Green Island, Great Barrier Reef, Cairns, Queensland, Australia

Hey everyone, welcome back to our Fourth Series. For Episode 7 we visited Green Island which is just off of Cairns, Queensland Australia.
We began the day by boarding the Big Cat Green Island Great Barrier Reef Tour catamaran. We departed from Marlin Marina in Cairns before sailing the hour and a half journey to Green Island in the Great Barrier Reef.
When we arrived at the Island we began the day snorkelling as the staff on board advised this was the best time to go as it was high tide and in the afternoon it would be difficult to snorkel.
After watching the local wildlife we headed back to the catamaran for lunch and a complementary cuppa before booking onto the snorkel safari. The Safari allowed us to venture to the outer walls of the reef where there were a wider variety of marine life to check out. This tour lasted around 45 minutes and was lead by a marine biologist who was on hand to give us more information about what we were looking at.
Once the snorkel safari was over we headed back to the Green Island jetty before setting sail back to Cairns. We would highly recommend booking onto the Snorkel safari as you get to learn more about the animals living in the Great Barrier Reef while seeing a much wider variety of wildlife.
