Good music should do that. Wish we had more of that today but their is a load of it from the past. I recommend giving Supertramp, Genesis, and ELO a try.
Didn't like it? It's a quiet film with nothing really going on but I think that's cause it focused on the human experience. It's one I had to grow into but once I did I can't help loving it. It's one of a kind. Nothing else I can say to describe it

I didn't like it much the first time either, but even so the main thing I liked about it was the atmosphere and sense of adventure going to a new city on your own terms. I always had a wanderlust so the movie really took advantage of that. I only recently saw it again yesterday after about 6 years or so ago. About the time this video came out. I grew a much better appreciation for the characters and the story than I did before. Maybe I didn't notice it as much or maybe it didn't resonate with me that much before but it was a really relatable story on the difficulties of finding yourself in the midst of growing up. It's not my favorite Miyazaki film, but I look at it now as just a little side experiment to the bigger ones he made. I like it better than Ponyo at least.

That doesn't happen with me........ever so that says a lot to me about that lol. Pretty forgettable and strange flick, even for a Ghibli film.
