I AM ON MY 6TH GERMAN SHEPHERD AND HAVE HAD ALL MALES. NONE OF MY DOGS EVER PEED IN THE HOUSE. HOWEVER I AGREE WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING ELSE YOU HAVE SAID. THEY ARE THE GREATEST BREED IN THE WORLD ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪💪🦴🦴🦴
My German Shepard only marked once in the house. He was told off on the spot and never again. As a puppy he had accidents, but it was minimal; like first thing in the morning and as a baby couldn’t wait so peed on the newspaper outside his crate. Also had a couple of accidents in his crate, as he was just a baby
My 4th German Shepherd. Never marking inside. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS ASSANINE OPINION OF THIS WONDERFUL DOG??? WHY WOULD INTENSE LOYALTY!! DO ALL THE GSDS A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THEM, I AM REPORTING THIS AS PURE HATE!!
I had 2 male and 2 female GSD's plus 2 mixed GSD's. There was no difference between them. It's the owners and the training each dog gets from the very first day that make the dogs. I loved my boys so very much. They were gentle giants. We've been feeding raw meat diet for twelve years now. I wish I had done it from the very first dog we got. I will never feed kibble again.

That's not true. There can be great difefrences among GSD-s. Some are easier to handle, while.others are more stubborn. It depends on the bloodline AND the education they receive.
@@gringling57 I feed them human grade raw meat. Since my old guy cracked a molar on bones I started adding bone meal instead called Better Bones. They also get leftover cooked meat sometimes since I'm eating a carnivore diet myself. The meat has always been frozen then thawed especially since they mostly get pork now that meat in general has become so expensive. Any specific question?
@@gringling57 I never bought commercial available raw food diet for dogs. They still have stuff mixed in that I don't want them to eat. Basically I buy meat in bulk at Costco and freeze it. I have two dogs at the moment. An almost 2 year old ACD female and an ACD/GSD mixed breed boy 13+ years old. She's the picture of health and the Vet always is amazed at her muscle tone and overall health. My old boy has had health issues all his life. Knee surgeries when he was 8, at 11 he started to have seizures, which we keep in check to once a year at the moment with CBD oil and Gabapentin plus he now gets other supplements to help with Arthitis and cognitive function. Even with all these problems he doesn't look his age. He still goes for walks every day, he jumps on and off the bed, sofa on his own, still plays with toys but he's slowed down some. Without his good diet, we'd lost him years ago, I'm sure of it. Funny thing is, both also like home made, raw Sauerkraut. I started making it last year and dropped some on the floor. They cleaned it up and ever since then I give them a spoonful whenever I have it. They turn their nose up on sweet potatoe treats even when wrapped with dried duck. He used to like carrot sticks but just sniffs in disgust whenever he comes across it. If given I choice they really don't like veggies. Treats they get are single ingredient, like freeze dried sardines, of beef liver, or dried duck strips. Despite my old boy doing well considering, the Vet always tries to push commercial dog food for senior, and I always say, heck no. the last time he laughed and said, he knew I would shoot him down with that one. I don't understand WHY? mention crap food when they do well on real food? I just don't get it.
Not only do I have a male GSD, but I have 2. My boys are well mannered, trained protection assets, lovable members of the family and very aware. Trained by a former navy EOD tech and myself, my boys are huge, scary looking dorks. Play, play, play but when it's time for business.... let's just say I'm glad to be the leader of their pack and not on the business end of those fangs. I HIGHLY recommend GSD's for any family or individual. Truth be told now...they always look forward to watching "On Patrol Live" with me on Friday and Saturday nights. They howl in approval at their K9 "frens" on TV.
My female GS was more aggressive than my male, BUT I bought her at a breeding for police dogs. He was SO gentle nobody believed , friends laughed, that he would hurt anyone. Someone whom I knew walked up behind me in the woods and startled all of He did not hear them bc of a motor running. A hundred pounds flew through the air for the guy’s throat and we knocked him to the ground like a football tackle 3 times before we could grab him. Gentle enough kids climbed all over him and loved people. Be sure you have energy before getting a male or female GS! GSs are the best breed I have had from having had many. And SO smart.
Our male shepherd doesn’t mark at all, and is also sooo submissive to our female shepherd lol! The only aggression he has is towards other dogs… but he learned that behavior from our female. Otherwise, he is the worlds biggest love bug! He doesn’t know personal space ❤️ Our guy is energetic, loves to hike, etc….. but doesn’t honestly doesn’t require stimulation…. He thoroughly enjoys being a house dog more than an outside dog haha. He loves to chill and snuggle, or watch his human sisters play 😊 He is MASSIVE (biggest shepherd I’ve ever seen) and we weren’t expecting that lol… so yes, he sheds a TON! His loyalty is like no other. & he loves to love and be loved. I’ll never own another type of dog! We love our male and female shepherds!
I have hade 5 male German shepards and every thing you say is wrong. You make them sound like a killing machine. My German shepards were the most gentle and wonderful dogs and loved people.

The only reasons for not adopting a German Shepherd are (1) not being willing to devote the time and energy to train, exercise, groom, play with them and show them affection and (2) not having the money to feed them well (not kibble--raw diet or freeze dried raw food). That's it. They are fabulous dogs--the best.
Don't agree with the headine on this. We've had 3 females and 1 male. The male is more energetic but he is MUCH more obedient and friendly toward people and dogs. He's also much quieter. Our female is totally territorial and the barking is a problem.

It's up to the owner and the training. A lot of misleading information. If you want a German Shepherd then expect to have to make time for this breed dog.
