7b Smith , Preto ,Col de dame Grise , Blanc and Noir doing well , same for Panache and I 258 all planted in the ground with no protection , still not out of the woods 100% {March 11th} but very hopeful about it by the way Negronne is very cold hardy, I have had it many years planted in the ground with no issues whatsoever. Good video, really enjoy your persimmon videos as well Thank you for posting !
Hey Lou, I can’t get enough of your videos thanks for the great info as always.. So that’s just straight potting mix that you use.? I haven’t tried that yet I’m stuck on straight pro mix hp always great luck for me. Thanks Lou
Hi, Steve! My advise would be to stick with what ever has been working for you. There are many successful ways to propagate fig cuttings, as I explained in my video. It is always wise to use a method that works best in your particular climate and with the facilities that you may or may not have available! We adapt!!! Good luck! Thanks for watching. Lou Monti
Hi, Judy! In my zone, 7-A, this is a very good time to get things started early for the season, providing that you have a good window with a Southern or Southeastern exposure inside your house. The same applies for getting already established potted plants started early, as well. Good luck! Lou Monti
I been whaching with much lnterest your video’s you say uncle Mario comes from small town near Teramo I come from that area San Vito di Valle Castellana do you remember the name of the town e came from?
Hi Lou, I’ve just started rooting some common cuttings I have been able to find - but I was wondering if you ever sell your cuttings? If so I would love to purchase a black Madeira cutting from you. Your trees are beautifully healthy for being in your zone and as a northern Virginian I’m wondering if I would have better success with cuttings from such healthy trees rather than ones I generically find online. Please let me know! Thank you
Hi, there! I'm sorry! As I've said countless times, my channel is for the dissemination of public information to the general fig community and to fig hobbyist everywhere. My information and my videos are free and I do not sell anything. As I've said, there may come a time when I will allow limited offerings of my personal collection on Figbid. It will bring me great pleasure knowing that, after I'm gone, my family heirlooms, several of which I have personally preserved for generations, and that many of my favorite (healthy and productive) fig varieties are being preserved and enjoyed by many other fig enthusiasts into perpetuity. However, I do not have any immediate plans, and may never have, to sell anything. Thanks for watching, and I sincerely hope that my videos have been of some use to you. Regards, Lou Monti
That’s okay! There is absolutely no need for you to be sorry about anything. I understand and thank you so much for helping me learn so much more about how to take care of my plants!
Mike Kinkaid said if you like figs you gotta check out Lou Monti's channel, so here I am! I'm looking forward to watching all of your videos. :D
Welcome aboard and thank you very much! Regards from, Lou Monti

Hi Lou. Love your videos. After you pot the fig cuttings this time of year, where do you put them - inside or outside?
