      This is the best hobby. The feeling of holding a coin that's over 100 years old or a Relic that belonged to someone and holds a story .

    I believe the part that was said to be a part of a clock was actually a part of a vintage fishing reel. The metal baby shoes were one of a pair of bronzed baby shoes. Do a search. You guys had a great hunt and a lot of fun!

    Baby shoes used to bronzed as keepsakes for parents. We even did our sons in 1989.

    Used to be a common practice to bronze a baby’s first walking shoe. But I would think that would not be terribly old. Like maybe mid 1900s

    A bronzed baby shoe, a common keepsake done by parents. They sent the shoes to a place that bronze plated them to put on the shelf.

    I live in England and my late father used to say to us " when in town keep your window down " meaning to look around all the time as you don't know what is below your feet, as what looks like a rock could be old. My son is now 19years old when he was younger I would take him out with me & he found a clay pipe with the stem on, Cobb bottle complete & old coins, he still has them & won't sell them.

      As long as I am out cutting plugs I am a happy camper. I was out at South Park last week with Pittsburgh Coin Hunting in the woods.
      Highs were in the 20s lol.

    Wicked great finds! That Indian is cool all flattened! I have 2 flattened cents, 1 not identified that someone flattened on train tracks and etched a bell on it and the other is wheatie railroad flattened. Super cool bell, never saw one quite like that! Great relics and buttons!

      Thanks Chris, that's the first type of that bell that we found. It's a Swedish sleigh bell. Rich once found an Indian that was put in a penny press machine over 100 years ago.

      Funny you say that! I had a few other people say that too! I think it’s a very real possibility! I can picture it now….. an old man sitting on his front porch picking on an old banjo or guitar reaches in his pocket and no pick so what do ya do? Well he’s got a penny in his pocket.     Great tease but you can’t fool me! 😁 Explosive it is, however!👍 Very unique design! Found one that size in a creek but just has the ‘X’ opening on the bottom. Sweet rat tail spoon! Would not have known what that was if I hadn’t dug a spoon bowl of one from a mid 1700’s military post this past year. Sweet to get the whole thing! ATB and happy hunting!

      Out of all the great finds we foundI think that old bent up rat tail spoon was my favorite! I’m sure that thing was passed down through the family and it fed a lot of mouths. Cool to think about what kind of soups it served. Maybe some opossum soup or some raccoon soup lol.

    It's a railroad penny. People have always laid coins on the train track and watch the train flatten them.

      Could be! Maybe it slid of the edge of the tracks and didn’t get hit the whole way. If it did it would have been way flatter. Someone else guessed possibly they turned it into a guitar pick! I like both ideas. Thanks for watching.

      Your right! I didn’t think about that until a few days after the hunt. Jewelry, buttons, and a Bronzed baby shoe. Makes ya wonder if they had to get out of the house in a hurry.     the shoe was probrably bronzed. Over 25 yrs ago people started bronzing baby shoes as a memento. This maybe one that was done.

    Nice seeing you get out in the woods! Real history is on those old abandoned homesteads. You can almost see what life was like back then. Also nice seeing you taking out newcomers to the hobby. Nothing like seeing someone's reaction to their first interesting find.

      Thanks Frank, we don't normally do the woods because it gets so overgrown here and hard to swing a detector. We find alot more in yards, but won't be giving up the woods hunts all together. We have a few more videos from in the woods, with some old silver coins and relics to come

    Nice variety of finds. The spoon & some of the buttons no doubt mid-late 1700s. The small buckle not a shoe buckle but most likely a knee buckle (late 1700s)....early history. keep up the good work.

    Are mom and dad had our baby shoes bronzed in the sixties so probably that's what you found was bronze shoes and they used to put that in a picture Fram gonna have your shoes down below to save them

    Yeah it was a baby shooting it probably bronzed it over like they still do it to this day they put you know bronze their baby shoes people do

    Nice hunt with very cool finds.. I like these woods hunts on old homesites Being that's what I mostly get to do. And the relics are always cool. Please Do some more of these style hunts if possible and as always great content and video.

      Thanks Blacksunshine, we only recently started to do some woods hunts because the ground was frozen and we couldn't go door knocking. We did get a couple more woods hunts videos in before all the snow hit here. Jerry is good at researching these old home sites for us to find.

    Great finds looks like you have a site with some age and that crotal bell is a great find. It’s a bummer all this snow is on the ground haven’t been out in so long but at least I have some good TH-cam content to get me through the winter.

    It looks like your using a wire brush, I feel like if it’s a coin of at least some numismatic value you could damage it. Good luck and happy hunting

      @@dl2086 I'm sorry, if you were referring to Bubbas red brush, then yes, it was brass. He was a guest, and brand new to detecting. He still has a lot to learn. We are on the other side of the state, in the Pittsburgh area.

      @@dl2086 The red brush is actually just a bristle brush. It's good for cleaning off relics, not most coins. I know this, because it was my brush (Shawn). Haha :)
