Here's an easier way: use 0.25 centered pipes to make a line connecting your base and the stairs, leave a gap one block high over the line and create a flat surface/roof to turn it into a tunnel. Zombies will have to come at you crawling and it will be a lot easier to aim for their heads.
Fuck that the heads of crawling zombies swing around more than than a a crack fiend on withdrawals i rather them walking or running where all the heads stay around the same height and area
@@franespejo5302 i find it easier to headshot standing zombies rather than crawling ones i find standing their head movement more predictable were when crawling their head seems to glitch side to side like they're having a seizure and almost inposiible for me to tell where the head actually gonna be when i shoot
1st horde? Same concept but I used a bridge already built in game just climb the support beams and block 3 of the 4 ways up then shoot or stab away as they all walk single line up the 1 open spot I Only used 6 wood blocks 2 high at each of the 3 corners to simply block their pathing.
I made this base exactly the same in a two player multiplayer game and we oftentimes had zombies halt on the first bridge, but moreso on the staircase up. This clog caused them to go into 'attack everything'-mode and gradually destroy the stairs, making ascending impossible. This ruined the whole point of the triple bridge. For a good while, zombies did run across the bridges as intended but this was only at the very beginning of the horde. The majority of the night was spent putting blocks on the staircase and throwing grenades so their continuous destruction could not take out the support structure entirely. Is there a reason the zombies went for the stairs? Some also randomly stopped across the first bridge and started attacking the blocks below them. Would love some insight here.
A comment I found in another video about the subject: "The fall distance of 11 blocks is the magic number to not enter destroy area mode when they take fall damage. The safer standard is 15, because zombies often fall on top of other zombies which, and this gives a buffer incase that happens so they do not enter destroy area mode." Not sure if it works but seems like nobody else replied here yet so maybe you wanna try it, could maybe dig a trench to make them fall 11-15 blocks if there is a ramp near your stairs they can walk out of.
I like to dig up around my supports and put 1m hole blocks facing up and zombies see that as floor they can't walk on and avoid walking towards my supports i also like to put spikes around my suports ad well so if they do try to dmg it they dmg themselves alot way before they even get any dmg on structure ive never had a problem with zombies attacking my supports blocks with the 1m hole blocks surounding the my structure foundation never had to repair m support beams
I dont like put base in the horde fight area, maybe works for yoy but i am still use a 6 block high base with a walkway without stairs, that gives me time to take headshots and for the zombies to be stopped by the electric defenses, it works for me in Undead Legacy and Darkness Falls
Thats a lot of blocks, i got a hollowed out square with some odd blocks that has the zombies jumping up and down my stairs to get to me i just aim at a corner and let her rip, made a tiny roof for vultures so far so good about day 70 now
So going 30 blocks out seems to be too long for me and the zombies don’t path up the stairs they crowd the bottom of my base. Instead we went 19 blocks away from the bottom of the base and haven’t had any issues thus far.

Yeah right. Like you can build all that in 58 seconds. I can barely get the starting challenges done in that time and he's already got a T6 Sniper rifle. I call cap.
No you need to make it 12 blocks high because of zombie fall damage rage they will break down the building and not go up the stairs if they are 11 blocks away from the player they don’t do this
Meh just build a base you like and go with it. I just make one main base and have a section cut off inside it specifically for horde night with a bunch of turrets outside of a small cube with a roof. Headshots are not hard to achieve lol. This to me is doing too much when it could be much simpler.
Does 58 seconds include the base falling down ?

Nice base but I find blood moon nights a hell of a lot more fun without making these cheese bases.
Agreed. Reinforcing a good ol regular base is fun. Sometimes we run around outside until it gets too chaotic and we run low on meds.

Love how Josh has all these tutorials and tips videos...yet refuses to use them in any series.
Because it's pretty easy to cheese the game and sit there afk. Doesn't make for exciting content.
Genius.
And how to craft that block
How to get bored as quickly as possible
Doesn't work. They just pile up at the base of the 5x5, they don't path to the stairs
I had zero issues with it.
Same sh1t with me😢
Take the joy out the game
You don’t have to do it either
A perfectly made rifle horde base although not everyone is going to be able to build with cement until late game 🤷
You can totally start out with wood, and upgrade as you go!
What about this base makes you think it needs to be cement? The point is the zombies aren’t hitting it, so why would the material used matter?

Just started playing with the release of 1.0 - why do you always go 7 blocks up?
7 blocks up is the recommended distance so that the zombies don't think it's just easier to tear the whole base down
@maddexraddeman3486 thank you
If you have a melee buddy, you can skip the zombie dropper.

Hey so.. why are most of these bases 7 blocks? Is it an issue of for different ones if I go higher? Or it just a matter of needing extra resources?
It is to fight against zombie mechanics. Too close to a zombie they will start to smack blocks. Far enough away they will only run.
I’m rather new… Why is the dropper important.?
Means the zombies fall down and start again, rather than ever make it to you or your scaffold barrier
