Metformin and berberine HCL has helped me reduce my glucose levels. I was never told why I got type 2 diabetes only that my anti-GAD antibodies were slightly raised. It made no sense to me as an athlete who exercised everyday and weight training for years whilst already taking great care with diet. I was actually 5 months into the OMAD diet when I was diagnosed. I rarely eat junk food and was never a big lover of carb meals. Sweet treats were kept to a minimum as well as fizzy drinks. For years all I eat were beef stews and the like and the odd slice of olive bread. I was big on fish and sardines. I was never a big eater and meal sizes were always small. My diagnosis made no sense and still doesn't.
What is your A1c level? If it's higher than 5.6, this may be your reason for diagnosis. This happened to me, and I do eat a lot of complex carbs. I'm working on changing it now. Diabetes is an evil monster.
@Cristian-hu9bx glucose can't get into the cells cause they are coated with a nice layer of fat. The pancreas starts pumping out more insulin. Over time you become insulin resistant. People who eat a high fat keto diet will almost always fail an oral glucose tolerance test.
Don't have a cure for diabetes 😂. Do intermittent fasting eating once a day. No further medicine needed, and in this high inflation period, you will also save money on food. THE END
easy explanation. I take metformin and have nothing but good results. weight loss, sugar levels and changed my diet. Diet is the key here, no sugar, soda's, alcohol, and you will be fine. Get a CGM and see what foods affect your sugar. I was surprised to learn what raised my sugar. Metformin and CGM. Great combination. (CGM: Continuous Glucose Monitoring).
This is one evil tablet,i swear its messed my body up big time,i would recommend to anyone to work their diabetes through diet control,tablets like these will only destroy you.
Just because you had issues doesn’t mean the medicine is evil.. it’s just not working for you. I’m on metformin and after a few days of a mild upset tummy I have zero side effects now. Everyone is different.

OMAD was the reason you got type 2 Diabetes. You are active and you were only eating once a day causing one drastic insulin spike.
Your diagnosis makes perfect sense. Carbohydrate doesn't cause insulin resistance. Fat does

Ok. But why dies metmorphin make me extremely tired after taking it? I asked my Dr and she responded with "huh?" And nothing else.
Check ur phosphorus level to see if low. My 23yr old daughter literally died cause of it. Pl check for low phosphorus level.
