I have always been a r/c car & truck guy until I discoverd your channel! Went out and bought a Champ and I am now hooked and anxious to keep progressing. Keep it up guys thanks.
You guys make some awsome videos, I'm so happy I decided to get my plane back out from sitting up for 10 years now and trying to learn to fly all over again and seeing i can get a camera for it will make it even more fun. Thanks
I bought a Fenix 150 at the NEAT fair and met Dan and Diane. They are really nice people. I got the last Fenix 150 that they had and its an awesome plane.
You can do it with one, if you have pan and tilt, it will just use two channels of your system. I think they have a cable for head tracking that fits into 9x radio
Could you guys do a video showing how you set up the Fenix 150 as a twin engine FPV platform? This would be super helpful, as I would like to set up one myself. Great video as always!
Using er9x firmware I programmed the radio so that I could flick the gear switch and the camera would centre and the head tracking would be disabled. Also enabled two pots to control up/down and left/right which was helpful for fine tuning where the centre was. Also could still use the pots to control the pan/tilt when head tracking was disabled as well.
I am sure that head tracker is a bit more crisp and responsive than even this video would suggest. The latency with the gopro output is noticeable even with a stationary setup, magnified a bit by the head tracker most likely. I would stick with a more conventional camera for head tracking purposes.....still cool as hell!
Awesome setup! BTW, Have you experiment with 3D FPV (two cameras side by side, lenses approximately an eyes width apart)? Can the headset handle separate video signals to each eye display? I think the challenge will be in getting the video on you tube in a format that viewers can watch without special software or hardware. Anaglyph would be the easiest but would require viewers to have the red/cyan glasses.
so it looks as if you need to have to tx's 1 for plane and 1 for head set, is that corect? will you have a build video for the tracker unit on the plane?
Were you guys using "Channel 1" on the Fatsharks? When flying mine I was getting pretty intense interference in the video feed thru the goggles... just not sure how you guys are powering the system and what channel you are using... Thanks!
this still doesnt explain how to setup the equipment :/ i need to know how to set it up from start to finish. like plugging in servos and programming it into the TX
Think this system would work for some higher altitude stuff? Im currently on 900mhz but i get a lot of interference where I live (near a big city). So im tempted...
Hello friends, always follow your videos here in Brazil ! I have some models of glasses: FatShark Dominator, Predator, AIO, but none of them offers precision in movements headtracker. Ex: when we turn the head left or right, and head back to the center, not the camera back to the center (always have to push the reset button of headtracker), and this hinders me in flight. You know tell me if you need some correction magnetic declination to improve the efficiency of headtracker in Brazil?
You only need a single radio with 6+channels (2extra for the headtracking) and support for this feature. Turnigy 9x works as well as most futabas. Spektrum doesnt support it though!
Couldn't you wire that to the plane and not the camera and fly the plane with head movements? I know it would not be easy at first, but I am sure you could learn to control it.
The Fat Shark headset sends a signal (from gyroscopes installed in it - called head tracking module) to the radio via a cable, then the radio controls servos.
I use adblocker, its not because I don't want to support flitetest, its because I dont want to be waiting around, or hitting skip this ad in 15 seconds. I am under the impression they still get the money.
I would live to see a steering system based on the pilot's head turn. All you would need to control by hand would be the throttle. Simply look where you want to go.
@Bilal khaled Why dont you try to search on google such as long range fpv, or long range range rc transmitter..there are a lot of stuffs out there with various of brand and price.
hi flite test. I want to ask about about micro HDMI to AV (FPV) can i connect micro HMDMI to Ts832 using HMDI2AV mini? without using RCD3015G thanks for the time flite test: D .. i love this channel
There are two controls How are camera movements and aircraft movements done Head Tracker connected to 2nd controller Airborne service 1. connected to controller There are two receivers for two controls on the plane How the system works.
This a good taken for beginners, but what about going more detailed explanation how to become a long range flier with this equipment, because after your first week flying this equipment you will become anxious for expand the distance of your fly.

So glad to see more advanced fpv projects on flite test. thanks, guys. my next purchase is some goggles!
This is one if the best contraptions ever! Great job!
Really good stuff guys, I was thinking about getting a head tracker for my dragonlink uhf.
This is just the coolest thing i've seen in a long time..

Great video guy's..Nice set-up...It looks like a cross between Walle and Blue Thunder...
We had an airdome in town for half a decade but it just shut down a couple years ago. It was used for golf just like that one there.
I'm new to fpv and want to get a kit at a low coast do you think you can help?

This is some cool stuff. You recommend a plane to start with? Decent starter set? I'm into rc nitro cars but always wanted to learn to fly.
so it looks as if you need to have to tx's 1 for plane and 1 for head set, is that corect?
will you have a build video for the tracker unit on the plane?
Bad ass flight . Gonna have to build one !
Awesome guys, thanks.
is there any website that show how to build and connect that 2 servos control unit that you have on your plane?
i have the Futab T14SG
can u say my how i have to configure it for Hedtracking only to one Channel 5 up and down
i need some help where i can buy the 'fat shark actitud with head tracking' and how do i set it up in my quadcopter.?
Were you guys using "Channel 1" on the Fatsharks? When flying mine I was getting pretty intense interference in the video feed thru the goggles... just not sure how you guys are powering the system and what channel you are using... Thanks!

