A country shouldn't be dependent on others and should make alternative companies of what the world offers. That is what China doing and also exporting to other markets. I don't want to comment on the capabilities of Bhavesh and his business. But being an automobile enthusiast, I will comment on Ola's scooter. Simply put, this feature rich gimmicky scooter is of horrible quality. India is a market that values features over quality and thus, the sales are high in the interim. However, the poor after sales service and sheer harassment faced by the existing owners will soon mean that there will be no repeat customers. Before, Ola jumps into new ventures (Li-ion batteries, motorbikes, cars etc.) they should work on improving their product experience. Rapid growth and expansion are not the only recipes to a successful business ecosystem.

    • @evthink
      @evthink 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      There is a lot of negative noise made by a minority of Ola owners on issues like delay in delivery or service. The vast majority of customers don't face any issues. On the ground, if you check with average people, most of them have very positive feedback on the vehicle and that is what is increasing the sales. There are quite a few owners with 2 or even 3 Ola Scooters.
      It's just the intellectual bubble that gets threatened by growing EV market that hates Ola. If not for Ola market entry, Ather's next scooter would have been 3 lakhs, then 5 lakhs and then 15 lakhs. Ather would have loved to be niche player of EVs. Ola unleashed the EV Revolution in India. And it will 100% go to capture a large chunk of the EV Market in India by bringing the EV Revolution to bikes and hopefully Cars too.

      @@evthink I respect your opinion hut I refuse to agree with you on a certain account. "Minority of Ola owners". I an telling you from experience (two of my friends Ola S1 Pro and I have test ridden one before settling for an ICE alternative )and whats on social media, none of their scooters are glitch free. I repeat NONE. You only hear from the minority owners who took to social media to express their outrage but take the time to listen to automobile reviewers and the daily users, you will see a harsher picture of the scooter.
      I agree with your point that Ather would have had freedom of chargjng a very high premium on their products. Well said.

      Horrible quality? U enthusiast? putiya.. Did Tesla cars came right from the start? Do u know legacy car makers recall cars even today to rectify? U expect a new company with little capital focusing on building things to make butter smooth service from day one? How many mechanics do ev repairs in India? Even u r trained u will be dam good from day one? Ola made huge investment in factory and r and d. They have 100% ip of their product. They r now building motors without permanent magnets. They have 350+ granted patents in battery which company in India had this? Services will improve with time i had ola bike myself and had experience of driving ev bikes for a decade in China. Ola bikes r of superior quality. My bike hanged twice. I went to service center and fixed it myself by talking to mechanic. With time their products will only improve. My friend had ola s1 pro which didn't got a single issue till date.

    So you are suggesting Ola is going to build a self driving scooter. Your research is a little suggestive. I am not sure Ola wanted to protect their cabs, but rather to get into manufacturing. You left out Simple Energy who also started at the same time but still not delivering. Please do a bit more research. The batteries are also in response to government incentives. He never promised self driving vehicles. All scooters from Ather, Ola, Okinawa Jetendra etc had fires until the government enforced better quality checks. Overall Ola is following India's government incentives along with the latest tech, similar to Tesla

Just have look at their DRHP, do your own research on Indian auto space and global EV peers, you'll have a fair idea of how much hope is being sold. Bhavesh can take a few lessons from Jobs and focus on coming out with quality products even if it takes a bit of time. This get rich quick scheme doesn't work as history shows.
