I’ve been riding burton snowboards since 2002/2003 when I got into snowboarding and this board is probably my favourite yet where i don’t hang around the park much anymore.
HTH is more of an all-mountain/freeride style board. Made more for a rider who wants to ride the entire mountain but probably spend little to no time riding park. The Custom is more of a traditional all mountain board for a rider who wants to ride everything from par to pow and everywhere in-between. As for the Flying-V vs the Camber its just personal preference. If you like a floatier, looser, catch-free feel go with the Flying V. IF you like a little more aggressive, always on edge style of ride then the traditional camber is the way to go. One is really not better than the other, just personal preference.
Thanks for the info. I'm curious, how do beginners fare on a custom flying v? I really like this board and thinking of getting one, but I'm not at the level of an intermediate yet.
Sometimes is can be a little tricky for beginners because the FV profile has to be ridden with either a front foot or back boot domination. The Custom FV has a lot of carbon and can be challenging for beginners to flex out. You could check out the Instigator - it's a great all mountain board with a Flat Top profile and it's a much lower price under the Custom FV.
I’m 6’2” bout 220 lbs and wear a 13 boot.. looking at getting this board a 162 wide. You think this length/width on a wide that I would have any trouble at my size and boots on a 162 wide? Thanks!
You should be good to go, wide boards are specifically built for feet 12+. As for the length you could even bump it up to the 166w for a little more stability and float when you are not riding in the park. BURTON CUSTOM FV -> www.the-house.com/bucfvm154273zz-burton-snowboards
I have Custom Flying V 2017 and binding Custom but I'm thinking about buying Malavita. So I think that Malavita binding has better contact and more accurate with foot and snowboard.
Hey there quik quistion and i hope you can answer it fast because i'm about this board. Should i buy union force bindings or bent metal bindings? Already tnx for your respons.
I'm between buying this board for a hybrid and a skeleton key if I stay camber. I've never ridden a hybrid. Probably need to try one before making my purchase. Advice?
@@thehouse sick, my buddy bought the board brand new the year it came out and used it on one run and decided snowboarding wasn't for him haha. He's letting me borrow it for my first trip out west with the boys, hitting up Keystone, Breck, and Copper. STOKED!!!
These are the main differences in construstion: Custom Flying V - Super Fly II Core w/ Dualzone EDG and 45° Carbon Highlights. Custom X Flying V - Dragonfly Core w/ Multizone EGD and 45° Carbon Highlights High Voltage. The Burton Cartel EST Bindings would be really great to match up with both boards!
@@thehouse I love that you answer most of the questions but now I'm confuse. Here you said that Cartel EST binding would be the best match for Flying V but later, in another answer, you said that Malavita is better for Custom Flying V. So which one it is, Cartel or Malativa, and EST or not EST?
Fromt he current line up the Custom Camber would be the most similar to the Antler. Otherwise if you wanted to step into a more directional board the Skeleton Key would be really great.
I was rocking" Endeavor "new standard snowboard couple years ago, it had the channel... absolutely loved it and it had 3D camber all 4 contact points are raised slightly it was catch free but it still had lots of pop because of the camber that's a brand worth checking out... and they're Canadian company too woot woot. it'd be nice if more companies went with a 3D camber. the flying v is definitely a good board but the only way to make it catch free is make it rocker out on at the tip and tail but with the 3D camber you can still keep camber through out the entire board and just have the 4 edges raised a little bit just at the contact points so you can still ride it like it's a rocker but there's no rocker or to it whatsoever. have you guys ever checked out their website there a company from British Columbia?. it's an amazing board because it's forgiving but very aggressive. th-cam.com/video/4g6Kk4Nu4_Q/w-d-xo.html
Yo! Thanks for the suggestion! We've been on a few Endeavor boards, and you're right boards camber profiles with raised contact are so much fun to ride. There might be a big trend in snowboards that'll use that same tech. Bataleon and Arbor are doing 3D tech like that too! We'll try to get on some Endeavor boards asap!
I just purchased the flyingV from ‘your house’! Though im still a starter i think it will be a fun and forgiving board. Can’t wait for it to arrive!

Nice!
I have a Custom Flying V from 2011. This board is great for all around terrian and park. I'm debating if I'm going to pick up a new one soon!
Right on!
Great video. Custom flying v vs hometown hero vs custom camber. Go

Always enjoy the vids, keep it up! Quick question - any downsides to riding a 154wide with size 9 boots? Thanks
That should be fine!
What kind of binding would be best with this board out of Cartel and Malavita?

Solid question. As much as I love the Cartels, the Malavita's would probably be a better binding on the Custom FV.
Would this board be good for more hardpack snow such as in the Midwest ? Or would you suggest the burton flight attendant for hardpack snow

Get the Skeleton Key, it feels predictable.
you think I can ride this board with size 11 2019 vans aura pro boots? NOT on the wide?
100%, the 156 FV version of this is one of my favorite boards and i ride the normal width with a size 11. No problems.
