Going to be honest, i dislike these unboxing videos. They arent very interesting and generally dont offer much value. Probably because watching unboxing videos is a niche category.
Unboxing videos can be boring, especially for such a basic product, but I find this one has an interesting twist to it.

The Trolley Bogan sure I have. I just prefer black coffee, with a little sugar or honey when the mood strikes me. My wife likes all those iced drinks. She really likes an iced Chai with 2 shot of espresso. I think that might be what Alyssa was calling a dirty Chai in the video.

Hey guys, this was one of those reality smacks! Loved the honesty .. I built a 3,600 sq.foot two story house from best house plans called Clara.. with mods! $2,600.00 in added sysmic restraints added post plan publication... Bout killed me! Oh the challenges! My wife hated the kitchen after it was framed up .. so I ripped it out and redid the whole kitchen an added two month delay. I was working 10 + 12 hours days over time as an aerospace technitian. And putting in 3-4 hours post work trying to get our house done.. my wife didn't help like you do Alissa.. not good memories for me... So glad you two keep the love alive and that you remember to live life while doing ... Blessings on you both! Ed

its an extra step and boil, but to keep the coffee hotter even longer, preheat the mug with boiling water for at least 2 min, dump that out and the mug will not pull the heat from your coffee as it will already be warmed up on the inside insulation and air gap.

Anyone that subs to your channel for very long gets how hard you both work at building your home, and anyone who has been off grid camping for even a week REALLY understands the hardships of your living arrangements. That said putting both of those endeavors together has to be Beyond anything I normal couple just starting out would want to do, all of those stresses jammed into your life on a day in Day Out basis is simply insane if you ask me. But one thing is for sure this endeavor will have cemented together your lives forever because there will be nothing that can tear you apart after what you've both been through with this project. I absolutely admire both of you for everything that you have accomplished and everything you will accomplish. I think when God made one of you he had the other in mind!
PS.....Nice jester on the mug, that young lady of yours works harder than two of most people. I must say even at the risk of not being PC or sounding sexist, for being a young beautiful young lady her sense & ability to jump in and learning/working/adventurism with things she has never done before and maybe normally considered "man's" work you have a real keeper in that lady And anything you can do to make her feel more comfortable and love ...you better do, because you would be a goof to risk losing her!

I have a Stanley coffee cup that I received from buying several Carhadt shirts......it cleans quite easily....all the parts tear down....into the dishwasher......the worst part of the mug is that it takes so dang long before it cools down enough to drink from....I stopped taking it to work because it was noon before I could drink from it.
Don;t let the nay Sayers get you down. They are not the ones putting in the long hours you are. learning as you go.....researching how to do things, then trying to implement the concepts. Sure you have setbacks.....at least both of you are trying.

I know that you folks are aware but there are a number of us that are addicted to your adventure that have rarely picked up a hammer and actually have no desire to do so. You are charming folk and are courteous, smart, and totally in love. Not to mention Alyssa's cute as a bugs ear and tough as a grizzly. Keep up the good work.
Just wanted you guys to know I look forward to your videos everyday. It's not just because I learn a lot from your day to day jobs, it's because I think you two are pretty much a perfect couple and are so lucky to have each other. It's great to see you two work through problems and take things in stride. I'd rather watch you guys then tv, your posts can easily be a tv show with great ratings just because of your personalities. Looking forward to every episode, just wish I found you guys in the beginning.
Still hard to believe only 2 people building a home, ordering all your tools and doing all your shopping and producing and video editing with only occasional help from friends. Wish I lived close to you guys to come help.

He's talking about going from a normal 9-5 job and going home to a low maintenance house where you don't have to change the fuel for the stove or heater. Where you donthave to worry about the water pipes/resovoir freezing. Where you don't have to worry about filling up a generator for power or moving solar panels.
The comfort that you take for granted daily vs the ones they have to work for daily. By no means do I pity them, but they certainly do have a 16 hour work load every day with their current situation.

You drink your coffee like my Grandpa did it was more like milk and sugar with a spot of coffee. My Grandma even kept the milk on the stove for him so it would be warm. He would let us have a sip and I couldn't wait until I could drink coffee, I was so disappointed when I found out that my Grandpa was the only one that made their coffee like that. I drink tea. LOL
I have a stainless steel flip-lid coffee mug from Thermos that keeps a full cup hot for over 12 hours, and all the sealing parts come apart for cleaning… and it is spill-proof, with a locking bail.

