Yup: Q: You're speaking with an English accent-- is that what I'm hearing? Justin: Yeah-- we've been listening to this Ricky Gervais podcast. It's hilarious dude. You've gotta download it. I just downloaded it on iTunes. pitchfork.com/features/interview/7502-bon-iver/
This version definitely brings back some more sounds and voice from his older albums and combines with his new style. Can't say I like it better but this version is better than the studio for sure. Really wish he'd come to dallas to play
He clearly used it there near the end. This new album by him is so goddamn soulless compared to his earlier works. Bogged down by synth and artificial beats and rhythms. Really disappointing.
No I mean do we know that the brand of vocal effects pedals are actually Helicon? They're a bit low end is all aren't they? I know he made that vocoder machine, The Messina or whatever it was, I just doubt whether he'd actually go for Helicon
Really, you think so? I mean, yeah it's super heavy on sound distortion and manipulation but to call it soulless is really unjust I think. It just takes some work to find the soul in it. Like just listen to 715 CREEKS or whatever the fuck and tell me that behind all those layers of vocal manipulation there isn't a man completely on the edge of breaking down.
You can get the hint of that rick. I've listened to this album and have found some beauty in it. Especially in straffordapts. But the digital distortions are just cheap tricks to help heighten the emotion that is being conveyed. And with cheap gimmicks come the eventual wearing thin. Compare Holocene with 715 CREEKS. Holocene is still ageless and can still rack your fucking soul. After three listens of 715 CREEKS all I hear is kanye west's influence on Bon Iver. Which actually makes me infuriated seeing as I held Bon Iver is such high esteem as an artist to create his own sound which resonates deep within his listeners. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong and out of touch. But I personally have lost a bit of respect for him because of this album.
14 Aspen Drive no listen, the reason he struggles is because his voice is not used to the key, then the rest of the band comes in and u can easily tell they are not in the same key as him. Then u can clearly see him move the capo and changing key
TylertheRecreator Yeah he has the capo on the wrong spot in the beginning, which makes him sing off key at first. But the comment was about him not remembering lyrics. 2 different things my g
@@14AspenDrive thats not a piece of paper. its a screen that he uses as an interface to modulate the prisimizer effect he uses on his voice. its not simply autotune its a whole sound effect he had engineered similar to how Kanye had his own prisimizer effect engineered by professional audio engineers
Best track of the album. Pure art
This is better than the studio version
He has such a charm here, can’t stop watching.

Does he actually use them though?

Already almost two years old😑damn
DRUNK ASF XD
your fav is radiohead?
The girl who says "hey" at the start sounds hot
wtf comment is that?
just a little joke m8
@@tyger- jokes on you mate. Tom Carroll went on to marry that girl who said “hey” at a Bon Iver concert all this years ago.
Anyone else think this song was about a woman named "Sharon Smoke?"
Where were your seats?
sayanythingrock VIP lol
😂😂😂😂
Anyone else feel like Justin has a terrible problem with remembering lyrics? Lol
Brendan McDonald he didn’t forget the lyrics he was in the wrong key
TylertheRecreator he's reading the lyrics off paper, man.. nothing to do with the wrong key
14 Aspen Drive no listen, the reason he struggles is because his voice is not used to the key, then the rest of the band comes in and u can easily tell they are not in the same key as him. Then u can clearly see him move the capo and changing key
