Wow, I visitet Luang Prabang 3 weeks ago, such a lovely place. I have been to some of the places you show on the video. I hope every one is safe and that the damage is not very bed. Wonderful people, I wish you all the best.
Thank you. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. So far the situation in Luang Prabang is still under control. Let's hope that it won't get worse 🙂
This is shocking. I pray that the water recedes quickly. It is good that everyone seems to be so calm. I do worry about poisonous creatures and snakes moving into homes and residences. Stay safe, Nat.
In Luang Prabang there is a non-profit organization called "Red Cross" where they collect donations and ship it to the affected people. Not sure if they have any link.
Praying for Laos. Thank you for sharing in English so that I can share this on my social media's to my non-Lao Speaking/Understanding friends and followers. 🙏 🇱🇦 😔
So sad. Stay safe! Thanks for sharing ❤. My husband and I will be in Luang Prabang on 6th of October of this year!! Hopefully the water will go down?? I'm praying! Please keep us updated. Thank you!
It's devastating to see so many homes and businesses under water. I hope and pray for the water levels to decrease soon. 🙏 It's comforting to see so many people helping each other move and salvage their belongings, but i hope there will be more resources for them to clean up and rebuild their properties. Be careful and stay safe. Thank you for sharing this update. ❤
Thank you for sending us your prayers. So far Luang Prabang isn't too bad compared to other places in Laos like in Luang Namtha. Looks like everyone retreated their belongings on time. Also nice to see military personnels helping out. Hopefully the level of water will lower down soon😊
It's sad to see many households affected by the flood. As a Chinese guy, I feel so sorry for flood affected areas. I don't know why they released water from the dam. If the situation happen regularly, a solution need to be put forward. Nat. you are very kind and knowing very well about hardship of low class people
Hi there, I am from Laos but I’m living in the United States. I left the country when I was younger, it’s been over 40 years and I am planning to come visit my family in December this year. When will the flooding go down? I’m hoping for good weather during my visit!
That’s what happens they keep building those dams , people life will affected. That too bad ! Prayers for you and people of Laos ! Maybe this wake up call for those who’s make decisions, taking of natures forest then things would be better .
Serious flooding; we have heard the very bad flooding in Vietnam, especially Hanoi and Haiphong; the Red River crested and many lives lost; I can't imagine Laos is in better position; the Melkong River wil likely crest over its banks in many areas where there is no history of such high water .... I pray all goes well in the end.....
Only in Luang Prabang is the worst affected by the typhoon where the whole town is submerged under water. Luang Prabang is still under control. Sending prayers to Vietnamese folks.
yooo..I made it here now,,,I need to rent a moto bike and I saw the rising water,,thanks for the warning!!,,,Do you know where I can rent a moto bike near the Thai Embassy bro?
Hi mate, welcome to Laos. I'm glad you made it😊. I think you're a bit far from the tourist area. There are several rental shops near the Hillton Hotel. Stay safe and let me know if you need anything🙂
Whoever is blaming China is crazy and do not understand how nature and dams work. If not for the dams, Laos would have experienced uncontrolled flooding all at once. Think about it. Use some common sense. They needed to release the water to alleviate pressure and avoid flooding upstream but at a controlled fashion. Either way Laos was gonna get inundated but in a controlled way. Imagine flash flooding where more lives would be lost on top of no time to evacute. In fact, another storm is brewing just around the corner! Which is why China informed the Laos government that they must release water so the previous storm water can reach the ocean! If not it would be 2 times worst!
when it comes building dams... weather is never on your side going forward because you collect water to the rim than this happened, now time is not on your side; release-release-release the water, now down stream people are stuck and struck and the government dont suffer, but the poor does. its all about water management, a lesson learned hopefully next year it may be the same or worse because if yagi is the strongest... future wise it will get worse. it's too late to plan trees. to help solve the problem is stop cutting trees and build less dams. i would hate to see phou bia goldmine sub-aqueous tailings disposal lake break it's bank and have a go...
That's awful! I wonder if the people are getting any recompense from China for losing their homes and livelihoods? Not to speak about the extent of the environmental damage. All the trash, plastic and chemicals washed in the river... Are those dams really worth it when this destruction is the result? I hope no lives were lost.
Lao people Just waiting for the water from China damn releasing water From their own Dam to Laos country Iam so sorry for Lao people They can not Do anything And their own government Don’t want to Helping them and Don’t care about all Lao people

This is sad to see. How long will the dam be letting out?
It should last for 3-4 days. As now the rain has stopped. Let's hope it won't get worse.
So sad laungprabang is my home town 😢😢😢
