Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House is a 2002 American made-for-television Christmas family comedy film directed by Rod Daniel, written by Debra Frank and Steve L. Hayes. Produced by Fox Television Studios and distributed by 20th Television. A sequel to Home Alone (1990) and the fourth film of the Home Alone franchise. It's the first made-for-television film in the franchise and it was the last film that Rod Daniel directed before his subsequent retirement. The film stars Mike Weinberg as Kevin McCallister, French Stewart as Marv Murchins, Missi Pyle as Vera Murchins, Erick Avari as Mr. Prescott, Joanna Going as Natalie Kalban, with Jason Beghe as Peter McCallister, and Clare Cary as Kate McCallister. The film received negative reviews from critics for recycled gags with none of the original's charm. Spawned two sequels Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012) and Home Sweet Home Alone (2021).
