I bought the Step Over 4s when they were re-released in 2021. With the current fashion wave being more loose fitting / y2k, they def go well with modern fits while holding the status of a memorable time and player. Best part was copping them under retail.
Late '90s mid '00s is what I like to call the "Moonboot" era of Basketball shoes. An era where basketball shoes became more specialized for the court and less appropriate for casual wear (not that it stops people from wearing Foamposits, a very interesting shoe, imho), they got crazier and crazier looking as tech improved and was added to the shoes.
T Mac 2s we’re my favorite. I had the red and white ones and the all star red white and blue ones. I actually got a pair a few months back at Ross for like $40
When I was playing in college our team shoes were the Nike huarache 2K5’s and the air jordan 19’s my freshman year in 2005-06. The 2K4’s and 2K5’s legitimately lasted for 12-15 months. Miss those days and the sneakers from that era. Keep up the great work Nacho! 👟
Man, I owned the bb4s, vc2 and especially the tmac 1s! the tmacs brought back a lot of memories, took my 1 yr savings to purchase them for my summer league and injured my left ankle back in 2002 during my sophomore year in high school, so nostalgic. great content, keep them coming.
For me, the best two shoes of that era was the 04 and 05 Reebok Iverson 9 & 10 auto pumps. Both are outrageously comfortable and have some wicked tech in them.
I love love love The IVERSON Reebok answer 5. It was my favorite. From high school to college, they were my go-to basketball sneakers. Love the Kobe Adidas sneaker, the T-MAC Adidas, the Nike Shox. But the Reebok Answer 5 was my passion

I was on a film set a couple years ago. It was a dirty, filthy war show on a farm so nobody was wearing their main kicks. This one guy, purely at random, was rocking a fresh looking vintage pair of DaDa Supremes. He wasn’t some OG swagster or anything. Said he didn’t even remember when, where or why he got them and had zero idea why it would be significant at all. Literally one of the most random things I’ve ever seen in my entire life and I own tons of sneakers over 20 years old.
3:40 I had these in 7th grade!! The blue on black TMACs. I also had a pair of the VC1's like those red ones but mine were the greyish/silver not the red material. And its true those Nike shox at 6:00 WERE THE STATUS SYMBOL. You had those you were varsity ballin'!

During the 2000's, I had Nike Flightposite III Nike Lebron II Zoom Flight Turbine Nike Huarache 2K5 Nike Air Force 25 (A Truly Underrated Shoe) It was a great decade for Basketball shoes. You can just waltz through any basketball shoe store and get a pair of signatures and the prices were reasonable. The commercials were an event and I felt like I was the coolest kid in High School whenever I get a new pair of Nike's. haha

I played a lot of ball in the ‘00s, some of my favorite pairs were Reebok answer 11, Nike zoom Kobe II, Adidas T-Mac TS light speed and Nike LeBron 4s.
The Dada Spreewells are the most underrated basketball sneakers of all time in terms of pure performance on the court. In order to make the spinning rim actually spin when you stepped, they used an air pump located in the heel that acted as an amazing cushion with each step 1000 times more effectively than Nike Shox did.
Fave era of basketball shoes. Bb4, hyper flight, ultra flight, flight posite, adidas kobes and nikes, tmacs, iversons. I loved them because i was a student back then and basketball is my life. Even loved it more because i couldnt afford those as i was a student back then
One of my best friends said the Adidas Kobe 1s were the most comfortable performance shoes he's owned. In my time when I played youth ball in Germany, I saw a lot of folks play in those you mentioned (the Huarache not so much), as well as Adidas Pro Models, T-Mac 2s, Dada C-Dubbz Woodgrains, and every so often the Nike Hyperflight/Ultraflight and Flightposite 1s and 3s. Myself I played in Fila Stackhouse Spaghettis, And1 Mad Game and Uprise.
I love a lot of shoes from that particular era. Early LeBrons, middle era Iversons, MJ's Wizards shoes. And1 had a bunch of fantastic shoes too. Wish they got retroed more often, but so many sneakerheads are fixated on only Nikes from the 90's.

I turned 20 y/o in 2000 and saw a lot of those shoes in my rec outdoor league, having many of them or a follow up version: had both the kobe and kobetwo, t-mac 2 from adidas, reebok answer V, didn't have the BB4 but I owned the VC 2 and loved them, the huarache 2k5 and years later grabbed the 2k4 retro. the Iverson answer 4 & 5 were dope I had both, black/grey 4s and red/white 5s also had some red/white tai chis and some red/white 2k4s. one thing that was underrated about Reeboks was how comfortable they were. the Nikes and Js from the '00s weren't as comfortable as they used to be in the 80s and 90s or as fresh lol

I had the Answer 4s white and silver, the Answer 5s white and red. Nike shox white and red. I also had the DaDa silver and black (C Webb wore them) they were chrome and super shiny. I had some heat in middle school and early HS
T-Mac's, Answer IV's, Dada Supreme and, Kobe 1. This was the 2000's era. Really regret not getting the metallic pair for $20 at Just for Feet(had a basketball hoop in the store to try the shoes out with). And the AJ17 with the box and CD was a MUST, got 2 pairs for $250 plus tax. And that 2000 slam dunk contest was the best EVER, Francis and Carter put on a heck of show that night.

Originally from Minnesota and I played in some KG And1s when I was in middle school between when he left Nike and signed with adidas. They Weren’t as popular as the Tai Chis but And1 made really good shoes back then that were durable and really good performers.

As a player my favorite shoe was the KG III. Light, thin sole that kept you grounded, good traction. I also liked Nash’s Nike Air Jet Flights.
And 1 Crossover for outdoor hooping was my go to. It was also a mesh version not the leather. I wore those till they fell apart!!!!

I used to own the T-Mac 1, its was one of the most comfortable shoes to wear.
the original hyperdunk and the huarache 2k5 are hands down the best basketball shoes i've played in
T-Mac's, Answer IV's, Dada Supreme and, Kobe 1. This was the 2000's era. Really regret not getting the metallic pair for $20 at Just for Feet(had a basketball hoop in the store to try the shoes out with). And the AJ17 with the box and CD was a MUST, got 2 pairs for $250 plus tax. And that 2000 slam dunk contest was the best EVER, Francis and Carter put on a heck of show that night.
Those Adidas kobe 1 (AKA crazy 1) where a great basketball shoe,the traction was top notch, I still have a pair in my closet to this very day.

Originally from Minnesota and I played in some KG And1s when I was in middle school between when he left Nike and signed with adidas. They Weren’t as popular as the Tai Chis but And1 made really good shoes back then that were durable and really good performers.
