Ladybird's legacy of wildflowers makes America beautiful. I've often seen the wildflowers by the road and thought of her.

The Texas Hill Country is one of my most favorite places to visit. It never ceases to amaze me. It’s like my home away from home

Back in 1975 we canoed down the Guadalupe River from the Dam area and camped along the way and ended up at the old Gruene Hall. It was a little general store back then and the only business open. Next door was the old abandoned Grist Mill. Now when we go and visit and eat there it's hard to imagine what it used to be and now has become! Great memories.

Samantha I came from nothing but one day I saw your trave video on the city if Verona. In only ten minutes you helped open a hopeless world and made something better. Thank you for making me better.

The cracking sound from the whip. Is that it is breaking the sound barrier. Which means the end of a whip snapped back at over 750+ miles an hour.

As a native Texan, it pains me to see what the hill country has become. Rich folks have pushed the poor out... to other parts of our glorious state. The change was inevitable, but it's sad, just the same. It's not really... Texas.

Boerne used to be a nice quiet town. It’s been ruined by its popularity…..

In the early 80s, my wife and I discovered, by walking up a dry creekbed that crossed the highway (no fences) a bluebonnet field that was easily 20 acres in full bloom. It was pretty much breathtaking and you couldn't see it from the highway. Off of SH 71 between the Marble Falls cutoff and Llano.

Naeglin’s Bakery earned its fame legitimately. The struedels. The gingerbread. The kolaches. The prickly service from the authentic German owners. Since it was sold , not so much. Now you can expect dense, musty, and uncreative pastries, even if you make the expedition to walk there, because for sure you can’t expect parking nearby. There’s a far superior bakery in New Braunfels but I guess the drive-by tour guide types don’t have any interest in thorough site research and instead visit the low hanging fruit pushed by the local “Chamber of Commerce.”
