The club should be sent a strong message about the horrendous prices. In an ideal world, fans wouldn't buy the tickets, but that won't happen. I think it would be a strong message if there was an organized boycott of spending in the stadium for the Bayern match, so concourse and club shop takings are massively down. Isn't going to make a massive difference in the grand scheme of things, but maybe the club will realise if they try and squeeze and extra 20 quid over here, they'll lose it over there
TBH, I'm with the don't go contingent. Let them play to an empty stadium. Think of the optics of that. Heck doesn't understand the audience in the stadium is limited to people who go to Villa Park. If they stay away, are Blues fans going to pay a hundred quid to watch the Villa? Football is a business, but it's not show business.
100% agree about people claiming season ticket holders are lucky!!! We stuck with club in the Championship so our responds is “where were you when we were shit” and the club had to close the Upper Trinity

Great chat as expected, the best of the best for villa content! Realistically I've been priced out of the game for years, not really helped by living away from the midlands but it is what it is. When drawn against Juve at home, i was delighted. The 95/96 champions league final was my introduction to the champions league and ive loved Juventus since with del piero and Peruzzi being amongst my favourite players. But with the ticket cost as well as no booking history, I've given up hope of getting a ticket. Realistically I'd be taking financial risks to pay for a ticket and i can't justify that, no matter the romance.
Upper Trinity concourse and toilets have been awful for a while. Urinals have always been over flowing. Gave up buying food 2 seasons ago due to the cost and wait.

@PatrickJScahill I don't disagree that there will be Celtic fans after tickets. Not sure how many will meet criteria. From a Villa fan point of view, if we've already qualified, fans may just save their money for whatever the exorbitant cost will be for the next game.
Do you go to Fa cup games or planning? There not going to be much less so eat or drink less for a week and that 20 quid saved will help, that’s what I’ve had to do as I’m not rich.
A new stadium surely fixes most of these issues. If we create a state of the art stadium and it becomes the goto for all artists and performers in the birmingham area. Similar to tottenhams. Feel villa park structure is holding us back. Cant let birmingham city build a stadium that becomes the best one in the area.
Yeah, on talk sport it mentioned that some clubs were charging up to €350 for the really big matches while discussing this. You have to think that Heck could probably have charged anything he wanted for Munich/Juve and still sold out. Bolongia could have been a bit cheaper and Celtic depending on importance a little bit more expensive/cheaper etc based on demand. In all likelihood that is the way its heading.

I have been going to Villa Park for 54 years. I am very lucky to have seen Villa win the league and European Cup etc. I am thankful to have a season ticket at this time (paying £43 a game). I feel the latest UCL prices are not surprising. My wife and son are club members being asked to pay £72 (£63 last season)for a prem cat A game, hence why they are now going to a limited amount of games. This UCL pricing is big news because it’s now affecting the majority. NOBODY has been shouting this till now. I think UCL pricing is too high and I feel sad to see the direction football is going. Unai Emery has produced football on the pitch I have only seen a few times over my time. Somehow enjoy it best we can for now. UTV
I might be wrong, but I saw the Juventus game in 1983 from the Holte End. I think it cost 40p. Would love someone to correct me if my memory is wrong. In context I was a university student and the annual living grant was £2000.

Facts^ I get that this is a lot of money, but cmon the sport is evolving. In America, for a high quality game with stakes, this is chump change. I’m stateside and I certainly would be snapping hands for an opportunity to go for 250. This will be an unpopular view. Referencing clubs like Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, and the respective champions league ticket prices is not comparing apples to apples. All three of those clubs, and Chelsea, have income that dwarfs Villa. They are able to offer discounted ticket prices. My hope is when Villa truly does become an international brand and has a river of income compared to the trickle it is now, the ticket prices will be reduced. Now, the food and urinal issues at Villa Park should be resolved. Those problems need to be taken care of yesterday. Yet, with the ticket prices, it seems a little disingenuous to compare Villa's income with clubs like Man U. People now expect to drive a Ferrari but continue to make payments on a Fiat.
See talking about CL prices but for us who take the kids just think how much it’s costs for 1 game ? Paid £55 for 3 of us in Europe last season. £190 for a CL game.

