Sorry, but "I Put A Spell On You" is a 1956 song written and composed by Jalacy "Screamin' Jay" Hawkins and has been covered by numerous artists. Look it up on Wikipedia. But yeah...great stuff! 😊
@@CAGED1702 Hi Charly. If you look my video lesson" I put a spell on you" I in the notes also mention Screaming Jay Hawkins as the composer. Truth is however that apart from beiing a minor slowblues the original and Robben Fords "composition" has very little correlation. Because of that I allow myself to talk about Robben Fords composition instead of an interpretation of this blues classic. many greetings Soeren
That was sublime. I've never heard this before so I looked up the album "Larry Carlton, & Robben Ford Unplugged" and it's all good. And that's how I'm starting off this Christmas morning. 😊
Love the nuances between these two friends.. so beautiful. I too am curious who made Robben's beautiful nylon Tele. Larry's guitar appears to be his Valley Arts...
Waiting for this to load there is an ad for a lesson online from some guy named Carlos Santana........who the heck is that? Carlos taught me one VERY important thing on his insert on the Abraxas album - he said "thank God I never took lessons" thats the day I threw out all the paper and played from my heart. What a difference in my playing since then...Thank you guys!!!
Learning guitar notation/should be in every guitarist musical journey,as it opens different musical portals ..if he depends too much on guitar tabs, then he'd be disadvantaged🙏🙏🙏✊✊✊
its a flat pick but I bet he holds it on the side like SRV did (me too) it gives a softer tone than the point. Robben is using his right hand fingers as does Larry later on. The tru masters hold the pick AND use other 3 fingers same time see Danny Gatton and Greg Koch - both masters of this technique.
In my 65+ years of listening to great guitarists nothing compare to these virtuosos!!
What a fabulous combination.....Larry is not only BRILLIANT, but probably the most "generous" musician on stage....
Larry has never played a sour note or a bend out of perfect pitch in my listening over 40 yrs
Boy I'd pay lots of money to see this. Kudos to the bass and drummer following their every whim.
I paid a a a a bit toe see Robben at Yoshis in Oakland Ca- he signed a pic of me and my guitar in 1968 we started on same model a Guild Starfire III
Can't think of any two players I would rather hear complementing one another.
Carlton and Ford are amazing always but what an incredible band. Those four guys were killing it!😊
WOW WOW WOW…..what a great Gift….thx thx thx👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🦋🦋
The Guitar Gods is a correct title for these two. SUPERB!!!
I put a spell on you. Maybe my favorite Robben Ford composition. Great stuff, thanks for sharing

@@CAGED1702 Thanks a lot
@@CAGED1702 this arrangement by Robben is beautiful & with Larry Carlton's input , WOW, sensational i think is the right word...
Love this album. A perfect combination - they really play nicely off each other.

Robben needs no markers on his fret board and could play this with no frets I bet!

Those Changes,
What is the brand/make of the guitar Robben is playing?
***** It's a nylon stringed guitar with piezo bridge element made by a Japanese builder, Toru Nittono.
@@nuxuk custom made, he mentioned somewhere...
Yummy!
can anyone tell me the name on Larry carlton's picking technique on his solo plz?

spell binding
I found Larry's solo to be vacuous and bittersweet...
not "languid and bittersweet. . . . ." ?
