It's weird saying a footballer should be selfish but I agree. Hazard passes up shooting opportunities for his teammates to score. I remember his debut when he was 1 v 1 with the goalie and he just passed to Ivanovic for the tap in.
He needs to be protected though, too many fouls against him go unpunished!

I don't think Salah was ever better, yeah he obviously had a phenomenal season last year but in terms of ability Hazard is miles beyond him. I think he is top 5 in the world. He just has something special about him.

Only thing thats been holding Hazard back from more goals was the way managers played him and the systems implemented simple as that. Only Sarri can allow him to score more, simple as that. Just imagine Hazard under Pep's team or even Klopps team now...? The free flowing game styles and attacking mentality would of easily allowed him to score more goals at least 20 a season. Hopefully he reaches these types of numbers under Sarriball.

Apart from that, a lot of it really came from a drop in quality of end product that generally happens throughout the middle part of the season. I wonder if it's a base of him not having a sufficient level of stamina to keep it going at such a high level all season. Maybe he has to work just a little bit harder during fitness training to reach the top, we'll see with Sarri I'm sure.

Hazard has no need to score 20+ or even 30+ goals. Hazard has a style, unlike Henry, Messi and even Salah, Hazard does not get tap ins, he does not even get simple opportunities, Hazard is so well defended that he has to make his own goals, how often has Hazard dazzled defences, ie Liverpool, Arsenal and Man utd. Mourinho even decided to man mark him, the honest truth is that Hazard will never be like Salah, Hazard is the player who will spend an entire game against Palace trying to find space but not really getting in to finish off a chance, but will also go to the Etihad and dribble past everyone and slot it in, this is why Hazard can wins Chelsea the premier league, he is not a prolific winger, he is an enigmatic roaming attacker, Hazard goes and does as he pleases and that is why he will not score 30 goals but that is also why in those big moments he is the one and only person you can not ignore.

to be fair to the presenter I think he asks a lot of devil’s advocate type stuff to get a response out of the other to so it doesn’t necessarily reflect what he believes. of course you don’t need to be selfish to get great numbers, but given a fixed ability level would a more selfish player version of the same player get more goals is maybe a better question though (and, not I don’t think, that clear cut either). The easy answer would be to say yes of course, but maybe a more selfish player rubs teammates the wrong way and gets less service as a result.
Bellamy and you both misunderstood what people mean when they say you have to be selfish to get a lot of goals. It's not a negative thing, we don't mean actually being a snob and tryna get all the goals. It just means you have to tell yourself "I am the best player on this team, and they need me to produce numbers in order for us to have a great season" or something like that. Once you take-on that responsibility, and you have the talent of players like hazard or neymar, you can instantly become a consistent 40+ goal scorer.
Messi is selfish, don't be fooled by his quiet personality and his assist numbers. He begs for the ball the whole game and he will walk all the way back to the goal line just to get a few touches. He gets assists because he tries 15 through balls per game (he keeps his passing % up by doing hundreds of small passes in his own half).
It's not a bad thing, Messi is the most talented player of all time and it would be a shame if he had the attitude of hazard, because then I promise he would have no ballon d'Ors

One good point these guy made is that unlike ronaldo, messi, salah , augero etc hazard never receive a simple tap in or end product which need only finishing from his team mates. All his goal is of his own making or from a move heavily involving him. Look at raheem sterling’s last season performance. Majority of his goals where just simple tap in. His talent was to be in right place at right time but thenmove was created by the likes of silva n KDB. Hazard needs more support from his team.

Messi tracks back plenty, what are you talking about? Under the valverde system he is involved in the buildup, look at the Liga game last week where he was the furthest back player on the pitch. Cristiano Ronaldo is a pure striker. He does not track back. Neither does Harry Kane, or Mitrovic. But that's not necessarily a bad thing! Those are all great players... and I think Hazard contributes plenty to the team by tracking back as well, and getting involved with assists and key passes. It's all about what we value.

The problem with hazard isn’t that he needs to be greedier, the problem is Chelsea. As a Chelsea fan myself, i see week in week out the number of players that are fighting for scoring goals in Chelsea. Willian, Pedro, Morata, Alonso, i can go on and on. We don’t have a target man like Madrid had with Ronaldo. Priority in Madrid was to move the ball to Ronaldo and have him take the shot 75% of the time. Chelsea never had a target man apart from Drogba and more recently Costa who were affective. Hazards position does not allow him to be a target man or team priority. Chelsea is playing unique football in the sense that the team tends to score equal amount of goals throughout. It’s a nice spread of goals that keeps you constantly guessing who will score next.

the fact that every new upcoming player is compared to hazard is enough to highlight what hazard has achieved over the years, he has maintained his reputation every season. These pundits once compared alexis sanchez to hazard, where is alexis now ? They compared mahrez to hazard, although he is good, but he scores when his team is already in a winning position unlike hazard who scores when needed the most. So please, end this debate now, he is the best player witnessing premier league. I am a chelsea fan although!!

Hazard was always better than de bruyne, and you say that Chelsea's style is helping him what about city, city has way better players than chelsea and I am a chelsea fan, and still hazard plays better
I don't think City have 'way better' midfield/attacking players then Chelsea. Willian, Pedro, Kante & now Jorginho would all compete well at City. Hazard is exceptional, but I slightly prefer the passing playmaker and think De Bruyne is often rated less well because he's not so much of a trickster/goalscorer. But no doubting both players are exceptional!

Eden Hazard is the clever player, and play with a football better more. He know how to play for the success.
Hazard isn’t self driven and ruthless like many players. I feel like hazard just plays and enjoys his football lol he passes in front of the goal. I don’t know hazard doesn’t seem like the hype driven guy. Hazard can be up there with the messi and ronaldo in terms of end product. He has potential but I don’t think he cares enough lol which there’s nothing wrong with. He’s a top lad.

So, these guys aren't bothered by Hazard not tracking, and they don't want him to track to begin with, but Ozil apparently has to track back and help defend!!!!
you have to consider the positions the two occupy. as a more central player, with the ability to pick the right pass with the least amount of time, as a coach i expect you have an input defensively. you have the potential to start a counter and i need to see that. as for a winger, whose game is primarily taking on one or two players i expect you to be close to the centre forward, facing your goal for a quick turn and pounce. perfect example, Hazard's role in the Brazil game. you just cant not have that.
I am a Liverpool fan but to be honest, I don't see how you can class Hazard as one of the best. He is a good player, however I don't think that he's got the consistency. In the past five years or so, he's on had 1 good season in a row. He's dangerous and you can see that but he doesn't do enough with it.
