I know this was recorded a bit ago but both that vampire deck and the spirit precon have partner with creatures as alternate commanders, for strefan's deck it's kamber, the plunderer and laurine the diversion (the spirits deck with milicent has rhoda geist avenger and timin, youthful geist as the alternate)
I was gonna bring this up too. I want to figure out a good deck for them
Chulane runs rampant in my play group so I buikt Rhoda and Timin and have fun with it.

1:45:23-1:46:00 I have never been happier watching LRR. Graham and Ben made me feel like I was watching a Monty Python skit and wish that we could see a moment like that as a Sick Rip for the March of Machines PPR.
Graham playing Strefan in the Midnight Hunt vs Crimson Vow precon battle was what got me into magic, so I'm very glad to get to watch him play Strefan again!
Side note: I still play Strefan and he’s one of my fave decks, thanks to Graham’s blood shenanigans

Innistrad's vampires do have reflection, however, what It shows is their true, distorted selves as the monsters they are. As such, they avoid mirrors to delude themselves in their concepts of beauty and power.

The Duplicant has the P/T that is printed on it. The P/T setting ability states "As long as a card exiled with Duplicant is a creature card", so if there is no card exiled then that ability does nothing.
That's my understanding as well. Come someone, argue for 0/0!

It's interesting to think the Duplicant could be a 0/0 on the board (and then obviously be sacrificed in this game specifically to state-based actions) due to copy shenanigans.. This is my obligatory response due to the engagement of a call to action.
This game was amazing. Princess was absolutely hilarious, but the group chemistry overall was dynamite; I hope you have both guests back for a future episode!
Deahtbringer Thoctar is one of my favorite EDH cards, happy to see it make an appereance! Especially when you have a hardened scales or similar effects out.

48:04 It is possible to stack it so that Blood Artist only gets one trigger. 1 to the BA, 1 to Princess, and one to the Archpriest, then the second ability deals 1 to Nalia and 2 to the Archpriest, after BA is dead.
I literally squealed out loud while by myself in my apartment when I saw this in my feed.

I just have to appreciate Princess’ defense of “I’m a good person I’m just an Aries” (22:17-22:20). As a fellow Aries during Aries season, I have never felt more understood bc this is exactly how I feel when I’m playing commander 😅😂♈️😤
Edit: just finished the video; the psychological power dynamic in this game was flawless 👌🏼 real insights have been made into these players’ psyches😂

I love statements like "isn't it funny how only the white deck is ramping" because like, yes, white is the best at ramping after green :p
Land ramp specifically. Red and Black are better than White at generating mana though. People often miss these nuances in the color pie.
@@Mordalon I'd say rakdos is a good deal worse than white even counting rituals and mana doublers, since all of black's ramp requires significant setup and red's rituals often don't translate well into commander. certainly in the context of a Wheel of Precons I would expect white to outramp grixis easily.

Duplicant refers to the exiled card. Since the Commander was returned to the command zone, there is no card exiled by Duplicant, so it should be a 2/4. Not sure why it'd be a 0/0.

Graham is one of the few existing beings that i dont know that i cant help but adore.
Interesting line, when you swung with steel hellkite for the first time, if you had made a copy of your sol ring, you had enough mana and artifacts with osgirs pump ability to actually just one shot prosh.
I was also waiting for here to discover this line. She also could have copied Great Furnace in order to ramp and Commander's Sphere in order to ramp and draw cards. But Osgir offers so many lines and the deck is hard to play the first time.

the precons in general are fairly balanced against each other, which is amazing for a product that's been in constant production for years.

it might be fun to, as a general rule, switch to alternate commanders that haven't seen play on EDSC yet if their deck comes up twice. Strefan could have been replaced by Kamber + Laurine (they have Partner With) and Nalia could have been Burakos + Folk Hero (since Background works like Partner does).
As a counter point, it’s nice to see decks get a second spin. There’s a lot of variance in Magic so if a commander didn’t pop off once it might look lame when it’s actually a cool card.