Hi, big fan of the show, about the window questions. I was in the Window Business for 6 yrs, even owning my own company. I can say with a certainty that for your build, you do not want a Wood Aluminum clad window, might appear nice to the eye. Over time, Wood, and Aluminum contract and expand at different rates, since they're basically glued together. In time they will separate. Your best bet are all wooden windows. Double or Triple pane, you want Low E glass, which you should know reflects radiant heat, which is what you heat your home, and also is the heat from the sun, so, in the winter time it makes you warmer, by reflecting heat back into your home. Then in the summer it reflects the suns heat back to the outside. Most people do not know, 87% of a homes heat lost is through their windows and doors. You made a comment about so called picture windows, just so you know, those are the easiest and cheapest windows made, we in the business call them, Dead Lights. So, if they say picture window, they're just trying to up the price. Be sure and get full screens in all windows you open. If the opening will allow, go with triple pane. In the long run it will save you a lot. Be sure and have double locks on the windows, if there is only one lock in the center, over time it made cause a slight sag on the ends of the windows. Because the weight of the window is on the center lock only. You can get a brown vinyl which will not fade over time. That's my 2 cents worth, hope it helps.

Be sure to get the leak proof lid. It's the only kind I buy. As I've got better things to do than clean up a leak in the bottom of my bag! There are so many products out there these days that there's no reason to compromise! Not compromising is the only way consumers have a voice letting manufacturers know what we want! That little talk you did right there, sitting on that sawmill bed, is THE thing that makes this channel different. Sure there are good videos and excellent, almost professional editing all over it, but moments like this one inject a dose of accessible humanity into the whole thing.
walmart sells a knock off of the yeti 20oz coffee cup for 8 bucs while they have a slot to drink from and are not spill resistant they work great and are cheap
The Yeti is def spendy. One of our friends had a mug that kept ice all day in the 100+ deg heat. Was impressive!
i have a 30 oz yeti and the walmart cups are identical even the lids exchange! and the walmart cup is a 1/3 of the price!

Excellent work--I think this along with your other videos will help show other people just how important her working on editing is--I am making you a house warming sculpture called "Natures House" 22 inches in diameter and 19 inches high--when it is finished it should be set on a 22 inch mirror so that the interior can be seen--I will send you photos of it when it is finished--you will have "First Refusal Rights" on it--if you do not want it or decide you can not use it then I will offer it for sale to others--but if you do want it then it is yours and we will need to have discussions on how to get it to you. I have been watching your videos for some time now and have always enjoyed them. But a few days ago I all of a sudden got the realazation that after watching them I experienced a warm and very happy glow. And today I found out why. It is the personality that comes through the videos of you two that does it. Reading the comments below I see that George Kozi hit it right on the head and much better than I could have said it. Jesse could do with some new boots 997 Blundstones to replace those comfortable old slip-ons with winter coming to keep warm and dry. They are laceup but with zipper for quick into and out.

The best travel coffee mug is and will ever be for me the contigo mug. You can open and close it with just one hand and it doesn't drip. Closed means closed. And they keep the drink, in my case tea, hot for at least 4 hours. and they are around 30euro in germany, so maybe in the US a bit cheaper. :)
I agree. I have had my Contigo for nearly 10 years now and it has never leaked. Not once. I have had Ice water in them that has stayed ice cold after being on the beach in the sun all day. In America you can get them on sale for about $15 but typically they run around $20-25 each. I have given at least 10 away as gifts I liked them so much. It is the best spill proof mug I have ever found.

We started our build over 20 years ago, it will never be done! However, the house was finished in three years and dried in a little over 1 year from start. May I suggest that when you get your house dried-in you take a week or two off and do something you always wanted. We spent a week in Yellowstone in the winter and came back renewed.

Haha...it would take quite a mug for me to get a $100 quality of life improvement. Money is a relative thing what one sees as a deal others will see as expensive. It's all about what you have coming into the bank.

Stainless steel with vacuum insulation inside are really awesome even for in the house. It keeps my water cool much longer and coffee nice and hot.
Really even a cheap one is better than any typical coffee mug or water glass. Even without a fancy lid.

If you notice that your coffee starts tasting super bitter after sitting in the cup for a while, like an hour or so, don't be surprised. I had to stop using the stainless steel mugs, though they retain the heat great for hours, because the coffee reacts to the metal really slowly. I love watching on you two work together. Your story about your journey reminded me of my dad telling me about my grandparents. They bought a small lot and my grandfather built a garage then they moved in to the garage with 5 kids while my grandfather built their house. I can't remember anymore how long they lived in the garage but I know it was through at least one winter.
