      unload a few rounds and you got yourself some stitching holes! easy work, probably need to use some rope for the thread but at least you know it ain't going anywhere

    • @Requeium
      @Requeium 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jam the barrel through the holes after you shoot some holes in it and pull thread through with the front sight ... Nah the thread would be so tiny in those massive holes and you'd have a button hole ripped into every stitch... And you thought the leatherman stitches were ugly lol

    I bought a leatherman the first year they made them and still use the same one, things you may or may not know about the leatherman, it was made to be a swiss army knife competition, the stiching awl in the swiss army knife was made to repair sails on ships not really leather so much might be why its hard to do the leather with. but great video

    This was brilliant! Loved the editing too. I do find it amusing that you think making a leather sheath will be a priority for you in the bush!

    Nice, now do it with a swiss army knife lol... If your gonna go the pine sap route you gotta mix some wood ashes in it to make a bonding agent.

  • @erhon5

    Haha this reminds me of when I tried to do leather work and only had a couple needles and a pliers... it worked but I don’t want to do it that way again. Do we start suggesting using a Swiss Army knife next? ;)

    What edge coat color and brand do you use when you're making a wallet out of regular veg tan leather? It looks like a coffee brown color. Where can I pick that up? Let me know. Thanks! Love your channel!

    what leather thickness do you recommend for sheath? and i have another question, how wide should my sheath be if my pocket knife is like 2 cm wide.

    It'd be cool to see the same thing with a Victorinox and hear your opinion on the different tools as someone who is a professional leather craftsman. Victorinox has 2 versions of an awl and the better one in my opinion is on the Pioneer but doesn't have a sewing eye. :-(

    Did you try using one blade of the scissors to punch holes, they seem smaller.

    • @project86xero
      @project86xero 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's pulling the thread through that's the issue. That's what the hole in an awl is for.

    • @larryschmidt3594
      @larryschmidt3594 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@project86xero in scouts we would just fold the thread or string then push it through the small punched hole. Stitch it around doing a stitch on alternating sides then come back doing the opposite side stitch back to start position and tie off. Maybe not the lock stitch he did but it went pretty well. And we also had the kids do it using birch bark wet down formed and sewn. Summer camp stuff.

    Nice! Nice work indeed. Why didn’t you show the part where you kill and skin the animal using just the leatherman? Oh, that was a little much. Very well done. If it has a tool adapter, I wonder if one could make leather working tools for other leatherman tool adapters? No one would use it, I suppose.

    • @whitandpark
      @whitandpark  3 ปีที่แล้ว
