Love for adventure and pushing my limits is what led me to master the fine art of Bikepacking and I am happy to report that after 20 years I still am very much in love with the process and the places that this form of travel provides.
September 18th was the inaugural running of the Mega Mid South. I couldn’t pass up the chance. I mean, I have been to the inaugural TNGA, Rode the Jasper Segment of the Great Divide the first time it opened, the Inaugural Stagecoach 400 in California, I have a long list of being at the first of many great rides. The stars had truly aligned for me to make it to this one.
Mega Mid South was Hot and challenging, and although my plan to finish in 48 hours didnt work out, I defaulted to my other goals, one of which was to finish the ride.
Took me 71 hours and 2 minutes to finish the ride.
    Day 1 150 miles
    Day 2 33 miles
    Day 3 128 miles
This video is long, but I really think it’s a good story, give it a watch, share it, enjoy it.
Huge thanks to Toni Valley for holding things down at home so I could make this adventure.
Gary Cors for sharing the drive with me and waiting for me to finish up and for the during and finish video clips.
Bobby and Crystal from District Bicycles for facilitating the event and being all around awesome folks.
Jcs Bike shop for always being supportive of my efforts.
Rodeo Labs for making Rad Bomb Proof Bikes
Red Shift Sports for helping go faster, farther with great comfort.
Erik Mathy for contributing some great photos to make my video even better.
Our next Adventure is Tango Through Hell, 229 miles which after the Mega should be a piece of cake.
Thanks for watching and Take Care,
    Karlos
