Greetings. Excellent option. Less weight, and I have used kriega sling bag and waist pack for years. Very tough and waterproof. Luggage is Kapoa 37 litre, same either side on 660 Tenere as exhaust does not stick out, leaving panniers narrower than handlebars. I like the security and the size means we dont need a top box and this keeps all weight inside the axles for a more stable bike. Happy travels
Hi! Glad to hear you´re happy with your Kriega products. Can´t wait to get some more testing out of these! Yes, it´s nice to get most of the weight as low as possible. =) Happy travels to you too!
Well done Pia, the best way to be more confident with your bike is to learn how to fix it and how to install add-ons, and you made it look so easy! Getting real pro!! Keep it up, you're doing great!!
Thanks, Nelio! I think you're right, it helps a lot to get to know the bike. Glad we got the chance to install all the add-ons ourselves, with support for most of it. Thanks again! =)
Very nice new soft luggage! The best way to ADV travel. I think you will like these much better than the hard cases. Plus, they are less dangerous to your leg in case of a fall. Ride safe my friends!
Thanks for your detailed explenation. You have convinced me that it will be this exact same softluggage system that will be with me next year when i am doing a very large trip. I probably will also buy one extra drybag and the bag that can hold two bottles. Or maybe that i will buy the Rotopax system. One gallon of spare fuel can save you from a lot of suffering. Pushing a bike to a gasstation is not funny. I am experienced with that. Had to walk 12 km'ters once with an empty 1 liter drinking bottle to a gasstation. Leaving my bike behind. Wondering if it still would be there. Used 2 liters to fill the 1 liter bottle up. Walked back. The bike still there and my stuff. And that one liter was barely enough to reach that same gasstation again. My feet were destroyed because of walking in motorboots such a long way. Had blood on my my heels. That was my last experience without taking spare-fuel ever again. Although that i do not like the extra weight that you constantly have on your bike. I hope that you have a pleasant staying at the place you currently are. Many thanks for this video. You are a very genuine person. And every time i am attaching my own Kriega bags at my bike i am sure i will think of you. Bye,🙏
Hi Michael! I want to give these a proper try before giving a review of them. I find it´s hard to see negatives of a product at first, because we get so caught up in the newness of it all, you know? It´s a bit like falling in love - you´re so blinded by fascination =)
Soft luggage is way better than hard in my opinion due to the fact that if you have a crash. The hard luggage can do more damage to you that rider than the soft. Anyway great choice of luggage. Good work installing. 👍👍
Agreed! That´s why I opted for the soft cases. Plus, the hard cases? Been there, done that, ruined those :) Let´s see if I can make these last a bit longer. Thanks, Mark! :)
Great system, I have the same on my GS, also 32+22. It has passed the first (low speed) crash test with flying colors. Like how it is super stable with only 2 straps per bag. I added an OS6 to the front of both, super handy for water bottles and extra clothing - maybe useful for your big trip as well!
Hi Eric! We´re doing well, both impatient and nervous to get on our big trip :) Thank you! I´m sure these will be a better option than the hard luggage. They´ve lasted for more kms than the hard cases already!
Hey there from Oz.. Great choice. Been using Kriega for a while. Really tough lil dudes.. Whenever Covid lifts, you all need to get over here for some real riding. Plus, you can work on your tan. lol
Hehe yeah I would love to come there to ride! I don’t know what a tan is… I just become a tomato in the sun 😅 But with the helmet and gear on I might stand a chance 😅
Too true. It isnt for everyone. We live near Keppel Island if you need to check it out. Also have a look at Kroombit Tops which is a short ride. Not any better than you guys have, just different. Its a bit of an enduro track these days but there would be plenty of peeps looking out for you all. Roll on Covid. BTW, havent seen a snake or large spider in about 2 years so why worry. :-)
Ride the Bean Should I precise luggages lockable to the bike, not the contents of it. for Kriega I they sell some special cable to pass through the bags : kriega.com/adventure/steelcore-security-strap
Oh, I see! I thought you meant the contents of it was locked, just like you understood :) The Kriega ones have a lot of molle that can be locked onto the rack, and also the top itself can be padlocked :)
