This is TRULY one of the most iconic casts of all time!!! Wowowowoow I love them
That Sarah Michelle Gellar chase scene is & forever will be one of the greatest chase scenes of ALL TIME!!! Whoever doesn’t agree, can argue with the wall because I don’t want to even hear it lol. It was super suspenseful, beautifully shot, & lasted for sooo damn long. They really played with our emotions lol. Several times throughout that chase, the audience went back & forth with “omg this is the end for her” to “omg, she’s going to get out of this safely!” By the end of the scene, no one had any idea if she was actually going to get away or not! The scene is also iconic because the woman being chased is the incomparable & iconic, MISS SARAH MICHELLE THEE GELLAR!!!

And the idolizing of Helen (and Sarah herself). Yes. Yes, that's what we do. I've always thought Helen should have survived instead of Julie if I'm being honest. She was so close to making it out! 😭
She should have LIVED!!!! She fought so hard. I don’t think there’s been a chase scene in history THAT GOOD- that ends with her death! 💀
@@PettyPumpkins I was actually pretty angry that Helen was killed. Almost ruined the movie for me. So not fair. She would have made a much better survivor than Julie. That's just my opinion though. I love both actresses but Sarah Michelle Gellar is everything.

Fun fact: the spinning “what are you waiting for” was directed by a child who won a contest and was able to go on the set and he told the director that she should spin around screaming and Jennifer Hewitt thought it was the most ridiculous thing until she did it and saw it on screen and realized the kid was actually a genius!!! ❤

Did y’all know that Max was supposed to be one of the major red herrings throughout the movie but due to the success of Scream, the studio felt they needed more kills & needed one earlier on in the movie. Originally only Barry & Helen, & I’m pretty sure Elsa, were going to be the the only characters killed off. Oh and also, we can’t forget about poor David Egan 😢
It definitely makes sense that Max was supposed to be more of a red herring and I kind of wish they had gone that route but 😩 what can you do
@@PettyPumpkins agreed. I don’t mind the extra/earlier kill but the whole Billy Blue/Ray is a red herring thing has always been stupid to me lol. It would’ve worked better with multiple red herrings throughout or they could’ve just done the reveal since we had never met Ben and done away with the whole red herring thing all together lol

Freddie prince junior and Sarah Michelle Gellar met on the set of this movie but didn’t really get to know each other tell the live action scooby doo movie in 2002 were they started dating, they have been together ever since and have a family together, the are literally the best Hollywood couple ever.
I watched this and Jaws on July 4th. It's a little tradition of mine. Especially with Jaws. Even if no one's technically watching it, it's still playing in the background lol. Great video btw

And when you were questioning his wearing a sweater in July, I just wanted to mention that at least in New England there can be some very unpredictable temperatures. The movie end is both at night and on the water, and it can be surprisingly cold overnight here even with the days hitting high 90s. And then on other nights it can stay warm, it varies.
Like on our annual 2 week camping trip last year from the end of July into August, our first week out there was winter rated sleeping bags, wool hats, wool gloves, and piling on blankets, but the second week was a bedsheet and a couple blankets most nights, & the days were all in the high 90s. Seems like the daytime temperatures have been going higher and higher every year.

The chase scene here comes second to the chase scene in the original Prom Night (1980). Both are extremely well done.
I also love the Type O Negative cover of Summer Breeze that opens the movie. It sets a great tone.

The way that Julie is like so psychologically ruined from that summer, just the stringy hair, the unhinged outfits, etc. But was it just an act? Meanwhile Helen has already fully processed it "It was just an accident guys" but her friends are all unraveling. Then Helen tries another approach "what if he wanted to die?" acting like they did someone a favor. lmaooooo so funny Helen was just looking ahead, she was needing to get that gig on the soap opera. Then the weird part is as soon as Helen gets her hair chopped and that "soon" message, ALL OF A SUDDEN Ms. Julie is back to sexy mama with the full hair, crop top and push-up bra? Ready for her "what are you waiting for!!" dramatic stunt of a scene. It's honestly like Julie was working with the killer. Don't trust Julie one bit.
