    Redlining a bike that has 23 miles on it? Way to go!

      Hey, thanks for your concern. I'd like to guide you to this article ---> www.motorcyclistonline.com/busting-engine-break-in-myth/
      You can also watch the video here ---> th-cam.com/video/xpoglovyy_8/w-d-xo.html
      Ari Henning from Motorcycle Magazine shows how they ran 2 identical bikes with different break in procedures, and how a lot of motorcycles don't need to be babied as much as the motorcycles of old. Break in procedure for many motorcycles of old was important because lubricants, materials, and cooling technologies were not as good as they are today.
      FortNine also did a video on this subject 5 years ago. You can find that here ---> th-cam.com/video/u74jYkItdD8/w-d-xo.html
      Ride safe.

      @@Omni_Moto What do Triumph recommend?

  • @andrewbecker3700
    @andrewbecker3700 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The second gen Speed Twins are better bikes. With some simple mods they can get after it pretty good. I've got a Puig Vision windscreen on mine, so the gauges are always clearly readable. IMHO it's the best looking bike in its class. It's not a long haul highway cruiser, and has a fairly limited range. Cruise control isn't something I ever wish I had on it.

    You don't make any mention of Triumph build quality. Triumph fit and finish is second to none.

      I reviewed another triumph (Street Triple 1050 RS) on my channel about a month ago, and I have to say I agree with you 100%. They’re a premium motorcycle manufacturer and they can back that up with their incredible build quality.

      Look at the demo bikes at my local dealer and you’ll see that their build quality isn’t great at all. I say that despite loving my ST12

    Brilliant funny chap! Wow, I don’t believe you’re seriously impressed with the CFMOTO CL-X Sport comparing it to the Trumpy! 70HP to 97HP but it all boils down to that unbelievable price. 12K in the US? That’s a lot . How much is the Sport out the door? Great stuff always Ian!👌

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The CL-X OTD is less than $9K! It gets cruise control as well, rides modes, and still features brembo brakes. The Speed Twin 1200 weighs more as well by about 40 pounds (432LBS compared to 476LBS). The two machines would be super interesting to compare while out in the real world. Thanks, Steve!

      @@Omni_Moto Think about resale value. The CFMOTO will be worth nothing in a few years time,Truimph will hold it's value much much more.

    F3=Form, fit, function. I have one and like it, but am really disappointed to find that you have to remove the sprocket cover to add coolant! The T120 has a neck sticking out of the left side of the engine that's perfectly accessible without removing anything. What were they thinking?

  • @MrWestcliffe
    @MrWestcliffe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the review. I was thinking of getting one of these. But now I have doubts, I might go for a 12 year old HD Dyna Super Glide Custom instead. They are in the same price category around 8k second hand here in the UK. What you guys think?

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey MrWestcliffe, thanks for your comment! Super Glides are fun bikes. We have a couple here at the store and I enjoy puttzin' around on them sometimes. Totally different bikes though compared to the Speed Twin, and I'd say it'd boil down to what type of rider you are. If you're doing around town, leisure, relaxed riding with the occasional long-distance haul and sometimes ramping up to 100 KPH quickly, then sure! The Super Glide is probably the better bike. If you want to do something similar but have a bike that is more tame and can also go out and do some more spirited riding with more lean angle and a more aggressive style, then I'd say the Speed Twin is still a good candidate. Hope this helps!

    • @MrWestcliffe
      @MrWestcliffe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Omni_Moto Thanks for the fast reply. I'm exactly as you described the fist one. I'm a relaxed and leisure rider often with my wife (so 2 up). So it's clearly a HD is the winner. Thet was my initial plan but as I'm in the UK and everyone is mostly riding a Triumph I thought it would be ok, the sound is pretty close to the HD and its smaller and lighter as I have a limited space for storage. However I think I will be able to squeeze in a Super Glide, just. I also noticed there is a hefty weight difference but it only be a problem logging around at my shed.

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrWestcliffe Some of that weight difference will be hard to notice because of the significant differences in seat height. The Super Glide will have a significantly lower center of gravity, but ultimately it is more heavy. Both bikes are a great option, but it sounds like you know in your heart the HD is the way to go. Besides, if everyone is riding a triumph in the UK, your HD will just be that much more apart from the rest of the crowd and be more unique than the average speed twin. If you have the opportunity, go test ride both and find out first-hand which one is going to make more sense for you. Ride safe! 😎

      @@Omni_Moto you are exactly right. I'll stand out like I did with my previous car (2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee) between the lots of Land Rovers. I had a day on HD Dyna Street Bob and I loved it. Since then I was looking for a HD but I just couldn't justify the Sportster especially the latest one is not my cup of tea. So I'll will go and check out one 2010 Super Glide Custom at the weekend and I'll take it from there. Thanks a lot for your advice, much appreciated.

    I’ve been looking for my first bike I’ve road fourwheelers,dirt bikes,three wheelers and grew up around a lot of it . I’m confident that I can handle a cf moto 700 clx but am just wondering how it does all around and am asking if it’s a good idea to try one out.

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trying one out is the best idea! That way you know if you fit and if it performs to your expectations, or exceeds them. With its ride modes, it’s a very versatile bike. Highly, highly, HIGHLY, recommend that bike. If you know what to expect, you will NOT be disappointed! Check out my review on it for more info if you haven’t already. 😄 Thanks for the comment!

    You need to ride the speed twin in England on some proper roads you might change your mind your roads are built for cruisers

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Richard, that's some great input and observation. You're right! Our roads are actually designed for 4-wheel automobiles, versus overseas where roads are built for the main mode of transport, which is most often 2-wheels. I think the Triumph is proper fun, don't get me wrong, but for an American buyer looking for one, I don't think it's the best choice. If they lived in a more urbanized area, it may do okay, but I have a feeling the bike really can perform out on a twisty road where you can manipulate it underneath of you the best.
      Thanks for the comment! Ride safe.

    The Speed Twin has traction control. Turn that off and it'll probably lift the tire better.

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! I've actually gone through the rest of my videos and removed any confusion about ABS. Admittedly, I was even a little confused about how the systems may work with wheelies, but mostly because I was misinformed myself. Thanks for reaching out about that though! Have a great week, and ride safe.

    • @Captain_Yodelstein
      @Captain_Yodelstein 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Omni_Moto, I only have 700 miles on my bike currently, but its amazing what you can learn by reading the owners manual...doesn't say how to do wheelies per se, but did mention the traction control system and how to turn it off. I'm guessing when the front wheel lifts (while the system is active) the computer sees different speeds at each tire and cuts throttle...just my guess. I have a few hundred more miles to put on the bike before I can really start enjoying it. Trying to break it in right....but boy is it hard 😄

      Thanks for the kind words, Charles. I try to be upfront and honest. If I can't be credible and honest, then what do I have, ya know?
      The Triumph certainly is no Africa Twin though, you're right about that. The AT is such an incredible machine and if I did more ADV, I think that's my prime candidate.
