Hello, Gary. I love your bus. I can see that it's going to be very functional, with great heating and cooling. I especially like the large upper space, with great insulation. And elsewhere. I'm real impressed. Happy travels.
LOVE the that the kitchen is in the back and the raised roof for sleeping. Can hardly wait to see the finished bus. Your commentary is HILARIUOS😂...As long as you're HAPPY with YOUR BUS that's where it's at.
That's a really unique skoolie. I was planning an over cab loft for the grandkids on our conversion. Good to see one done. Looking forward to seeing more as you progress.
Incredible layout and workmanship. Your tour and sense of humor are refreshing as hell. Really looking forward to seeing the progress listening to you describe it. When you went to tell how to beat the dizziness, I was waiting for you to say Dramamine. I like your style. Thanks for showing your bus and some laughs.
@@garyfliess4375 Why be an asshole to your viewers? That comment you made was unnecessary and very rude. What's the point of you having a TH-cam channel if you're going to act immature and disrespectful to the viewers? Grow up.
I’m glad you posted this- I’m planning my own now do I need to watch videos like this. I appreciate it. Hysterical about don’t complain to me LOL that’s awesome.
Hi Gary, that's a great new life for a "short bus". I have driven many over my 20+ years transporting kids. Only thing I didn't like was the blind spots for traffic and joggers coming from right and left. Several close calls! This is going to be very comfortable. Have fun!!
I am wondering if well placed video cams would give better vision of previous "blind spots"? cams are quite inexpensive these days. Where would you place them to catch the traffic sneaking up on ya?
What a cool bus you have! The roof extension is really amazing! I really appreciate your handy work! I recently bought a 2002 Bluebird bus, was a red cross blood bank bus, gonna make it into an RV. So watching your video is very inspiring, your thoughts on mech systems. I like how you put the water heater up above, looks like it should be very accessible for any servicing. I look forward to seeing how you progress! Thank you for sharing! God bless! And have fun with it!!!
Hater gonna hate, that's what they do! Loved the video, I couldn't get over how neatly the metalwork was attached with ever rivet lined up perfectly. The raised roof and all that insulation will make a big difference. I hope you don't get discouraged by the knuckle-headed haters and shows us you work as you go along. Thanks for sharing.
Did a sweet job. On the entire conversion especially the roof conversion and the HVAC systems be careful on the Little Buddy heaters. I bought one myself based on what they claimed on the boxes then read some online reveiws on how dangerous they really are wound up using it to heat a roofed in area that had plenty of fresh air circulation on my Flybridge fishing boat that my fishing buddies used as a smoking area to warm up on cold fishing trips incidently it was also a area that i drove from so i went and bought battery powered Carbib oxide detectors just to be safer
You are so funny! You had me laughing with your comments! Genuine! It Felt good to laugh! Hahahaha The school bus conversion project is wonderful! I just came across your youtube channel and subscribed. I enjoyed the video! Looking forward to the progress and result of the school bus conversion to an RV! Thnx for sharing. 'Keep-On-A-Rocking-N-A-Roling!' :)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!! I can't wait to see it done!!!! Can I inherit your awesome bus? This is what I mostly had in mind, I LOVE the thin bricks around the fire place, I chose the same flooring for my front room, the overhang is what I want (outside, I would put a back porch with a cool post at each end with short banisters all around, and have a porch lite - would be so adorable!). I want the compost toilet too. Every major thing you did is what I would do! I love it! Thanks sooo much for sharing!
A very interesting design! Like the heater (wood stove) wonderful insulation. But there are some states where it's illegal to keep converted school busses yellow.
Finally someone else n a bus that smokes cigars. It's pretty rare to find anyone else that doesn't drink though.... You should consider sobriety, it's alot better, I'm coming up on 9 years in March. I do like hwta you did with your bus. We use a little buddy, just one will do great in your space, we nee another but we mostly dry camp so we use electric.
Wow! Im subbing...Hoping i can get some pointers from YOU!! Im very impressed and ive seen many conversions... This has to be in the top 3 of my picks!!
Sir, you have every reason to be very proud, wish I had your skills, hope to see the end result eventually, and as for your commentary, it is perfectly acceptable!!
thanks for the video. ....I was wondering how I was going to raise the roof on my same size bus .....you gave me a few great ideas .....how well does that stove work .....I'm in maine ....thanks for the info
The Cubic Mini stove is a great little stove at a decent price, though it takes some practice to make it work well. I welded up a mini grate for the fire to sit on which made a huge difference.
Just find you, absolute love it... Still working on the money for my bus. Inspired me to bring back some of my old ideas. And I'm with you, no black water. Sorry got to run, not dizzy but the chaser sounds like a good idea... Later.
I'm impressed with your metalworking skills. Only "lofts" I've seen on skoolies were cars welded on top. This looks like it came from the factory. My 2 biggest dislikes of school busses are the low ceilings & lack of insulation. You fixed both of those issues. How tall is this thing? I heard in some states you cannot have a yellow bus (except for a school). But this looks more like an RV than a bus. Good job. Screw the haters. They're just envious of your work.
I have another video, a slide show actually, that shows some of what I did. Just type Gary Fliess into you tube and it'll come up. I cut the original roof line and slid it back and raised it up.
Well, it’s been eleven months since you’ve put this video up, I’m thinking you must have it completely by now, so I’m going to take a look. I think you’ve done a fabulous job and well thought out. It’s pretty incredible really. Hope you’re really proud of all of your hard work. You’ve done great. Be well and stay smiling, Ma’iingankwe
odd, weird, off the spot - those are the words i can come up with about this project, however - cool, nice, cozy, i wish i could - these are the words i'm left with! well done, mate!
Gary, have you driven it yet to see how much your road noise is abated by your insulation? I know that motor box will give off a lot of engine noise until it's covered, but I just wondered if the regular road noise decreased a lot with the floor and sidewalls insulated as well as you have done it. I drive them daily and yours looks awesome!!
nice! video is good for your first. just a tip, a wider lense/angle would show more. got nothing to do with skills thats ur camera not being able to do so. and a bit slower in moving. just a tip. I subbed and hope to see more soon! cheers
alot of Spaceeee **** can't wait to see it when Your done so please tage me in this.. I am also looking for a small bus and i Absolutely Love that You can have two floors Wow Awesome :)
Hi Gary its a lovely bus you got there; what did you paint it with and what sort of paint? i'm over in the UK in Wales and I have a box van which I hope to paint now soon when the weather gets warmer.
You’re going to put the heater (which keeps things warm) right below the refrigerator (which keeps things cold) knowing that hot air rises, and cold air falls? You are working at cross purposes with yourself and you will use all your electricity while those two cancel each other out. Maybe you need to think again.
Hello, Gary. I love your bus. I can see that it's going to be very functional, with great heating and cooling. I especially like the large upper space, with great insulation. And elsewhere. I'm real impressed. Happy travels.
Really love how you've thought this through & made use of the space. Can't wait to see the video of the finished product👍
LOVE the that the kitchen is in the back and the raised roof for sleeping. Can hardly wait to see the finished bus. Your commentary is HILARIUOS😂...As long as you're HAPPY with YOUR BUS that's where it's at.
Outstanding! Plenty of thought went into it. That's pretty obvious. You have not failed to impress. Keep us updated please.
That's going to look AWESOME!!!! love the top you welded on it! just a fan of taking care of old things, smile!!!!!!
Good job Gary, look forward to seeing the finished product. .give em hell man !

