  • The Yamaha PSR-S700 is one of the giants among home keyboards. It is laden with features and the potential is huge. But achieving potential is a journey and do we really want the journey to be this ...sonically boring?

    Even for today's standards, the S700 is still a decent keyboard. The rhythms might be out of date, but the preset tones can still keep up with the recent entry-level models

      Yes, I agree with you. Thinking back I could have given it a bit more of a chance than I showed in this demo.

    Haven't you tried the organ drawbars which are on the screen & will realy improve organ sounds? Layering & tweaking most sounds improves them a lot. Many sonds even come from the Tyros 1 KB.
    I have one of these -a great keyboard if you tweak things a bit even altering the volume mixing for each rhythm part. Very few keyboards sound great straight out of the box. Sadly I no longer use it as I no longer have the time to get into it.

      I did, and I can see your point. But after reviewing so many synthesizers and workstations I’ve found that there are just so many out there that provide instant and hugely superior results for mediocre players such as myself! Overall it’s a quality machine in my humble opinion: Good at everything but not brilliant at anything.

      I don't think it does. You need a Yamaha PSR-E or PSR-OR type of keyboard for that.

      I don't have this keyboard anymore, but I thought the Mega voices were just among the normal sound list. I suggest googling "PSR-S700 PDF" so you can serch it up in the manual. Sorry, it's been a while :) Gearfacts

    How do you connect a cable from this keyboard to a video camera to capture sound while recording the video?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you use the line out sockets, you still get sound through the speakers. So you can connect your line outs to the sound recorder, then sync it up to the video when you upload it to your PC :)

      PSR-3000, S900, S700, S710, S910, S670 and S750 sounds pretty much similar aside from minor differences and additions. If you're looking for a Yamaha arranger keyboard with a different and new sounds, try at least PSR-S950, S770 and S970. These have sounds derived from Yamaha's flagship lineup, the Tyros
