  • What's new in Samui island in year 2023? After a long epidemic, the island had been left with no business and tourists. Today Samui is back to life! I would like to share with you the update of Samui life by starting with the new walking street in Fisherman village. This street is just opposite of the famous bar, Coco Tam's.
The street is quite long way to walk. There are three zones including shopping zone, sitting zone with reasonable cocktails and food zone. You will enjoy this new street a lot 🙂

@@classinistatravel thanks for posting it. It was a nice walk through the market. I just wanted to know the prices of street food there. I'm trying to figure out a budget. I live in a nearby country and have been here three years. I'm thinking of moving to someplace new. I lived in Bangkok years ago but it's just too hectic now that I'm a bit older and never go to bars. Food is my vice now. Lol. Thanks. Sorry for the snippy comment

@@angryashell100 I see… I can give you some overall ideas about Samui. This walking street is not where selling food with reasonable price since it is in commercial area of Fisherman village. There are many street food shops or along the footpath with price starting around 30-50 baht per dish. The cost of living in Samui isn’t so high as Bangkok and higher than other upcountries since it is isolated island. Property rental is not so high either if you stay in bungalow. Definitely Samui is still natural and peaceful island to live comparing to Phuket. There are many expats living in Samui. The locals here are nice people and welcome. Hope this can give you some ideas. If I have time, I will make a short clip about local street foods (not in walking street) how and where the locals eat for some clear pictures. Patty

@@classinistatravel I'll be staying for a few weeks in the Chaweng area. I'm looking for a change of pace and cleaner air. I can't ride motos because of a back problem. I'll be using g Grab. I do t know how the songthaew's work. I do know that taxis are ridiculously expensive but that's always been the case in Thailand. I still remember Phuket and the tuk tuk mafia. 500baht for a ride anywhere.
