    Yesterday, I tried the Yamaha P-S500 Digital Piano at the Yamaha Flagship store in my area. The instruments sounded so Cool! Even the Pipe Organ Tutti sounded like I was in a Big Church. Not as fancy with bells and whistles as the Clavinova Series. But it's sounds are so Nice!

    I never heard such masterpiece PS500 before 🎹piano so realistic I think very difficult to get any other brand. CK lineup is also awesome and Clavinova I think is waste because you can't take it anywhere outside just should use as home piano. P lineup in yamaha doing great👍 I want to buy PS500 & DGX series also good

    Yeah, would’ve liked to know what is the range of the onboard controls…what all can one actually do without the app. Are layering and split functions available on the keyboard touchscreen? Record features? Otherwise, nice review !

    Cool product, but I’m not sure if it’s a product that makes people who weren’t even thinking about buying a digital piano, say I have to have a digital piano. People who already are into digitals will probably balk at the GHS action. For the price, they would need to have at least a nominal upgrade in the action to move these to people who already own a digital piano.
    Yamaha has the best app, but they need to apply some gamification features within the app, and have a touchscreen on the piano, that allows access to keyboard parameters and gamification features. It’s 2023, all digitals should have a touchscreen. You can buy handheld gaming devices for $100 that have great screens. There is no reason that once you get to about the p-125 range that there should not be a touchscreen.
    An app with stat tracking like a peloton, learning games, karaoke features and visual ambience for playing all integrated in an easy to use interface would help move a lot of pianos. Integrating this with a TV would be great to involve others than just the player.
    Plus, named sounds that allude to famous songs are a must. Casio has this on their new pianos, and I think a lot of people would be drawn to that. In 2023, these sounds should be authentic and high quality. I want to be playing a simple bassline along with Thriller, and it sounds authentic straight out of the box.
    These features should be available on even the entry level, and the pricier pianos should be differentiated by the actions, overall build quality, and inputs and outputs available. As a guitarist, my dream piano from Yamaha would also have a basic Line 6 helix amp modeler built in that would you allow to plug in a guitar to the piano. Yamaha does great things in the guitar space, and they own line 6. There is no reason, they shouldn’t be integrating and mixing it up with guitar and piano tech.
    $800 for a new P-125 with touchscreen and mic input
    $1500 for upgraded action, larger touchscreen, pro audio outputs and slightly beefier sound system.
    $2500 for an even beefier sound system, largest touch screen, hdmi out and built in guitar modeler.
    I think those features would move more pianos, not gimmicky lights.

    Firstly a great demo and review. I'm looking to replace a 20 year-old electric piano anything for sale today is going to be way better. I'm sold on ps500 but i wonder how it compares against the yamaha p525?

    How does it, and especially the keybed, compare to the p515.... thanks for the vid and info!

    • @lumpichu
      @lumpichu ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mr.PhatsVarietyVibesShow P515's action is indeed heavy, however the S500 will hardly compare favorably, given the GHS is Yamaha's lowest end keybed, used on $500 instruments. Even me, as a beginner, wouldn't describe it as "great feeling". The best feature of the GHS is that it's "hammer action". But the lights are impressive, you need to save somewhere I guess. You don't save that much on the controls and display (another obvious weakness).

      What's the best action in your opinion, on Yamaha@@lumpichu

    • @lumpichu
      @lumpichu 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GASNICABRUNATNA Even when I tried many of the current ones at least a little, as a beginner, I can't judge much. But... I bought the P515 in the end. I liked the feel a lot, even when it's heavy. Probably the most. And also the fact it's wood. I wouldn't want a plastic one. And after the NWX, I'd say I like the ones on CLP7xx series a lot (GrandTouch-S wood and plastic). They are nice and remarkably light and quite quiet :) But I didn't want the Clavinovas for other reasons.

    Here's a free Piano Fact for you: The Yamaha Motor Company, that manufactures motorcycles etc., is a completely different company. In WW2, Yamaha was forced to produce mechanical parts for the Japanese military, which after the war developed into the production of motorcycles. The motorcycle business was spun off from Yamaha Corporation in the 1950s, and today Yamaha Corporation only owns a small minority stake in the Yamaha Motor Company.

    I wish Yamaha would just make a better use interface for the P515. The CK line and this are a disappointment. The P515 has amazing action and piano sounds, But trying to edit anything is EXTREMELY tedious. Just put the CK interface on the P515 or something. Any thoughts?

    The PS500 is horribly overpriced the whole Synthesia falling note thing is a waste of time. The CK series is spectacular I have a CK61 (wanted the lighter touch for organ songs with my band) but the CK88 is a fantastic instrument. The 515 has nice action, but it’s far too heavy for gigging the CK is way better for that.