I agree with 90% of what you guys say on a regular basis but couple things I don’t. The UCL tickets are very high and I’ve seen a protest allegedly going to happen vs Everton which is just ridiculous. I have been on the waiting list for 5 seasons and crawling up the list every year. I had a season ticket for 10 years before moving away and when I moved back to Birmingham I joined the list. Some of the waiting list may not buy a season ticket but at least 10k of that 30k will. I considered buying a terrace view season ticket but I couldn’t justify double the price for what you get. You’re underestimating how many people would buy your season ticket off you if you didn’t renew - the club knows that. On to the UCL, I’ll happily pay £95 for a ticket to see Villa in the UCL, it’s one of the only ways I get to see Villa play and we may never play in the UCL again. Even buying tickets with the membership is difficult cause so many people have that. Season ticket holders are lucky enough to get a discount, what do members get? After trying to buy a ticket every week and being in a queue the app crashing every week…
You know I actually don't mind a club charging high prices if the premise is 'it takes money to make everything nice for everyone' but charging this amount of money with the pitiful state of the stadium is nonsense. How about invest some of this money so fans don't have to risk getting human waste on themselves to take a piss at the game

Had a season ticket from 02 - 07. £100 my ticket was as an under 16 for first few seasons in K3 in the Holte. Friends still have theirs and I go if one can't. Been to dozens of games on that principle. Other than tarting up the glass and the mosaic, oh and the now closed off part which makes up Terrace, absolutely nothing has changed in 22 years. That's bad. It's all the same. It was because my ticket was £100 that I went and became a fan ( family are all Wolves) and I still am a fan. Bet it isn't equivalent to £100 now. Fact is I won't go this year. Even if offered a ticket by mates who can't go. Other than 90 mins of game the experience is horrid. Traffic, parking, inside ground, outside ground. Well over £100 when all said and done. I'd rather sit with my kids in the house get some good food in, some beer etc, watch games on TV, and be £50 + better off. Club need to have a rethink about the match day experience

I believe there’s a lot of momentum behind a boycott of the food and drink stands in the ground. The ticket prices are not the players or managers decision. Go to the game, support them. No problem. Just do not buy food & drinks. Hopefully that will be a decent dent to give them cause to re-think.

Imo we are at this stage where neither parties are wrong and both want betterment of the club.See from point of a villa fan(18+)who is not a sth but goes to majority or half of the games with club membership now will have to pay £95 which priceout some of that fans and see from the point of club where we lost out on geetrudia who had €25 million transfer and you amortize it over 5 years its just 5 million so we didn't have much breathing space in which we would have got him and still have some money left for winter window due to psr and sqr. Sadly our owners can't inject money like chelsea's under Roman and we can't manipulate our books *cough*city*cough. And we dont have magic stick where we can upgrade stadium(50k+) in 1 week without comprising matchday revenue from pl and cl games And under psr only the revenue which our club generated counts and not ownership injection and we are trying to match big 6 revenue. Heck and his team got us addidas,new short term kit sponsor which is helping in drive up revenue but the road is too long and if we don't want to compromise on our originality(staying at vp) then it makes our road even harder.
Don't like the price but if you wanted to see a queen with Freddie Mercury and it's the only chance you would get to see them surely as a one off you would pay that we may never see bayern at villa Park here again or a champions league game at villa Park. They need to raise the revenue as quickly as possible to get to that 400 million
But many will waste money on takeaways all week and then buying beer and stuff inside the ground but begrudge 20quid more for a ticket in the champions league that we’ve been out of 41 years? Facts^ I get that this is a lot of money, but cmon the sport is evolving. In America, for a high quality game with stakes, this is chump change. I’m stateside and I certainly would be snapping hands for an opportunity to go for 250. I paid 250 last year to watch man united play wrexham in San Diego, and I didn’t even see a single starting prem player, just the u21s!
The point is, we shouldn't have to pay it.

Great to listen and spot on about UCL ticket pricing. The news that Executive members get full away booking points was the first I have heard this. Is this rumour or official?
I remember winning away at Reading in the Championship, our first away win in over 400 days…..this policy makes a mockery of loyalty over the years.
Everything in this world is expensive it’s sad that fans are being priced out , but this has happened over the years. There will always be disenchanted fans but that’s life.

