinion but I'm italian and i got it right away why pran reacted like that. It was pretty obvious if only one paid attention to the storyline. We know how big of a deal the parents are it's the whole plot of the show. It's the one big problem throughout the whole show. It's settled from the beginning and ohm and nanon are so good at their job that the messages were conveyed clearly and we knew that pran was very sensitive abt this topic while pat was more impulsive and would have liked to give it a try nevertheless. It's even part of the whole speech before they kiss, it's the main underlying problem, it's so obv that it's so huge i (kindly) think they didn't take it seriously.

He also cares about Pran and understands him well, he knows he is a pessimist-overthinker, so the whole competition thing is just Pat's way to give Pran 'safe space', and give them both safe reason to be together and also the opportunity to prove Pran he's serious about it.

I wanna talk bout prans reaction it might sound weird but when I see this episode I wasn't confused as I myself have done something very similar and by somethings I mean self isolating from that person. I still don't know why I did it. I always assumed its a inner self saboteur but watching this episode made me feel there r people who self isolate after they r emotionally overwhelmed. I like that this show showed that part, I don't know if it was intentional or just random idea. But this episode was too relatable to me

I think the you were confused regarding Pran's behavior because you missed an important line at the beginning of the episode. If you go back and view the scene where Pran is leaving the guitar with Wai, Wai starts talking about Pran's difficult family dynamic. At some point, Pran says the line "If we know how it's going to end, isn't it better not to start at all". Yes, Pran knows he has feelings for Pat. He got emotional on that rooftop. He kissed Pat back on that rooftop. But he also has an ominous feeling about how it would all end if he and Pat were to get together. He's made the decision "not to start at all" and to rebuff all of Pat's advances. Luckily for Pran (and us) Pat is very persistent and wears down Pran"s defenses. Pran has decided a relationship with Pat is worth the risk. We'll see.
Yes, also in the scene Pat going to Pran house meeting Pran mother you can see Pran is hiding, and his face is sad as a reminder how it is impossible for them having any relationship. An important scene is also when they talk at the beach after going to the market as they address the things between them. As Pran do not have any place to went we as audience should pay attention to his face and body language. But with Pat he becomes more vocal about his inner feelings in future episodes.

They turn everything into a competition cause they’ve been brought up by their parents telling them to compete against each other and always compare the two boys. I went an binge watched all of it after watching you’s react to last episode and I think that’s the only way they know how to be. First time I watched this ep (yeah because of course I watched it multiple times... like a lot ... 🤭) I was really annoyed I mean they are really annoying lol then I understood that it's their thing they need to make it a competition and make fist bumps and all that's how they grew up and how they cope like the situation with their family and all... also Pran was confused because Pat told him he likes Ink and then goes on to kiss him so he didn't really know if Pat was beig serious serious but the second Pat tells Pran he doesn't think he likes Ink that way Pran's whole attitude changes so there's that too .... still annoying though lol

And about Pran's evasiveness after the kiss comes from the fact that for him, Pat is in love with Ink (he told him that when he slept in his room) and there's still the conflict between their families and their faculties; so in his view the relationship is already condemned to fail. You guys are so funny "Pa, you totally missed the point, girl" meanwhile "We have no idea why Pran's upset about the night on the rooftop, did we miss something"😅 Consider, Pran's mom would transfer him to another university if she found out he was playing guitar. What might the consequence be if she found out he was, ahem, sucking face with the son of her arch-rival? You saw how mad she was at Pat just for daring to appear at her front gate! Besides, Pat told him he's into Ink, so there's some mixed messages flying around here. And, Pran is just plain not an expressive guy, he's tight-lipped, he suppresses his feelings as a matter of course.
By the way, the "very attractive" friend of Pran's has also starred in a BL (which I didn't like much, I must admit) called "My Gear and Your Gown".
I love how Pat reassures Pran he has no interest in Ink and then immediately stokes Pran's uncontrollable competitiveness to draw him out of his shell and into a tit-for-tat 'wooing war' with him. Pran is the last guy on Earth who would spill his guts and profess his love, so you can bet Pat is getting into this throwdown with every intention of losing.

