    I think the coolest aspect of a dreadnaught is the fact that each one is a living library of their chapters history and have vast amounts of knowledge on warfare and tactics.
    "Brother dreadnaught do you know how our chapter won this battle 3000 years ago?"

      @JPooger ปีที่แล้ว +159

      @@Ragnarra it's not just that primaris last shorter. Whatever reason is it's stated that the primaris version of dreadnaught actually drains the user. It burns up their life force or whatever. Personally it just sounds like the writers tried to make it more "from dark" but it just comes across as silly and bad writing XD

    • @Ragnarra
      @Ragnarra ปีที่แล้ว +89

      @@JPooger well your not wrong it is an example of bad writing. If they explained the mechanics and the fact the primaris have more implants which make the whole old design of a dreadnaught no longer viable for extended periods. It would be like shoving someone into a chaos dreadnaught without the same chaos bits that make that worse. I’m beginning to think that you probably need a mechanical engineering crash course to write these kinds of things good. Or at least make it believable.

      @@samuelfelixdasilva1791It's stupid and short-sighted is what it is. The whole point of Dreadnoughts is so that their pilots can continue to serve for as long as they can, serving as reliquaries of knowledge and experience alongside allowing the fallen brothers within to still serve rather than be executed or languish in some retirement home. They're meant, in a way, to save the brothers from being lost through death by preserving them for as long as possible while remaining capable combatants.
      Making a Pattern that _burns_ through users like las munitions in a fight against the Tyranids is the complete opposite of the point. Even the Leviathans probably didn't burn through pilots as quickly, and even then they can be somewhat justified thanks to the sheer amount of firepower the Pattern provides.

    I’m surprised a game where you play as a dreadnought hasn’t been made, like it would be a big hit I would think especially given how customizable the dreadnoughts could be and how deep and rich the story can be of a veteran Astartes gravely wounded and put into one of these machines so that he could continue serving the emperor and as you progress through the game it kinda like goes through the ages playing that same dreadnought fighting in different theaters of war facing many horrors as the player watches this space marine he has spent so much time with begins to slowly lose his sanity.

      Maybe start the game in a mission where you ARE the veteran space Marine, leading younger inexperienced Marines through a mission. The mission would be scripted for you to be defeated and you get one glorious last stand (Halo Reach style?) And succumb to the hordes before reinforcements arrive. I feel like the fact they ONLY get woken up right around fights is the reason its so hard. Because Stasis is NOT sleep, its like a pause button on their brains. So its just NONSTOP fights with VERY little time to relax and "come down" from Battle Adrenaline.

Oh, and he is a vereran from the heresy, but he doesn't like to sleep, he lives (lived :(... ) to hunt Kalkator, an Iron Warrior that was his friend in the heresy, but he has to do an aliance with him to fight a WAAHGH.

    I imagine them singing, humming, and whistling as they stomp into battle, throwing in the occasional, "Pew, pew!" as they blast shit they loathe. I mean, why wouldn't they? Their voices must sound superb inside those things--the eternal shower singing experience. Other space marines sometimes hearing, "Singing in the Rain," thinking, Oh, that's just Brother Bronchitis.

      @@johnnyrocket1685 Yes, they most certainly can. They are mortally wounded space marines interred in sarcophagi mounted inside a robotic exoskeleton equipped with crushing fists, stompy feet, and shooty guns. The marine inside can most certainly speak as they are often consulted as advisors to Captains and chapter masters as ancient wiseman due to their massive amounts of combat experience. They do indeed speak, and they most likely sing songs like, "Singing in the Rain," and battle hymns in honor of the holy Emperor himself.

    If we overanalyze this:
    There is body horror here and that would be psychologically difficult for the pilot to process. But perhaps they get used to it over time and realize they are the equivalent of a walking war-machine god, able to shape the outcome of battles.
    The worst part of being in a DN is probably the down-time between battles. Nothing to do except wait for the next battle and contemplate existence. Terrible.
    So attaching some Netflix module inside the DN would be very beneficial.
