I sincerely hope this game does well enough that we see remakes (or even just ports) for more of Quintet's SNES games. Giving Terranigma an official NTSC release would be awesome even if it's not a remake!
This game was always so obscure that in all my life I’ve never met another person online or in real life that has ever even heard of this game. Likely one of my favorite SNES games of all time.
I remember my brother had the first one on SNES. I think it was one of the first games I ever beat on the SNES. I never played the sequel though, but I'm looking forward to getting this.

Actraiser and actraiser 2 is some of the hardest shiat you will EVER play. My Dad beat both of them. Damn this takes me back. I’m 40 now and I remember thinking they were impossible to beat back then. Man I wish we could play this together. Wish I could see his reaction.
Both Actraisers are difficult (especially 2) and are great games, this remake was literally the thing I expected the least to be remade and my mind got blown, and now I find myself revisiting the original AND playing the remake simultaneously (not to mention that I double dipped for the game... Got it on PS4 and Switch)

I just downloaded this for m...I mean my 14 year old kid. We were 20 in college and used to rent not only the game but the console to play this. I think I just went back 30 years! At first we were so clueless we thought the entire game was just the little angel flying around until we figured out there were actual battle sequences. (Yeah, I know - an 8 year old at the time could have set us straight). Eventually we kind of knew this was an instant classic and a generation would remember it. This is great.
FINALLY! One of the GREATEST UNDERRATED games of all time gets a reboot. I have been wishing this for YEARS and now I have it! I cannot stop playing on the switch! Killer graphics, music and gameplay just doesn’t stop!

I couldn't scream because I was at work but... man, I got really happy and my partner at work noticed that because I got eager to complete my tasks just to go home and get the game (...twice) for my Switch (and Ps4 because... I had the chance to double dip for the game and I didn't mind about that at all, especially after quad-dip for other games like the Mega Man Legacy Collections).
Bruh, her BGM is literally called "KoroneRaiser - Inumore", and was composed by Actraiser's composer, Yuzo Koshiro, on original SNES soundchip equipment. It was a "birthday gift" commissioned for her hot off the heels of her Actraiser letsplay.
The mere fact this happened at all has me thrilled, especially as someone who grew up on Illusion of Gaia from the same original developer. ... That said I really hope they give this game some patches; the Switch version runs poorly without turning off background effects, player combat and enemy death animations feel a bit unfinished and clunky, and the lack of any sound or voice effects in text boxes makes much of the game feel very empty. As it stands, this is an okay $20 game being sold for $30.
Bought it the moment it dropped. And I couldn't be happier. I wasn't expecting so many new elements, nor to enjoy them as much as I currently am. Renaissance is a beautifully reimagined take on the (currently) 31-year-old classic and I highly recommend it. :)
Had an SNES strategy guide that talked about this one. Always wanted to play it but never had a console that had a copy I could play. Glad to change that now.
Yeah it's a REALLY weird looking game. Low-res pre-rendered sprites and some very odd choices (like the wiggling trees in Fillmore) but it does enough new and interesting stuff it's still worth looking at.
One of my absolute favorite and remembered games. So unique. Already bought and having fun. Definitely a new game in many regards retaining the spirit of the original

I wish this was a remake of Actraiser 2 instead which is a far more atmospheric and engaging game. There is hope i guess if this succeeds. I never imagined I'd see this franchise again though, so that's really cool.
It came to my mind, if this game succeeds, we could see an expanded version of Actraiser 2, back then I got dissapointed the Sim. mode was removed but even so, I couldn't hate the game at all because it was still good in it's own right (and I now have the idea to record a playthrough of the 2nd game too).

Oh man I can't wait to try this new Switch version. I just played this game a few months ago on SNES almost to completion but the final stage has like all 4 or 5 bosses you have to fight at the end, in one swoop, without being allowed to reup your hearts or magic, which was like impossible (for me) to do but still was a ton of fun. I just gave up eventually after trying 100+ times lol
Death Heim... yeah, the boss rush (and final) stage of the game, it has it's strategies to deal with, but one thing I can say for sure, is that the European SNES version got the hardest Death Heim while the USA is in the middle in terms of difficulty, I usually use the stardust spell for that Boss Rush... unless I'm playing the Special Act only mode in the USA or JPN release were you can't get magic, the Arcade and European versions modified item drops to never give you 1-ups but magics and max HP ups instead.
I yelped when I saw the few frames of this in the Direct. I still have this on SNES and still play it from time to time, absolutely hyped to get this new version!
While it's also on mobile, Ps4 and PC (via Steam), Nintendo was the responsable to make this unexpected remake shine and get sold on every platform (in my case I already bought the game twice, for my Ps4/5 and Switch because I had the resources to do so and I wanted to begin with anyway), I played Fillmore and Bloodpool but now I want to restart to record a proper playthrough.

Terranigma is truly a special game; played it last year when the pandemic really hit my area hard and it was a great escape at that moment.

I can't tell if this is half-assed or fully assed, but there are definitely corners cut in the visual department.