Corey Schultz your confusion lies in seeing the show from a westerner's point of view. P'Aof the director is poking at a lot of the cultural beliefs in his culture about the LGBTQ+++ community which he is a part of. I love his shows that he directs. If you want check out another series that he directs called "Tale of A 1000 Stars". It is 10 ep's long.
I think this series also explore the idea of how parents affect their children- Pat and Pran were taught to be competitive literally since they were babies, they've never learnt how to be with each other without the fight/competitiveness, which is why building a healthy relationship is so hard between them, because apart from all the reasons on the outside(family, friends etc) they also have to deal with unlearning some things their parents have taught them.
Also, for the guitar scene; remember how no one actually knows Pran and Pat went to high school together? So no one knows about them being in a band etc Pran is really using the guitar to refer to the whole issue of being seen with Pat and being transferred away. He gives an explanation there by saying, if you know that something will end(ie his relationship with Pat), is it better to just not start?" Given Pran's personality in the drama, it was really "crazy" for him to kiss Pat back,but he couldn't hold back those emotions at that time, when he found out that the guy he has been in love with since highschool actually likes him back, but when rational thinking came back, he left, hoping that things could go back to normal, because if they really got together, he thinks it'll be a worse heartbreak when they separate. Pran already had their ending in his head before this whole thing started.
Honestly I don't understand why you guys don't get it! The guy said just the other day he likes a specific girl. This guy grew up chasing after girls, and this kiss gives Pat all the power as Pran was sure Pat now knows that he has secret feelings for him. Pran could not bear hearing Pat say: sorry pal, it was just alcohol. He could not let himself hope either, after being crushed just recently. So I get him. And you guys have cut some of the dialogs I most look forward to hearing again, e.g. when Pran said "why start something when you know how it is going to end", and when at the boat Pran couldn't contain his composure when he heard Pat say that he think he doesn't like Ink. And the change on his face. Enjoying your reactions but pity those were cut off. And last thing: I see the comment sections. Cultures may have differences but it has not stopped ppl from the West from enjoying this small love story. There are certain things that reach far beyond cultural boundaries and I think love portrayed in this series is one of those. But this also could be me being too much into it. Just saying!
Unfortunately whereas some of us love the show for the fantastic storytelling and the amazing acting abilities of OhmNanon and PatPran being healthy relationship goals icons for the queer community there are some who only pay attention to the kissing scenes or the parts where the 2 cute guys are making out and I always find myself thinking if you want to watch 2 men making out but don't care about the storyline I'm pretty sure there are websites online that they can watch
But your right with them not playing the full episode and some of the context is lost when this happens
And as for Pat as we know he is Pansexual as he confirmed in episode 9 but it makes a lot of sense for Pat to think he likes Ink as Pat already had a crush on Pran before Pran was taken away as the flashbacks show us and Pat is attracted to someone because of personality and not gender
so it would make a lot of sense if Pat Pran and Ink were good friends like the show tells us then most likely Pat was never attracted to Ink he was attracted to a personality that most reminded him of Pran as Ink is sweet and kind
and there's a few mentions of girls in Pat's past but none seemed to have been serious and as pa said she wouldn't exactly categorize any as girlfriends and there's no mention of Pat being straight at all in the entire series it's just assumed and Pran being Demisexual was nice even if the writers and director have no idea what Demisexualality is the fact that Pran is a good portrayal of a Demisexual person is still good for the audience to maybe learn more about Pansexuality and Demisexualality
I think u guys missed that Pran was sent away in high school just because he was in same band with Pat ….that’s how deep parents hatred is. He was sent away for 3 years to some boarding school. Pran is afraid he will lose Pat and sent away again if he get close to.

