  • In this video you will see the removal of the Radiator Core Support for a C3 Corvette. It's a long time coming and please refer to previous videos that show all the other things that needed to be done in order to get to the place where the Core Support can be removed. This is one of the very few videos out there that show the removal process of a C3 Corvette Core Support and it shows how it can be done as part of the overall restoration process of a C3.

So should I cut in half and save the aggravation.

Up to you. I was not expecting the core support to get jammed in place and wanted to simply raise or lower it out. The core support was pinched so hard between the left and right side of the engine bay, so I thought it would have been easier to cut the core in half, so I did that and it worked fine for me. Made the job easier and faster. Good luck with yours and I hope it goes well. J

Remove the a/c condenser first and the core support will come out from the top. At least it did on my ‘75. Also if you plan to install a Dewitts radiator, be sure to purchase their upper and lower cushions. They fit perfectly.

Thats the most " brutal" technique Ive ever seen to remove that old core support if that hadnt worked maybe some " C-2" would get it out with a " bang"!!🤣🤣🤣

It's was a big job and I totally appreciate why owners don't do this that often. I'll be puting the new new core support in the C3 in the next few weeks. Thanks for watching and sending in a comment. J

Why did you take the old core support out ?

I needed to take the old core support out because it was rusted on the bottom and no longer structural sound. I'm doing a front end overhaul on the entire C3, so it made sense to replace the core support while everything else is being done.
