- first action for my project tractor (big blue) - ford - newholland 8970 since fitting the big Holset hx50 turbo
we take it to a local tractor pull Ballymena festival of steam which ends up an absolute mudfest!
some great classic tractors in action on the tractorpull including a fiat 180-90 and a few old county tractors including a sought after county 1884.
stay tuned for more videos to come. I'm going to try post more regular as we come into the darker winter nights

The 90 series fiats are what i would call the coolest looking tractors just love that design. My neighbor when i was a kid had a humble 110/90 and i was in love every time he used it :P

I absolutly love the 180-90. They sound so good and have a lot of power. Sadly most of them are in bad condition. And happy birthday to your dad.

The 8970 is a real traction monster with the super steer axle and the weights slung out further than standard 70 series,

Great video - love the old school tractors that Fiat 180-90 is a beast! Any Fiat 110-90 tractors there ? Always a good grunt off those tractors - you can hear them comin up the road at quite a distance! Could you not have put a lower links bar across and put the chain over it then connected it to the drawbar - you might got more weight transfer to the rear wheels!

I enjoyed that, also interesting to see that hx50 spool, what size/cc is that engine? Is it mechanical or common rail?
I remember talking to you about it , she is the 7.5L powerstar , nice big dirty Bosch pse6120a I think is the first few numbers. 12mm maxed out here then I got injector nozzles and 13mm elements, she can party now, seeing 50psi on the gauge!👍🏻👍🏻
@@allistairc123 ah yes I’ve just watched your previous video, that twin scroll mod you did in the adapter will have really helped the low down spool ability keeping it all sealed up and properly twin scroll. 7.5 litre yes that’s plenty haha. What size inducer does the hx50 have I saw the 22cm rear housing on there. Well done keep up the hard work.

Great to see the old man out enjoying himself ..lookin at the footage is the rear diff lock switch itself off on big blu towards the end of the pull ?

Im wondering has it got a steering angle sensor also ? I've worked on a few renaults and Massey of that age and they had a steering angle sensor either on a king pin or maybe as with yours the super steer axle ? that would kick out the rear diff lock when steered above 15 degrees . Just a thought

Would a full powershift gearbox be better for tractor pulling vs a manual one with splitters?
In farm class yes because you can start fast and keep dropping gears down as load increases. You can't change down in a manual
