- This super cool apartment isnt massive, but its AFFORDABLE (for most new yorkers) and thats a good thing because the city needs more apartments that are in line with “starting out”, but aren’t also 1000 years old like most of the currently available “cheap” inventory.

My grandson is going to college in NYC and I have been worried but not anymore Cash I will be sending him to see you when he's ready to go. I feel so much better thanks to your channel I don't have the fear of him living in the city. You show everything that is possible and where to find great locations. Certain parts of New York are stressful but certain parts are beautiful and peaceful! I visit my sister there often, I find the most peaceful areas to be parts of Brooklyn and Queens, but even in Manhattan you can find areas that are quiet and peaceful. I think your grandson will enjoy it, especially because you can find all kinds of food, cultures, experiences in one place. Despite the housing being expensive (though much cheaper outside of Manhattan) most things like cafes, restaurants, groceries etc are very affordable and accessible. I remember getting top tier food for 1/3 the price in Brooklyn that I'd get it for in Manhattan 😅
NYC is really pretty safe. It's what's going on inside the university classrooms that you should be worried about. I have 2 relatives who went to city universities level headed teens and came out indoctrinated shells of their former selves. They hate their upbringing, their country, and most sadly, themselves.

I agree about the 8 x 8 bedroom being ridiculous. Many of us like room in our bedrooms for a bedside table with a lamp, maybe another bedside table, and a dresser. This room barely has enough space for a bed.
A really cool building and appartments. BTW, how is it possible that I started watching this channel out of curiosity alone as TH-cam promoted it in my suggestions and now it became my every day relax routine after work? :D

It's amazing what residents in NYC will accept as living quarters.
When I was young, Bushwick was a "no go" zone. Now, it appears to be gentrifying but you can still get a reasonable price space - for now. I would still check out the areas statistics.
I thought the brownstones there were nice & pretty pricey.
Bushwick is still "iffy."

The first unit is what I would go with. The unit I would really love is $3500 roof unit that that dentist lived in.

The building has amenities including laundry and a gym, and everything is brand-new. The one-bedroom ($3,100) is quite small (8X8 bedroom), but it has that enormous rooftop deck. The two-bedroom ($3,725) has larger rooms and a small balcony. The three bedroom for not much more also has decent-sized rooms but smaller closets, and it has a balcony. As far as value is concerned, apartments 2 and 3 give you more square footage for your money.
A half bathroom would have been a nice touch in the 3 bedroom.

The bedrooms seem rather small in all of them but I'd still probably prefer the first one because of the private outdoor space

Greg has a cold personality, or NO personality. A man can be "real" and not phony and still be warm and charming, like Cash.

What I did like about these units is that one doesn't have to traverse through a designated bedroom in order to access an outside area. It seems that dilemma was the only thing that we were seeing as of late.
I'll never get used to seeing the kitchen by the front door. Usually the front door is in the living room. But those apartments were very nice for the price. Good morning , Cash

The first place is small but it has a lot of light and there is an elevator, so that is a big win for me.

Yes the floors would be easy to clean, but very hard on the feet and very cold in the winter. They rather look like a lobby floor in a Dr's office...
@@richardvinsen2385 Really? I never would have guessed! If I wanted carpet OR A RUG I'd seek out an apartment with a carpet or a rug. And even if I put a rug which I wouldn't, i would still see the borders which look like a doctor's office floor and it would still be cold and still be hard and still be ugly...

