Lyrics:
Here, in a church, a small boy is kneeling
He prays to a god he does not know, he cannot feel
All of his sins of childhood he will remember
He will not cry, tears he will not cry
Man of sorrows, I won't see your face
Man of sorrows, you left without a trace
His small boy wonders, what was it all about?
Is your journey over - has it just begun?
Vision of a new world from the ashes of the old
"Do what thou wilt!", he screams from his cursed soul
A tortured seer, a prophet of our emptiness
Wondering why, wondering why...
Man of sorrows, I won't see your face
(I won't see your face)
Man of sorrows, you left without a trace
His small boy wonders, what was it all about?
Is your journey over - has it just begun?
A man of sorrows, wrecked
With thoughts that dare not speak their name
Trapped inside a body, made to feel only guilt and shame
His anger all his life - "I hate myself!", he cried
"Do what thou wilt!"
"Do what thou wilt!", he cried
Man of sorrows, I won't see your face
(I won't see your face)
Man of sorrows, you left without a trace
(left without a trace)
His small boy wonders, what was it all about?
Is your journey over - has it just begun?
Man of sorrows, I won't see your face
(I won't see your face)
Man of sorrows, you left without a trace
(left without a trace)
His small boy wonders, what was it all about?
Is your journey over - has it just begun?
Has it just begun?
the best version of this masterpiece
GREATE SONG SO FILOSOFER AND STRONG ITS REAL ROCKNROLL
BRUCE DICKINSON REAL MAN
Bruce GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
La mejor versión de todas 😍
Que voz!!😍😍😍
ITS MORE THAT AMAZING
this is SONG
@PrimeSlave I must agree with that. He's also underrated as guitarist. I think that's because he wasn't loud "its-all-about-me" ego maniac like some guitarists back there in 80's.
Agreed 100%
Adrian owns every single guitarist in the world. the end.
I feel dave Murray and Adrian smith and chris degarmo and Mike Wilton where the best duo guitarist difficult time compare but Adrian was definetily better than Jannick
Solo is very good but Adrian's blows this away but song sounds better I like reverb on Bruce's voice here bit more then studio version
@PrimeSlave every single solo he recorded is pure ownage. listen to psycho motel and asap(his solo projects),he absolutely owns there.
Better Than EPIC! \w/
this should have been on fear of the dark
no fkin way
I like his mature voice better
best than original
This is the original.
Krisztian Orvos no is not
Yes this is the original from 1992 with Janick 1997 accident of birth Version was recorded for the record
fantastic....but yhe solo sucks a lot! long live Smith!
Adrian's solo fits much better . Gers butchers everything he touches in terms of the leads .
What a shit solo. Adrian's version is the best. Feeling and harmony. Long live for Adrian Smith (2)
The 1992 version is a demo version, a pre-production demo version with unfinished parts, a provisional solo, and arrangements of the song in a very basic, very embryonic phase... It is a work prior to the first attempt at Balls to Picasso, the one in which the band was Skin with Myke Gray or during the process of it. Bruce asked Gers to help him with the guitar. This is not an outtake from Fear of the Dark or part of the sessions for that Iron Maiden record. As far as is known, he has never been presented to the band, so it is Dickinson's solo work. The song, however, is as old as Tears of the Dragon, when it was called Pendragon's Tears. It is perfectly noticeable in the section of synthesized strings, in the arrangements of the song, since they are identical to those of the first version of Tears... although, Myke Gray was there and the song is in a more advanced state, with a final mix Without mastering. That first attempt at an album with Skin had very good songs...also on the second attempt, with session musicians although they were more experimental.
Let's remember that Bruce recorded the first attempt at Balls to Picasso a few months before the presentation of Fear of the Dark (May 11) and that the second attempt was recorded before the start of the tour and on the rest days of the presentation tour.
Only three or four songs from the first and second attempts could have been Iron Maiden songs if they had been well adapted... It is not known if Tears of the Dragon was presented to the band, if so, it was a big mistake to discard it.