Yall should watch Tharntype , Together with me and the History series since you guys like more intimate shows. these show alot of good chemistry. Tharntype was my first and i still love it even though it does come with some controversy.
"A cigar is not a cigar"...... And in this show, a guitar is not a guitar. I'm always surprised by how many reactions I've seen that miss the significance of the conversation between Pran and Wai when he takes his guitar to him. The guitar symbolises Pran's relationship with Pat!
Ep 2 Pat gives back his guitar which is when Prans realises he still likes him. Ep 3 opens up with Wai asking Pran if he's ever had a crush and we get a flashback of Pat cutting out a pick to use with his guitar. Ep 4 Pran immediately stops playing the guitar when he sees Pat with Ink. Ep 5 Pat starts to realise he has feelings for Pran when they touch each other's hand going for a guitar. In this ep Pran takes his guitar to Wai's so he won't be tempted to play it. In fact Pran literally says "It isn't just about the guitar". He then says "if we know how it's going to end, isn't it better not to start at all".
This show isn't so simple as many believe it is. The writing is really good. It uses so many metaphors as a way of conveying the character's inner emotions. From the guitar, the OST (introduction of the new OST which if you read the subtitles is completely in keeping with Pat's emotions) and even to Pat and Pran both being Sweet Basils which once symbolised hate and now is seen as a symbol for love!!!
Don't be fooled peeps this isn't like Days of our lives. The story may be simple but the writing sure ain't!!!

The mood switch of Pran when Pat said that he didn't like Ink is everything, it's Pran's main signal for him to accept his feelings towards Pat. Pran - 1 Pat - 0 with that finger tasting 😂😂😂 this competition is like their trademark since they are young but now they use it as an excuse so that they could flirt at each other.
Just to add they are really very good, seasoned actors depending upon the scenes they have to play out. It might not seem like that in the beginning but that I'd say is a stylistic choice of comic storytelling. If you ever see the reaction videos on the directors and his friends channel on Soonvijarn, they make fun of these funny, cute type of acting moments too and it's kinda derivative of old Thai comic acting role play or like you said, it's like a melodrama at certain points similar to Thai lakorns. I almost feel that it's a deliberate reference or parodying at times to take the story forward. Especially true because this series overturns a lot of BL and rom-com tropes. On a separate note, this is supposed to be the BL version of Romeo-Juliet, so the family has a very important role here.

I really loved watching Soonvijarn reactions and recaps with Director - Nanon and Ohm were on there once each too - in one of the recaps Aof told everyone that Nanon and Ohm totally improvised most of their scenes - they talked the characters over with Aof to understand what the characters were thinking/feeling and then they just took off- they are amazing
and yeah, they talk a lot about the references Aof was playing with

about the competition thing, when they're talking in front of the boat you can see pat's eyes grow really fond with understanding at one point and then he mentions that they should compete. this is him making it simple for pran. competing with each other is comfortable and it's safe. going ahead and saying that he really really likes him is the farthest from that. pat knows that this way things will be easier for pran and he'll come to say it when he's ready, even though they both know that they like each other. keep in mind that because of how much it's been ingrained in their heads that they need to hate each other, even in this episode they had to ask each other "do you hate me" because they need to be sure that this isn't just some sick joke from the universe

I'm sure you have a ton of comments about other aspects of Pran's hesitation, but one of the things I didn't pick up on the first time is that from Pat's perspective he went on a whole journey of realizing he didn't have feelings for Ink anymore but did for Pran, where from Pran's perspective Pat went from liking Ink to liking him in the space of like 2 days so he can't really bring himself to trust that Pat is serious enough about him given all the stuff they're going to have to deal with. But when they talk next to the boat Pat clarifies he doesn't like Ink so that's part of what reassures Pran enough to agree to their whole weird but very on brand flirting game deal.

The fact that Nanon (Pran) and Ohm (Pat) are bestie in rl, ghost ship since Blacklist era. They both great actor. Ohm has made 5 BL projects and his acting really *chef kiss * esp in He's Coming to Me and Dew The Movie, he won as Best Supporting Actor for this movie. While Nanon is the most gifted artist of his generation, he already accomplished more than what other actors more senior than him had and he once directing his own MV. Even now Nanon officially Thailand's representative for the main award and his only rival during the Awards season would be Gun Attaphan (his labelmate).
Now, being together as work partner, 🔥🔥🔥 their success are another level

oh okay, yeah you were definitely missing a lot but i think that has more to do with the cultural differences.
after that rooftop kiss i definitely felt pat's relief but i felt pran's mess of emotions even more. literally a few days ago pat told him he likes ink. now he's kissing him, which is something pran has always wanted but he knows they can't do this. it's never going to work and it'll only make things more complicated. this is also why pran so desperately pulls him in again and kisses him back because if this is all he can get then he's going to take it. even if it'll hurt like hell later.
Honestly you guys just need to watch 2 or 3 more thai bl dramas and you'll understand the film style that they use. Its completely different from western filming style. I'm sure Jason can see the similarities with this and a show like 7deLaan.

