I plug my guitar in to an audio interface which goes into my laptop. Then I use Tim Henson's digital guitar plug-in and play it back to a portable speaker. Amps are too heavy and big and require a plug lol

I'd just say practice on the thumping, for this song I slap on the A string then upward thump the low E while having my right palm mute it so it comes of as a double thump. That technique is all over this song