It’s the white liner that makes them waterproof. Sure you know. Make sure there is no hard or sharp items rubbing against the white liner. It can perforate due vibrations.
Hi Chris! I considered those, and thought it looked awesome. I worried about shipping times and import fees. The Reckless 80 is more expensive and would take longer to arrive. At the moment, shipping to Norway takes at least a month. Hope your day is awesome too!
@@RidetheBean I understand, I try to get the Reckless 80. I have no big trips planned for this year, so time is not my problem. I have no Reck on my Tènerè so far, that's why it's cheaper for me. Keep doing this content. I'm looking forward to see your journey hope you can start soon. 😄
I'd like to know if these bags can be strapped smaller. If you're riding with less stuff to make the narrower. I know you pack them out but just interested? Stay safe xx
This is correct, I have a slightly offset rack on a BMW R1200GSA with two OS32's and I pack the exhaust side one lighter with less stuff and it just compresses when attached. It looks smaller than the other side, even though it is the same size. I decided this was better than going for the OS22 on that side as I thought that was too small.
Helpful video. Thanks for sharing. Since you use the oem yamaha rack, which is symmetrical, did you choose a larger panier on left side for preference? I think the 32L on both side should look symmetrical, correct? Have a nice day!
On the right side the exhaust sticks out a bit, so the rack sticks out a bit further on that side. You can put 32 on each side, but it would stick out further on the right.
That depends on what you are doing in your everyday. But the Kriega is very easy to use. Easy to take on or off and has a handle so you can use it as a "briefcase" if you are going to work.
Hi, Pia. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful, as I now understand better, how exactly they are attached to the mounting-plate. My question: What made you choose the Kriega OS over the Mosko Outlander?
I'm about to buy some side rack panniers for my T7. I also have a DR650, and want to use panniers on both bikes. Dont you think touratech side racks will last longer? also, there's a givi GRT720 CANYON panniers, any reviews ?
As far as I know they are all good alternatives. The Kriega is good quality, practical and relatively cheap. But they were ruined after an accident so I have now ordered the Lone rider soft bags.
@@RidetheBean my point is that i want to commute hard panniers and soft cases on both bikes, and as far as i know, touratech have more quality than the others. If you test these givi GRT let me know ;)
Hey, I stumbled onto this channel by accident when trying to find info about MC in Norway. I'm currently trying to get up to speed on all your videos! I was wondering if you have any tips to share about getting your license. I live in Trondheim too and want to get my license this year! Also; are you planning to have some kind of ride-along or meet in the future?
Hi Jakob! How cool that you found us, especially since we’re in the same city 😊 I would recommend Per Anders Lein at Trondheim Trafikkskole. He was awesome, and really helped me through the process. I also got a lot of help from Jens Omland at the same school 😊 We don’t have plans for an official meetup, but we’re always up for a ride! Send us a message on Facebook or instagram and we’ll find a date 😀🏍👊🏻
Very good choice! I also drive these bags, but on a SW-Motech carrier. (See my latest video on my channel). On Friday (July 24th) I will arrive in Oslo and drive up to Lofoten. Greetings from Berlin!
Thank you.
Best video so far on how to fit Kriega pannier platforms.
Glad it was helpful! 😛

Thanks! Glad you like yours Bob, makes me feel a bit more certain in my investment 😀 we’ll see how long I can make it last 😅

Nice video. Who manufactured the rack system that you’ve attached your plates and cases on to?
Thanks 😊 that is the original mount for the Yamaha hard cases. So it’s probably Yamaha who makes them.

Did you not get the 32 forvthe exhaust side because itd burn on the muffler? Why not two 32's?
Because it would be symmetrical because of the exhaust in one side.
@@RidetheBean i see. Because it would look funny is what you're saying? Thank you much for replying!!!!!!
Hi, Pia. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful, as I now understand better, how exactly they are attached to the mounting-plate. My question: What made you choose the Kriega OS over the Mosko Outlander?
It was because of price and availability after recommendations from the dealership. 🙂