Did I see an advertisement selling pizza at $34 for a whole pie? What? When did that happen? While these units are nicely priced (and brand new) whoever designed these layouts and designs... it didn't work. Why are the closets so narrow? Cash clearly demonstrated that one closet was unusable. If he could barely fit into it, then most of us never will. The bedrooms are small. Greg told the truth when he said a full-size bed fits. I just don't see queen-size bedding fitting comfortably in those spaces along with other furnishings. Then what was the thinking behind the flooring? Nuh-Uh. Nope! The one bedroom ($3100/month) offers the better value, (IMHO) because of that large private terrace. The two-bedroom ($3700/month) didn't appeal to me--even though it's basically the same thing. The $4K-plus three-bedroom... and only one bathroom? Nope.
You need 3 roommates just to order pizza in NYC
They felt extra cold & sterile to me with those institutional floors. You're right about the closet, it could barely fit a Dyson vacuum.
I'm really late with my reply/review 2day. I totally forgot to say anything about the closets lol. How did that happen? But definitely not impressed with these
Great place. That last tiny narrow closet in the bathroom is great to put your vacuum and other cleaning supplies in. You can use one of those claw from the dollar store to grab things and put things on the shelf even if you want, such as toilet paper. I actually like the floor instead of having always the wood.
Also, hope your new baby girl is doing well. I would love to see a short update on your lovely and beautiful family.

Time stamp 8:34, the #1 unit deck is there a limitation as to what you can put kn the deck? Could you put a Pergola out there? For shade. I would jungle it up out there. The kitchen back spash is Gorgeous! You crack me up. Fantastic bathroom!
$3400 for a two bedroom in that neighborhood is the opposite of cheap.
Plus thats only over the first year it seems.
These are all kind of fabulous. Modern, good amenities, roof with a view,quiet-ish and good (for NY) price.

I live in brooklyn i lived here my whole life. This is completely insane. They are really trying to squeeze as many people as they can in this damn city. Over 3k for a 2 br that small??!?? I hate this city yet i love it and im never leaving ! 😫😫😫😫😫😫

I love that first apartment the floors won me
It's a brand new building! Yay! It has an elevator! Yay! No one has ever lived in those apartments! Yay! But let the reality sink in. It's definitely not finished. The rent is not set in stone. The prices quoted were what the landlord/owner is considering renting the units for. Price might be higher. There's a gym but does it cost extra? How much extra will parking be & how many cars can the garage accommodate? The "kitchen on a wall" in all these is small & lacking decent counter space. I don't believe the dishwashers are full size which might not be bad in the 1 bedroom but the larger units??? & where's the SINK SPRAYER? The deck on the 1 bedroom unit was nice & spacious but you can't sleep on it. That bedroom is not much bigger than a jail cell. The others weren't as small thankfully but... & even if you wanted to you couldn't go out on the balcony on the 2 bedroom bcuz the door lock was broken. The 3 bedroom unit only had 1 bathroom? In almost every place we're seen (except the really old buildings) the master bedroom has had its own en suite. If you like concrete floors then it's great but I think they just cheaped out not putting in wood floors.
@Vincent Goupil I have those kind of windows & you're right about air flow. Bcuz I'm above tree level I get no breeze at all unless it's almost a hurricane.

Oh dear; no sink sprayer and the refrigerator door opens the wrong way! What were these people thinking? And are those terrazzo floors or just a finish over concrete? Three bedrooms with one bath; I don't know about that unless it's for a family, a couple with two kids. Three roommates would have to work out a strict schedule or not mind being a bit more "intimate" than most folks. All of the apartments' closets are way too small. Still, the finishes are nice and the place is brand new. Wonder how much the next years rent will increase; you might have to move out.

Bushwick, Brooklyn was not someplace that anyone would want to live in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Heroin, crack, and crime, destroyed the place, but Bushwick has made a major comeback in the last 10 years. It has been Yuppie-fied and the rents are now sky high.

I just moved out of a place right there! I had to do a double take lol. That was my Blink, my deli, and Chez Alex is an absolutely killer cafe!! Highly recommend trying the Clubhouse sandwich if you're in the area

If I were living by myself, the one bedroom would be just fine for me. I prefer a new building with more modern apartments. These aren’t bad.
Nice apartments at a decent price. Do the bathroom mirrors have medicine cabinets behind them? My only wish would be in-unit laundry, but the basement common ones ones look good.
