    My favorite part is the non-coherent screaming halfway through cut with the strangely operatic mixed with the break beats and syncopated digi timestops....just brilliantly eclectic and unapologetically original.

    I had a friend ask me what the meaning of this music video was. I didn't want to respond at first. I told him that art doesn't have to have "meaning". art just needs to invoke feeling, reaction, emotion or even inspiration. as long as your senses were stimulated in a way that can't be replicated, then it did its job. Igorrr is ART in its purest form.

      I think the woman went into the Underworld for some reason, the realm of the dead, maybe she was looking for someone. Anyway, we see that she becomes white and ghostly at the end, like the others meaning she may never leave. Or perhaps she was already dead or in the process of dying and this is just her arrival to the afterlife.

    The progress Igorrr is making with his musical ability and with his friends is immense.
    ieuD was classically batshit crazy full of those unexpected beautiful musical twists Igorrr is known for. But let's talk about Opus.
    Opus Brain is much more stable in the structuring of the song. Starts with catchy rhythms and distortions building up the tension for the first emotional drop, signified by the first "pull" of the character - immersing into the white waters. Amazing drop prepares you after a proper build up into Xoox Oxxo screams that impact emotionally followed by opera singer I still did not learn the name of and boy I should she is fucking amazing. The guitar effect at 3:13 is absolutely fucking nit-wits! The ending of first drop at 3:20 with strange disharmonics leads you back into calmer structures, to regain breath and enjoy soundscapes, textures and singing. Similarly, Igorrr is leaving some space to appreciate upcoming chaos via continuous build up.
    And there comes the pull again - character is falling and my ASMR is full on, goosebumps all over. If I even tried to use words to pinpoints a few fragments of the layers of the song up till the moment in 5:10, I have no balls to try to describe what happens afterwards until the very end.
    Every second of the rest of the song crafted with delicate detail to IMPACT.
    Looking forward to shout my lungs out on BRUTAL ASSAULT 2017 for you.
    P.S.: i read here people being dissatisfied and shit. :D :D crazy. Some folks seem to be unhappy with the amount of metal present in the song. I LOVE IT! So well done! Perfect use of the genre, nothing generic. I wish metal was as good as when Igorrr makes use of it.

      awsome coment bro. You described this song/video much better then i ever could. At this moment, i feel that Igorrr is clearly refining his sound, bringing us polished, intricate, delicate and matured music. Altough maybe lacking harsher breakbeats (like previous albums), this feels, looks and sounds toughtful and balanced, coupling beautifully multiple elements that arent usually together.. at all. And the visuals omg, the symbolism of them, totally worth rewatching the video, just to capture the small details and the overall concept of it.

      The "opera singer" like you said, is called Laure "Rïcïnn" Le Prunenec. She sang on Igorrr's previous albums, Corpo-Mente, and Öxxö Xööx (the band). And yes, she is awesome and ieuD and Opus Brain totally hyped me for this new album!

      they both often collaboratte in their side/main projects. Laurent for example also did some songs for Whourkr side project, and Laure did for the EP with Ruby My dear (Maigre). Its a very interesting dynamic between Gautier Serre (his main projects are Igorrr, Whourkr, Corpo Mente) Laure Le Prunerec (her main projects are Riciin and Ele Ypsis), and Laurent Lenoir (Öxxö Xööx); it feels they all give insights/ideas and contributions, but the main vision of each project is personal and unique

    This song just completely short-circuited my brain. I have no other way of putting it. I was drawn in by the bizarre but oddly top-tier video, but then... it's like this song both cannot decide what it's supposed to be and yet also knows exactly what it's going for and my brain just.... can't process it.

    As a prog metal drummer of 20 years, I can tell that whoever made this is well aware of how a human plays drums. Even the drum and bass shit isn’t beyond the human capacity.
    Which is rare for electronic music, often it’s programmed in such a way that no human could play it, but this is possible for the most part.

    Incredible editing, cinematography, post-production, visual aesthetic, palates of colour... the sound editing alone, & of course the opus itself. Fantastic mixed-media art; I can't imagine the song without the video; conceptually they become as one artpiece.
    I like the imagery and symbolism, and the journey/story. Could be philosophical or literal. "Opus Brain" - brain being the operative word to me. You see someone encased, like the walls of our psyche. Preconceived notions. Ignorance. The subject slips deeper and deeper, confronting themes. Are they religious or societal ideas? Are they literal struggles?
    However:
    The violence and outcone of the takedowns to the next lower levels, and the docile body language of the subject at the end juxtaposed with the other dancers, and the lack of life, colour and passion in the subject at the end seems symbolic of death to me. Especially as they descended to a literal rock (dirt) bottom.
    The gold around the 'priestess' figures mouth, and the use of gold with the first entity of the video, suggests gold is symbolic of power.
    Normally, I'd want to look at the removal of gear/'armour' as freeing. But in this context, the subject is almost like a mindless drone by the end of it. Perhaps they were protecting themselves from these outside destructive powers, and they lose the battle. Opus Brain. Is this commentary on our own thoughts as individuals, societies, cultures and nations of the world?
    Are we unarmed and losing a battle in our minds, despite trying not to assimilate and maintain free-thinking and individuality with whatever protective measures (suits of armour) we put in place?
    Do we become dead inside, ashen and without life in our eyes due to dominating forces in our world?
    Is it a more literal metaphor? Perhaps war. Viewing the subject as enemy, conquering nations with force under high powers?
    I freaking love that this is as thought-provoking as it is. I would love to hear other interpretations of the meaning!

      Flusterette great analysis! I thought about someone doomed from birth watching this personnaly. Exiting paradise unprepared, facing wonder and falling under the cruelty of mankind. I look at the jellyfish like they are sperms and at the tube used for breathing (don't know what it's officially called) as an umbilical chord. Just my silly first analysis!

    • @GabberUpUrAss
      @GabberUpUrAss 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @Samuel Mercier
      I was thinking the other way around and that the 'tube' symbolizes life support, since she turns pale once they remove it. On the other hand it makes sense for the tube to be an umbilical cord as well.
      Either way, Igorrr delivers quality material as usual.

      I simply saw it as a descent into a dangerous realm that goes wrong/fails. After that there are many different directions. Is she an explorer? Is she on a mission to defeat a foe (presumably the old woman)? Is it internal? External? After that you can go even further as you have. I would personally attribute a more spiritual significance, given the use of the sitar, the dress of the old woman and the book she reads out of. She seems to be the 'boss' - and upon being confronted the girl in the diving suit seems to lose. Once her suit is off she seems to lose her willpower, supporting the idea that the suit acted as armour from an external contaminant. And at the end of the video she seems to become one of 'them' (the dancers).
      Personally I kind of like to keep it as stripped back of interpretation as possible. It gives it a lot of mystery/power, but I did really enjoyed reading someone try to take the video all of the way.