I love how after the kiss even though pran was trying to avoid pat, pat was right away from the beginning was trying to talk everything out and get a understanding about everything so he would know what to do next instead of ignoring everything and getting in his feeling for pran avoiding him. And the mom was really irritating me cause like I get you don’t like the parents but don’t take it out on or being the kids into it cause I’m sure she would be livid if they treat pran how she just treated pat in front of her. And shout out to pat for legit being so dedicated on getting pran to talk to him that he went somewhere alone without his friends to somewhere he not familiar with and not liked by anyone just to get pran to talk to him so he can understand him and their situation better like bro I would cry if someone did that for me. But idk if you noticed but the reason why pran is ignoring him and being closed off because last time him and pat talked he thought that pat liked ink and was together with her cause he saw them eating cakes together so he doesn’t know the whole conversation pat and ink had closing the one sided crush he had so pran thinks that pat is trying to two time him and Ink at the same time but if you notice once pat says he doesn’t like ink like that anymore pran goes back to his sassy and confident self when only pat is around again because now he knows that it’s just the two of them and not a love triangle like he thought pat was trying to make it. Even though he would have been figured that out if he would have just talked to pat like he really wanted to. And I love how pat was trying to get pran to talk to him but wasn’t being forceful or pushy about it like other bls would be and pat knew when to back off and give him some space etc and really shows how much he respects and care about what pran wants and needs. And I think that we all know that they both already know they like each other I think the competition was just a way for them to make a reason for them to actually flirt and maybe get together without them feeling to guilty towards their friends and family etc. and their talk on the beach of them just being free and themselves is just so beautiful I love it and how pran licked pats finger I wasn’t shocked he was that bold cause like he been liking him for years so of course now that he has his chance to actually do something about it he wanna finally let loose and be more bold than pat who is new to all this liking him thing I just can’t wait for you to see more.

I feel like you all are not understanding pran and the show coz off the cultural difference, in the west everything moves fast and people don't consider the consequences whether it's about people(friends) or parents accepting you but in Asian countries is soo different (there is no I in there, there is WE). First pran had a crush but that was safe and simple coz no one knew, his crush all of a sudden returned the feelings and lets not begin abt the family friends coz that is another story but because pran is the rational one in the relationship he is panicking in this episode which is totally fine.
Coming to pat (pat has my heart) the way he approached pran and how he finally made him talk was soo wholesome. And I see you all are tired of the competition but that is how pat made it easy for pran and its what they know best, they were competing since they were kids.
In conclusion this episode was needed and was true to the characters.

He doesn't want to start a relationship that means so much to him when he thinks it's doomed. He's been in love with Pat for years and all his feelings have ever brought him was pain. There are so many obstacles (their parents fighting, the looming threat of having to leave school, their friends constantly beating the shit out of each other, etc.). He doesn't see a future with him that won't end in devastation for him, so he'd rather cut his losses while he can. It sucks, but it makes sense.
Not to mention Pat told him he liked Ink like a day ago... Boy's gotta be kinda confused.

They're competing bc competing is their love language, but at this point both of them knew about their feelings... but at some point they'll put the competition aside for a moment and you'll see why 🤭
It's because of ink.. Pat like Ink in previous episode.... That's why pran avoid Pat...
Some things:
1-Just before the kiss Pat told Pram that he likes Ink. So... This is confusing for anyone.
2 - Families are a problem and Pram told his friend that when something has no chance of happening it's best not to start.
3 - Pram is serious and Pat jokes about everything. Pram is afraid of being more of something he doesn't take seriously.
4 - Pram keeps this feeling for Pat all his life and he's scared, he doesn't want to suffer even more. He is trying to protect himself.
the competition is the way they always have to stay close, it´s the only way they know to process everything and show love to each other. And Pran is worry for the families thing because he lost to much the last time
