I’m watching this in 2024 and remembering all the artists who have passed away. Michael Barrymore an incident happened in 1999 that ruined his career. He was so good. How sad. Seeing this program we can certainly see into their future. Cilla Black died in Spain fell over and laid on her balcony and died through heat stroke. I’m so glad then they couldn’t see into the future. Very sad watching this. Michael now lives in Spain a broken man. RIP all the performers that have now gone you entertained us all and we will never forget you.😢
Many thanks for this lovely video.THAT'S what "ENTERTAINMENT used to be. Good comedians, lovely dancers, fine singers, ....It makes todays entertainers , with Smutty comedians, Loud and Incomprehensible singers, and Pyrotechnic Bands, a pleasure to TURN OFF !Thanks
Have seen Brian Conley do his show a couple of times.....he was absolutely brilliant - had the audience laughing from the moment he came on stage......at end of the show he did his singing - awesome singer and performer.
Great to see some of my old work! I was the script associate on the show and wrote Cillas script (plus her sketch with Mel Gibson) and Gloria's intro withe Misd Piggy and Kermit...plus loads.more. Wonderfu memories of a great show.
i think this was the last great royal variety show we had - awesome in places, of course shirley at the end popping up from the stage at the end was great too!
I wonder if Lulu and Maurice Gibb had a catch up chat behind the scenes, they used to be married, showing my age now haha, really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing 😍😊
RUTH MADOC Born Margaret Ruth Llewellyn Baker 16 April 1943 Norwich, Norfolk, England Died 9 December 2022 (aged 79) Torquay, Devon, England In 1993 she played Mrs Bardell with Harry Secombe in Pickwick at the Chichester Festival Theatre
Unfortunately, Miss Black never had the power of Shirley Bassey. Great to see so many of our, dearly missed, performer. Thankfully as so many people feel, we DO have Dame Shirley to close the show now.
Barrymore was phenomenal! I still love him!