Thanks. That was kind of a quickie tour. I may put up another video soon showing a couple details left out of that one.
Gary Fliess are you going to give us a tour when completed it looks great so far would like to see the finished product!

Love your casual "deal with it" attitude...had me lol. Bus looks really good.

I hope I can be as great of a craftsman as you, looking forward to more updates:)
Thank you for the tour you've given me a couple of good ideas,
Nice. I love that you went all out on the insulation.
Great job! Sorta looks like the ones I drove for 20+ years!

I love the design in all if you go to fast and try to stop to do a turn it's going to tip over if you don't have a lot of weight on the bottom half
A very interesting design! Like the heater (wood stove) wonderful insulation. But there are some states where it's illegal to keep converted school busses yellow.
I love your bus...raising it is so awesome.
Like the raised roof. Looks good. You need to beef up the rear suspension - sitting too low on the axle / tires...
Hey cool. You also did a conversion on base of a Thomas Vista 🚌, 😊
With the effort put into the metal work I think you owe yourself a set of shiny chrome hubcaps!
Congrats and enjoy. Being a short bus makes it even greater.
Great to see some other loft beds in a bus 👍 We have 3 lofts in ours for the kids 😜
Finally someone else n a bus that smokes cigars. It's pretty rare to find anyone else that doesn't drink though.... You should consider sobriety, it's alot better, I'm coming up on 9 years in March.

March 2019 Excellent build. Please consider installing a small hand size wind generator for electricity when the sun goes down.
Great looking rig, well done!
Looks great and fits perfectly with the Vista type bus. Congrats!

Love your work. Looking forward to next vid, subbed.
Nice work. You need to upgrade the drive axle for great weight rating and better highway speed. I've always liked this body style.
Awesome ! I'm converting a 1998 Dodge 3500 Ram into a work / camper van.
Looking forward to the finished Bus
Love your Big Bird.....!

Awesome, can't wait to see it all finished. 🚌
Would love to see it when it is all finished.
What engine do you have in the bus? Like the video a lot and I like what you did with the top of the bus COOL

Hi Gary its a lovely bus you got there; what did you paint it with and what sort of paint? i'm over in the UK in Wales and I have a box van which I hope to paint now soon when the weather gets warmer.
Hermoso trabajo
Hey gary i like your conversion !!!😍
