Spend The Weekend With Us In Piha, Auckland | New Zealand
Welcome back to our Sixth Series! For Episode 13 we will be exploring Piha. Piha is home to a beautiful beach with Lion Rock at the centre, cliff top lookouts and Kitekite falls which we will take you on a tour of. Piha beach is a picturesque black-sand surf beach on the West Coast of Auckland which we thoroughly enjoyed exploring.
Lion Rock is actually an eroded neck of a volcano that erupted 16 million years ago. One of Auckland's best known natural landmarks was named lion rock due to its profile on the South side looking like a lion lying down. Its a great spot for a picture and was nothing like we had ever seen before.
On the way to PIha beach as the road drops down into Piha there is a great spot to see the beach and Lion Rock from above. The view was stunning and definitely worth the stop.
To get to Kitekite falls we parked up at Glenesk Road car park and hiked the 1.7 mile out-and-back hike to take in the beautiful 40 meter waterfall. Part way along the path it forks off and you can chose to view the waterfall from the bottom, top or both if you have time. We opted for the bottom as we thought it would be a better view, and we weren't disappointed. It is worth noting however that early on the trail there is a crossing over the Piha Stream which has been created using tree stumps and rocks, all of which aren't very stable under foot so if you do choose to do this activity be careful.
Piha on the whole is a beautiful hidden gem that is well worth the day trip.

Good choices but you wouldn’t get me in that boat! I did Sydney seaplanes, so know that a ‘Birds Eye view’ of Sydney is amazing, so not surprised your No 1 was the helicopter. Surprised bridge climb wasn’t in your list but maybe when you did the list you had t done the climb.

Having just found your TH-cam channel, I’ve randomly been watching your videos in Australia. It makes sense to scroll back and watch from the start, although your adventure started two years ago, I’m sure it will be good to follow you and watch the videos. The loud music makes it difficult to hear you talk, but it looks like you gave up your home, packed your bags and set off with your one year working visa.

You're welcome. Around Christmas we stayed in an Airbnb in East Killara. It was a unique experience being in a pool in the sun on boxing day being from England 😂~G

Wow, to see Sydney from the air is amazing. It also shows how big Sydney is, with so many lovely places.
Pleased you did the bridge climb, it’s an amazing experience. they put me at the front as I was so scared! Done the pylon twice, you can see so much, in your own time and can take photos. So pleased you did that as well.
Yeah we loved it too. Well done for overcoming your fear. We were at the back as we wanted to enjoy the view of the Opera House while people were getting their photos. Yeah the Pylon offers a great view of the Bridge but the climb up to it is tough🤣 ~G
Beautiful blue mountains. I couldn’t do the trails and hiking so was nice to see what I missed.

@@beckiandgeorge yes, I’ve been there twice, once on a coach tour and once by train. Both times just a day trip but did get to viewpoints, cable car etc.

Hey - loved the video. We're travelling to Bowness, Brokhole and Ambleside. Did you take the boat from Bowness pier or Ambleside pier? Heard the route from Bowness to Ambleside is the most scenic on the red route cruise.

Thanks for taking us to vivid Sydney, the botanical gardens looked amazing. Your VTs are very watchable, as the production is good. Some VTs on you tube are impossible to watch as they move the camera too fast, too slow, are all over the places with bad sound and content but you do well.

By chance I found this video, and I enjoyed it. However, Personally I prefer the sounds of the city and the environment rather than music especially this type of music which you tubers seem to like using. Thank you for taking us with you on your travels. It looks like you had a great time. I am going to watch your other videos, I love Australia and see you’ve also been to NZ, somewhere, sadly, I didn’t get too, so look forward to that.

You did not even finish the walk around to Camp Cove! 15 minutes further around the coast to the best beach on the harbour. So disappointing 😕
