Watched your build with great interest. I recently completed the exact same kit. I dispensed with the rubber band tracks and added indiv track links. I replaced the kit 20mm guns with metal ones and added zimmerit to the chassis. I recall the only major headache with the build was in fitting the gun crew into the fighting compartment, but got there in the end. Thank you for taking the time to post this video.
Thanks for watching. I think metal barrels and individual track links will improve this kit significantly. It was not easy for me as well, to put the crew inside but I just managed. The gunner was the tricky one :)
Thank you so much for this video series! I've had this kit since I was a kid in the 90s, but never ended up making it besides painting some parts. Time to change that. :)

Sadly I quit the hobby quite early in frustration, after two of my first properly built and painted (for a 6th grader) Tamiya kits were stolen from the modeling club, and then a third one got accidentally destroyed by a friend. So mad. It's been fun getting back into it though and I'm sure I will enjoy following your instructions in trying to make this kit justice.
Nice model, this AA pz. was inspired by an italian prototype, it was based on the M15 with four 15mm guns, the germans improved it with the flak 38 and the PZ IV chassis
I too am building this after decades 🤨. Notice also a few unused parts so are these just spares or is there something around showing how these spares go together or where??

What is the use for parts F 13 and 14, I am currently in the process of building right now and I have assembled everything else but I would like to know what those pieces are for because if I think they might add a cool feature I might use them before I paint the model. If anyone knows please reply.
I do not remember exactly the part numbers but I think you are referring to the two large protection plates. Those are for a different version of panzer IV anti-aircraft vehicle called Möbelwagen. They are not used on the Wirbelwind. I hope that helps :)

No there are some spares. This kit share some sprues with another panzer IV anti-aircraft variant called Möbelwagen.
