Dean Smith was such an important part of our story but Emery has been the catalyst for real change. His respect for the club, its fans, its history is so important. I love the current squad and it’s such a good time to be a Villa fan

When he came in, we all thought, "let's get to midtable and we can thnk about Europe for next season." Emery replied, "No, let's get European football this season, and we'll aim higher next year." Then, we thought "If we can do well in the Conference League, and maybe qualify again for Europe this season, maybe we can challenge for top 4/Champions League next season. Emery again "No, let's do well in the Conference League, AND qualify for Champions League, and we'll aim higher next year." Here we are. Where's he taking us next? UTV

Ive been telling anybody that would listen that we will be in this position now, purely on the fact of what the owners did with milwackie bucks. Proof was there from day 1 in the championship how capable they are at what they can do 😊 best time ever.
Completely agree with McGinn owning the captains armband, made much easier on the pitch with Ty getting injured. It was the best thing for McGinn's captaincy.. and overall Villa have benefitted from it now that Mingsy is back that we have 6/7 leaders in the team.
I recall tier one reports saying Villa were "now after an elite manager" with a short list of Unai, Tuchel and Poch. Unai was always my first choice - you look at his record, he's simply an incredible manager.
Imo, every game pre Emery was the flip of a coin, no game was a certainty & no lead was safe, elation was as possible as sorrow with no rhyme or reason and we were the one team you’d never see on an accumulator…… that’s why we love Unai, ump-teen years of nervous trepidation have been trumped with consistency, expectations and excitement to go with our ever present pride … it’s the first time in my 40 years of supporting the club that I’m not hiding behind the sofa and instead I’m enjoying what I’m watching and understanding of what we are trying to be UTV

But look at how to actually win in this era. Man City are almost always in the Final and no chance we go into a FA/Carabao Final as favorites against Man City. For us to win we’d need a lot of luck around the tournament and I think that’s an unrealistic ask at the present
@@Khareeee We've been the underdogs for virtually every cup final we've won. Add to that runners up in 2015 and 2020 all with fairly/bang average teams and managers. Given the comparisons to now, I think it's fair to expect a trophy.