Do you need the second radio to do the HeadTracker? Can this be set up to only one radio? If so what type of radio? And how would it
work?
Could you guys do a video showing us how to set up the DJI Phantom for fpv please.
circular polarized, if you want more info on the maker, clip the link in the description and scroll down thru the photos
i need help!!! where can i buy the goggles? and how do i set up the camera and servos motors? thanks
ok thanks alot but does it matter which radio i use? i have a tactic 6 ch radio,
Think this system would work for some higher altitude stuff? Im currently on 900mhz but i get a lot of interference where I live (near a big city). So im tempted...
in the intro, they show a clip of a helicopter flying into a dummie. what episode is that from?
@5:15 "I'm rubbernecking"
That is the funniest shit i've heard in ages. Rock on Josh.
Simon Says knew someone would beat me to it. I thought that was hilarious too. Lol
what is the transmitter in josh's hands? i need a good transmitter that can handle pan/tilt.

Does that work with the Go pro Hero 3 Black edition?
Because it has a different Video output.
Couldn't you wire that to the plane and not the camera and fly the plane with head movements? I know it would not be easy at first, but I am sure you could learn to control it.
Filtetesters, do your guys have ham licenses? Is 900mhz or 5.8ghz fpv system legal in US without ham license? Thanks
How could I pay you for the plane with gopro, controller and goggles
?
Can I do this with a Flysky t6 tx and the Fatshark teleporters? On the back of tx it has the same plug as on goggles.
Hi guys great vids, I'm trying to get my fat shark head tracking to work with my JR DSX9 not having much luck,do you know if is compatible.
Any landing that u dont die, is pretty dam awesome! -FlightTest
How much effect does the movement of the camera effect the airplane?
Hi im new to fpv and i was wondering were and what do i need to fly fpv. Thanks, matt
what type of antennas are those in the goggle and video TX?
hay will u post a build vid for the camera mount
How do you send your head position back to the airplane?
+Andrés Vélez I'd also like to know...
+Andrés Vélez gyros, makes me mad because i was gonna try to make a prototype of something like this when i finished school.
The Fat Shark headset sends a signal (from gyroscopes installed in it - called head tracking module) to the radio via a cable, then the radio controls servos.
Where else can you get the attitudes than from readymaderc?
Would you guys happen to be in florida by any chance?
I use adblocker, its not because I don't want to support flitetest, its because I dont want to be waiting around, or hitting skip this ad in 15 seconds. I am under the impression they still get the money.
Do a review of the Go Pro3 from an FPV standpoint!
"you said doo doo" 3:44 lol...
How the transition is possible?? The gopro's movies are very weight! a lot of giga.
guys change the SDHC card on your gopro. I can see defects in the vid. Try a SanDisk card. great vid :)
Nice review!
do you have to use a go pro for fpv
I would live to see a steering system based on the pilot's head turn. All you would need to control by hand would be the throttle. Simply look where you want to go.
what is the fpv controller they yoused
back when flitetest was enjoyable
caphead so true
3d cams kind of work like that you can connect 2 gopros to get 3d but both files have to go thru the software to give you one true 3d clip
I love this stuff! Thank you for the great reviews
You can use almost any camera as long as its small and light enough.
What are flight times on a zeph?
@Bilal khaled Why dont you try to search on google such as long range fpv, or long range range rc transmitter..there are a lot of stuffs out there with various of brand and price.
why was Joshua not flying the plane? and do i have to us a different remote to fly the plane if i do the fpv
Its illegal to fly a model aircraft out of sight solely by camera, its in the AMA quidelines used by the FAA.
Where cn I get that plane?
3:39 - 3:40
what is the guy in the back round doing?
hi flite test.
I want to ask about about micro HDMI to AV (FPV)
can i connect micro HMDMI to Ts832 using HMDI2AV mini?
without using RCD3015G
thanks for the time flite test: D ..
i love this channel
looks nice and stable.
Is that Quasimodo or Igor in the background at 3:38 ?
cant see the fenix 150 on lazertoyz.. Can anyone else find it ????
is the fpv your using in this video legal in the usa it looks like your using 5.8 frequency i thought that was illegal to use in the usa???????????
Thanks guys!
Can you get airsick with these?
whats your remote?
It all starts at 2:05
How I get one?
Great story guys.
How many channels for the servo's ?
2
Any one using the gopro hero 3 black for fpv or are you still waiting for all the bugs to be worked out??
im blown away, supa dupa , I must say, sensational
Watching the go-pro camera move around looks kind of like Johnny 5's head from the short circuit movie, lol.
Good video.
Ha, that RC plane looks like "Wall-E" with that gopro moving from side to side and up and down! LOL
pause at 3:40 WHAT IS THAT THING IN THE BACKGROUND?
Do a review of fenix 150
What is that big inflatable building?
Best idea ever
The problem is that any fat shark goggles are pretty expensive.
please tutorial on how to build PLEASE
Medic watches FliteTest!! :D
There are two controls
How are camera movements and aircraft movements done
Head Tracker connected to 2nd controller
Airborne service 1. connected to controller
There are two receivers for two controls on the plane
How the system works.
The head tracker module has a signal wire that connects to the radio transmitter that you pilot it with.
This a good taken for beginners, but what about going more detailed explanation how to become a long range flier with this equipment, because after your first week flying this equipment you will become anxious for expand the distance of your fly.
Looks like fun
i wonder what that would be like with the 350 qx :D
Friggen awesome!
new on youtube?
you could probably make a plane that depends on your head movements
now use satellite as a receiver and transmitter and you can fly from one place to another! :D is that possible at all? (that'd be too cool)
what if you could hook up 2 cameras and get 3d fpv MMHHMMM since the glasses do have two screens maybe there is a way to do this D:
