Really good overview, after seeing the in-depth reviews of each fixture. These videos contributed to my purchase decision on buying moving heads last week. Good work Joe 😀
Good review man! Would you recommend/discourage hanging 3-4 mini moving heads (comparable in size to the adj stinger/chauvet intimidator) from a T-bar? Thanks!
Dead Set Saints Music Depends in how much weight the T bar can support and how quickly you plan on moving the fixtures. I wouldn’t recommend not programming the fixtures, as a built in mode isn’t completely certain that it will move slow enough not to knock your t bar over. Probably look into sandbags at the base
Great comparison. I have a question are these your own fixtures, as in -did you buy them? It seems you only talk about ADJ products, just curious because there is no AD disclaimer. Do you work or get paid to review these products. Does ADJ just send these to you for review and if so do you have to return them?
Same thing with Brian S Redd. ADJ, ADJ, ADJ....oh, and don't forget ADJ. Don't get me wrong, they make great fixtures, but there are other great brands out there too.
Great video! The only thing that I don't understand is why anyone would purchase a Focus Spot Two over an Inno Spot Pro? The Inno Spot Pro is slightly brighter, has a "rotating" prism versus a non-rotating prism and also has movement feedback (a very important feature if you want your moving heads to be "in sync" all night). Also, here in the US the Inno Spot Pro is $150 dollars cheaper than the Focus Spot Two. Am I missing something?
Inno Spot Pro is now discontinued by ADJ though I'm sure still available to buy. Its a great unit and up until recently owned a pair myself. The inno Spot pro feels higher quality in its construction and is also a little bigger. Its probably cheaper because its older stock being sold off. Both are great but I would probably pick the Inno Spot Pro myself!
hey Joe! (quote Jimmy Hendrix) very informative review on these babies. i'm gathering a bit more info on them since i wanna narrow down my wedding band setup here in Austria. right now we have 4 pocket spots, which are nice but just don't live up to the desired output and wow-effect. since i'm the drummer, i don't really have hands free to slide faders or push numerous buttons. so my question is if you could recommend a simple but effective programming tool, where it would be possible to pre-record and fine tune some cool shows and then just play them like on a button-sampling machine or other interface like and android or i_Pad? saw your demo with the i_Pad and was wondering which hard/Software you were using? i just wanna be able to press a button before we start a song, maybe switch at the bridge part and then black it out at the end... any thoughts? i would really appreciate you feedback sometime. Greetings from Vienna, Johnny
very good comparison Joe! have to agree with you on the zoom on the focus spot 3! personally I would emit the UV LED I think it's ugly and adds very little as it's so weak
Guy's Sound and Light In your original comment you put "3!". In maths, a ! means factorial. So for example, 5! (5 Factorial) = 120. So to a maths geek, your comment reads "focus spot 6" as 3! = 6. Have a look at this subreddit: www.reddit.com/r/unexpectedfactorial/
The zoom on the 3z works best when the beam of light is shot across a hall.

What a lovely comparison video. Showing & Telling instead of just telling! Keep up these good videos!
The zoom on the 3z is useful if you want to adjust the beam angle even though it's slow and only moves within 5 degrees.
the focus spot 2x has both prisms like the 3z, for anyone wondering
please do a updated setup, miss your videos dude
really good review , utilizing the ipad to present is a cool idea
If i may ask, how did you use the ipad to connect and control the lights, what app and how..... thanks
Make more videos! You’ve been my inspiration to do lighting
GREAT review - thank you so much for taking the time to create this video it is much appreciated!!!!!!
How do u produce a beam on the adj focus spot?
You should use a haze machine, just go round the room with the haze on and turn on the beam
@@orbitiscool Thanks so much mate
I just got a focus spot 3 because i gave up on my scanner (irock 5s) because it kept needing new tungsten bulbs

do they have a mode where the beam stays on the dancefloor instead of spinning back? somilar to chauvets totem mode?

Focus spot 4z soon?
Joe, between Focus Spot Two and Inno Spot Pro which one you recommend?
Great presentation and review 👍
The 3z is the best. You can also create cool water and fire effects using the dual gobo wheels.
You should do a video comparing the MA range to the ETC ION with a fader wing. What is each console best used for? Thanks.

Will you be making a tutorial on mydmx 3.0 on moving heads? Pref. on the focus spot ones or twos.
When you posing again
When you posting again
Do you still do mobile discos?

Didn't know that ADJ did a focus spot 6
Joe M sorry what??

Joe M interesting. I never knew that tbh :-)
At least the zoom is motorized.
Nononononononono it's a zed not a zee
True. I love Chauvet Professional and my favourite fixture seems to be the Rogue RH1 hybrid.
nice DMXing (if thats a word)