Do a protest walk if they want to do something but leave it at that. This will be an unpopular view. Referencing clubs like Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, and the respective champions league ticket prices is not comparing apples to apples. All three of those clubs, and Chelsea, have income that dwarfs Villa. They are able to offer discounted ticket prices. My hope is when Villa truly does become an international brand and has a river of income compared to the trickle it is now, the ticket prices will be reduced. Now, the food and urinal issues at Villa Park should be resolved. Those problems need to be taken care of yesterday. Yet, with the ticket prices, it seems a little disingenuous to compare Villa's income with clubs like Man U. People now expect to drive a Ferrari but continue to make payments on a Fiat.
See talking about CL prices but for us who take the kids just think how much it’s costs for 1 game ? Paid £55 for 3 of us in Europe last season. £190 for a CL game.

I most point out that although my ticket is £79 my 17 yr old sons is £20. So the 2 of us is under £100 which i do not feel is that bad. My brother sits on the other side of the isle and gets no consessions so if he took his daughter would have to pay £158. Thats 6 seat to my right......
I agree with 90% of what you guys say on a regular basis but couple things I don’t. The UCL tickets are very high and I’ve seen a protest allegedly going to happen vs Everton which is just ridiculous. I have been on the waiting list for 5 seasons and crawling up the list every year. I had a season ticket for 10 years before moving away and when I moved back to Birmingham I joined the list. Some of the waiting list may not buy a season ticket but at least 10k of that 30k will. I considered buying a terrace view season ticket but I couldn’t justify double the price for what you get. You’re underestimating how many people would buy your season ticket off you if you didn’t renew - the club knows that.
On to the UCL, I’ll happily pay £95 for a ticket to see Villa in the UCL, it’s one of the only ways I get to see Villa play and we may never play in the UCL again. Even buying tickets with the membership is difficult cause so many people have that. Season ticket holders are lucky enough to get a discount, what do members get? After trying to buy a ticket every week and being in a queue the app crashing every week…

Criticism of Watkins is ridiculous …he’ll get 20 plus goals ..Also been a couple of great keeper saves..He’s a credit to the club..Like having an extra player ..Digne has been excellent ..Cash also, plays anywhere down that side and has a goal .. Had a season ticket from 02 - 07. £100 my ticket was as an under 16 for first few seasons in K3 in the Holte. Friends still have theirs and I go if one can't. Been to dozens of games on that principle. Other than tarting up the glass and the mosaic, oh and the now closed off part which makes up Terrace, absolutely nothing has changed in 22 years. That's bad. It's all the same. It was because my ticket was £100 that I went and became a fan ( family are all Wolves) and I still am a fan. Bet it isn't equivalent to £100 now.
Fact is I won't go this year. Even if offered a ticket by mates who can't go. Other than 90 mins of game the experience is horrid. Traffic, parking, inside ground, outside ground. Well over £100 when all said and done. I'd rather sit with my kids in the house get some good food in, some beer etc, watch games on TV, and be £50 + better off.
Club need to have a rethink about the match day experience

I believe there’s a lot of momentum behind a boycott of the food and drink stands in the ground. The ticket prices are not the players or managers decision. Go to the game, support them. No problem. Just do not buy food & drinks. Hopefully that will be a decent dent to give them cause to re-think.

Imo we are at this stage where neither parties are wrong and both want betterment of the club.See from point of a villa fan(18+)who is not a sth but goes to majority or half of the games with club membership now will have to pay £95 which priceout some of that fans and see from the point of club where we lost out on geetrudia who had €25 million transfer and you amortize it over 5 years its just 5 million so we didn't have much breathing space in which we would have got him and still have some money left for winter window due to psr and sqr.
Sadly our owners can't inject money like chelsea's under Roman and we can't manipulate our books *cough*city*cough. And we dont have magic stick where we can upgrade stadium(50k+) in 1 week without comprising matchday revenue from pl and cl games
And under psr only the revenue which our club generated counts and not ownership injection and we are trying to match big 6 revenue. Heck and his team got us addidas,new short term kit sponsor which is helping in drive up revenue but the road is too long and if we don't want to compromise on our originality(staying at vp) then it makes our road even harder.

Don't like the price but if you wanted to see a queen with Freddie Mercury and it's the only chance you would get to see them surely as a one off you would pay that we may never see bayern at villa Park here again or a champions league game at villa Park. But many will waste money on takeaways all week and then buying beer and stuff inside the ground but begrudge 20quid more for a ticket in the champions league that we’ve been out of 41 years? I’m 57 and had to retire through illness a few years ago and struggle on a pittance but will cut back on a few things to go to the games 100% and still got a ST as well, looking at how many pubs and restaurants are full people are spending stacks of spare going out weekly 🤷♂️
