I heard her on the Cardiff Singer of the World last night. It’s the sort of moment you hope for when watching this competition. Absolutely incredible voice.
An amazing crystal sounding voice I was privileged to go to performances of her in Cape Town and was in the Auditorium the evening she won a competition here in S A , Masabane is phenomenal and its wonderful to have watched and heard her in the Cardiff competition !!
I love this aria, and was listening to Nilsen a Flagstaff singing this aria. THEN I LISTENED TO THIS GREAT PERFORMANCE, WOW, SO GREAT SINGING... OPERA IS NOT DEAD !
She may be a Spinto soprano. I may prefer a more heavy dramatic Sopranos to sing this role but this woman is one of the rare few lighter ones that can actually pull off this aria. She's splendiferous! Amazing!
Ms Rangwanasha is absolutely fantastic! Brava!! The lighting and the use of the space is great too. But in the spirit of honest criticism, I’m afraid to say that the editing on this video was horrendous. The cuts were so fast and furious that that by the end I had to stop watching! I loved the concept behind the video and of greeting the ‘teure Halle’ again after her absence, but I’m afraid your videographer needs to step back and not put themselves front and centre as the final edit has effectively destroyed the original concept by making it unwatchable. Music AND singing of this quality does not need gilding or improvement by this kind of quick cut framing, most especially framing that seeks to be ‘in time’ to the music by ramping up the tempo. The message then becomes that Wagner needs this sort of ‘corrective help’ and that surely can’t be consistent with the ROH core values. If it is it most certainly shouldn’t be. Trust your younger audience more please!
What overblown nonsense. It's not 'unwatchable' at all, quite the reverse. Afraid you have watched too many TH-cam opinion videos on editing. Nobody is remotely suggesting Wagner needs help. The video is telling a story which is part of an overall film and makes the point very eloquently, I don't think you have understood it at all.
@@MACEASY2 I gave an honest critique of the editing and that such quick cuts are quite impossible for the human eye to process - many of the cuts were easily under half a second; by anyone’s assessment, that is a rapid eye movement cut and does not give enough time for the viewer to process what they are seeing. The effect is jarring and disjointed. My frame of reference is not limited to TH-cam, thanks. To dismiss my critique as nonsense and overblown comes across as a little desperate or somewhat biased in favour of the videographer... Also, which part of my response did you find overblown, nonsensical or uncomprehending? My critique of the singing? Or my response to the music? The staging? If you had bothered to engage with what I was saying, I was attempting to convey that the editing didn’t match the excellence of both the singing and the staging and indeed the concept, which I thought were all excellent. Your blanket dismissal of my critique reveals your unthinking bias and demonstrates your failure to look at all aspects of this video objectively. Try engaging with the substance of what I wrote rather than emotionally responding to the fact we are not in agreement. It seems to me that you do not like that there might be someone who doesn’t like what you like. That really isn’t a legitimate or intelligent response to what I was trying to say. You’ll note that my response was not entirely negative. I can’t say the same for your comment.

What a beautiful, warm, round, luminous voice! Fantastic.
Ya but the piano sound is awful, like a cheap yamaha. She deserves something better.
👀, the girl can sing... ✨💜✨... what a tone of voice for wagner 👏🏻, 🐧

Dead on. A heftier, thicker voice would be more effective. I can see her as Desdemona but much less so as Elisabeth.
Omg she sings this perfect!! I could see her as a wonderful Elizabeth, Elsa, and Sieglinde.
that is an insanely beautiful voice. wow.

Beautiful lady, voice of an angel, wonderful and appropriate message!! Now to get the kids' version of the vaccine so we can cross the pond again!!
All the ghost of the hall applauded at the end...
Why should kids who have zero problem with that virus get vaccinated against it? Let those who feel they need it take it.

Very pleasant. But not thrilling. The German is just not there yet, too.
Non è lo strumento per questo repertorio.

You see! There *is* something upon which we agree!
She is better than some young singers but needs more training and her voice may not be big enough for this! She is not that great!
Beautiful music even so I don't really like wagner. (The person he was)
You wanted to write :《 WAGNER 》! 🙃
