In the North the whole greeting is streamlined into one word. Someone says "alright" meaning "are you alright?" The other person replies "alright" meaning "yes I am alright, are you alright?"
It's the same in the south.
same everywhere even americans pick it up after a while.

Here in Australia its always the same old script "howz it goin?" "yeah not bad mate? Yourself?" or "not bad" I love the fact no matter where you go in this big brown land of ours strangers and friends all break the ice the same way- its comforting.
I admire how no matter where in the world you are interviewing no one can shake you from your views, but you shake the hell out of them. I don't watch main stream media because it's a ball of rehearsed false facts. Thank you for awakening people through your comedy, most people are so brainwashed they don't think the media would be so evil to lie to them.
How about another phase which serves the same purpose and is already used by the majority of the british population? "YOU AWRIGHT MATE?!"

Stupid bit of language anyway, doesn't make any logical sense, semantically null and seems like an incomplete sentence. Sample sentences may include:
How do you do... long-division?
How do you do... a handstand?
How do you do... cunnilingus?
Therefore I propose that the modern correct answer to the question "how do you do...?" becomes "Just Google it"
I thoroughly enjoyed that selection of example sentences.

Your example sentences are all specific tasks, whereas "how do you do" refers to all doing. Basically, if you exist, you are doing, and if you're in a bad way you're doing badly.

I lived in the UK for 20 years (had to move out, boss went bankrupt, sigh! Men!), but I never heard one single person ever say "how do you do". The normal, and socially accepted greeting is: "Alright?" Answer : "Yeah, fine. And yourself?"
Nobody seems to have a problem with it ... I guess that printed piece of garbage had nothing of worth to report. They might want to try Trews ...

Thanks for making me laugh today! The problem with how do you do is that most people don't really care how do you do. So the phrase is inauthentic. But Hey is always authentic since it is simply a method of drawing attention to a moment where people are greeting each other. Especially when the word is drawn out with a big smile to: Haaaaay. Which the yanks from up north make fun of.

I think a lot of this comes back to the concept of property. It's okay to have a house or car as property. But a person isn't property. Or if they are they shouldn't be. That's my view on it, but I'm sure other people think differently.
There might not be any fact of the matter about this kind of question - any 'objective' right or wrong about it. It might just come down to different people having different instincts and feelings and that's it.
My best mate and I now only ever say, "How do you treeeews?"

I thought you'd comment further on the blonde issue, as it's quite intriguing. It's of course a stupid stereotype, and clearly nothing to do with DNA as we already knew. However, it does bring a society issue that blonde's are pressured to become the 'barbie' figure, which leads them down the path to being stereotyped in such a way.

The chaps and I (and the dumb blonde girlfriend of Steve) have found our pre pub entertainment (The Trews) considerably enhanced by your 'jazzy' new intro music and grafics. Much as we appreciated your own efforts, we find this 'main stream media' approach much more satisfying. Its like settling down to watch CNN, BBC, SKY, ad nauseam, knowing that for once we won't be hearing an attempt at promoting another false flag event. Tom isn't sure about the orangy/pinky colour scheme, but then he's gay, and should know better. We've had a vote (Opps! Sorry...) and have decided to close with our best regards, with a 'keep up the good work'; and a large snog (tounges included). We find we are getting little red squiggles under certain words and should refer to spell check, but, given our nature, we don't give a fuck. We love you Russell. And that's the Trews.

Please watch 'New World System' by the Venus project on TH-cam and it only takes about 45mins. It's very feasible, green, fair and equal system that deserves to be acknowledge by all.

ok as being taught english for a second language to us, i always had a hard time what to say after being asked "how do you do". why on earth a stranger asks me a question so vague, what is the proper reply to that anyway? how do you do again?
Yes, the "correct" response to "How do you do?" is "How do you do". Answering, "I'm fine, thanks", etc. is wrong.
This Kate Fox is not completely furnished with the truth. How do you do is a formal greeting same as "It is a pleasure to meet you". The Spanish still use Usted which is a formal third person pronoun for "you". English did away with this archaic vernacular centuries ago making English a far more egalitarian language that some. Another example of how the media is ignorant and badly informs people of the facts. I haven't picked up a UK newspaper for over 10 years. I would not wrap mu fish and chips in it.
