We have those exact same Beam 230s in our church and they run really well. Shehds also sells some Beam 230s that are slightly different but in terms of the light itself it's the same (only differences are that the Shehds version has a powercon out and a rotary knob instead of buttons). We've had a bit of trouble with them but I think those are more in terms of power and not the fixture itself. Very informational video! Edit: at the time of writing this, we are having a problem with one of our 4 beam 230s. The light is out just like in the video
Onyx for the win! I've been a user every since it was Martin M series and used as Martin MPC for many years and now that it's Onyx, I still use it every weekend on events with my Microsoft surface pro.
@@DCAVL it’s fine. Nice and Compact. I’m out growing it a bit and would love to get an NX1. But will probably build out a case with a mini pc and a Couple touch screens
I had 8 shedhs moving lights in my hire stock and one week after getting them brand new they were self destructing their lamps so I sent them back and ordered 4x chauvet rogues and 4x robe 1200ats
Not a bad idea to buy an extra as a parts donor, for the amount you save buying from them it's easy.. They're good about sending parts but waiting a month for delivery kinda sucks.
Hey I actually picked up some lights from you last year I think for our company. Some beam 230s maybe. Yes most lights are made in China, but American engineers normally go to china for quality control oversite. I dont know if that happens with Shehds. We had a bad batch of lights, but this new batch looks great so far. We have more on order.
Ya know the main issue i have with these cheaper lights is that either they are just straight in cable, or in this case Powercon which issent the end off the world but id prefer true 1, And that they all are 3-pin which makes em a pain to use together with any kind setup that uses 5 pin like MA2, I have 2 pairs of Solena 12w Minipars, and no matter what i do with the fixture profile everything happens on a single DMX channel instead of across 8 DMX footprints as supposed. Not sayin all of them are like this but thats my main problems with these cheap ebay lights what not
I don't really have a video on ONYX yet. Thanks for the idea! Now depending on your light fixture you might have to turn on Intensity, strobe, just a color, shutter open. If you really want to get more info on ONYX check out this youtube channel. www.youtube.com/@learnonyx-learnstagelighti1463/videos
@@DCAVL its more a thing like you don't get as much light output as they describe.. if there power draw and output would be like the specs says they would be alot brighter .. so its not a good thing in less power means less light output so not getting exact what they sold you from the spec sheet.
Why would you get lights that’s not from a brand there’s Shehds you can try that they have some good prices wash fixtures cost 220$ now, and the beam 230 7r cost 360$
Well @shehdslighting204 doesn't sponsor me yet so I had not added it. You can find both of the lights in this video here: www.shehds.com/products/led-zoom-par-18x18w-rgbwauv-lighting-dj-disco-stage-lighting-good-for-party-nightclub
Yea... They are not very good. But plz, don't put "Chauvet" or "elation" in the top quality brand, they are almost the same as sheds or Chinese. Nothing like a real pro fixtures brand like clay paky, coemar, robe....
I knew it was only a matter of time until a real LD made a comment on this video. They are pro lights in comparison to these stock lights coming out of china. It would be a dream to have some Robe, Clay Paky lights at my shows. Maybe if I make better videos I will have better lights. lol
@@DCAVL WOW, somebody who claims that I'm a LD. Uh... Thank, wow. I use to have a couple of Chauvet dj light like the radius and some American dj stuff. They were not very good. But I never owned myself some of their more "pro" moving Head fixture. I guess, for most dj application, they're fine and easier to transport than big clay paky stuff
The big wash zoom they sell is hot garbage. They don't zoom...they have like 180 degree wide spill. When you zoom them in/out, the spill stays the same and it creates a hot spot in the middle. Its laughably bad.
That means that you work at a mega-church consortium who won't hire a real lighting professional, or purchase professional lighting fixtures either. Standard xtian pyramid scheme.
Um no pyramid scheme here...Just letting people know cheep lights are not the best. I don't get anything from people so I don't know why you think I am a scheme. Why do you think that?

My two Shehds par lights I bought work great !!!!! And the ones I bought are their cheaper models I think I got two for $40 off Amazon
Shehds are getting better and better every day!
Shehds has a huge issue with consistency. My Shehds par (the exact model you have) is extremely loud. Quality control is really bad as well.
Dang, The ones we installed very quite. Then one caught on fire. lol

@@stonegray230 I always do. Being able to rebuild a light from others that are not working has saved me a couple times.
Beam 230W looks the heat problem. Try to change the temperature sensor or check the cooling system.

i do a lot of reviews for shehds and have never had any problems with any of there stuff , all dj lights even ADJ and Chauvet DJ Are All Made In China

No customer service. You get what you get. Now the Shehds lights have been better then ebay, but buy more then you need.

I do think the Chauvet lights are built better then a lot of the cheep online lights. I have not comlpaired the power outputs yet.
I hate to point this out, but most lights on the market are just cheap Chinese lights. Just a matter of whose name is on it
Yup. I've seen a lot of lights that are basically clones of each other with just a different name (or no branding at all)
